At this point, I am trying to find one person in Hollywood who will publicly say they like January Jones. Prior to getting pregnant, I think I could have found several. Those would be the owners of the various bars and places around her home where she buys her booze. They love her. They love her so much they would probably deliver to her house if she asked. But, now that she is pregnant and cutting back on her drinking and driving, there is no one left to sing her praises. Not that she really deserves it. She has burned more bridges than Sherman marching through the South. Too dated? She has burned more bridges than Paris Hilton has "accidentally" exposed her herpes infected va jay jay. Too nasty? She has burned more bridges than Jada Pinkett Smith has talked about having sex. Do you think Jada and Tupac had lots of crazy sex? Oh, do you want some weird news buried here in the middle of a post that has nothing to do with the headline at this point? Apparently there is going to be a Tupac musical on Broadway. Has anyone announced that? Now, back to the headline.
Damon Lindelof, the creator of Lost is the latest person to slam January and he does so because of her lack of acting prowess in the new X-Men movie. Well, Damon, acting is probably not what got her the job. Just sayin'. On his Twitter, besides saying that Walt could just make birds fly into windows he said that January Jones sucks at acting. Do you think he might be friends with the baby daddy?

ReplyDeleteHonestly, this is what makes me have a love/hate relationship with social media. People toss these statements out into the world without considering hurt feelings or repercussions. What if they run into each other at an industry event one day? And he's also insulting the people on set involved in casting decisions, too. Not every actress can emote as skillfully as Evangeline Lilly, I guess!

Besides, I'm still pissed off about the weepy, overly sentimental, and *totally* sloppy way they ended LOST, so Damon can basically kiss my ass. ;-)

I think she turned him down and he's getting some payback on her. There are lots of bad actors in Hollywood why single her out unless it's personal?

ReplyDeleteI liked her in the movie. I was prepared not to because I had read all the comments and I also really hated her costume, but Emma Frost is supposed to be a stone-cold bitch, and not much emoting is required for that.

It's a double standard though if the baby daddy's friends are all of the suddon slamming her because of the affair/pregnancy. He hired her for his movie and slept with her. No one forced him. So if she really is such a bad actress then he basically hired her for sex.

ReplyDelete@flwrgurl - two main things. She was leaving an awards show (or something) last year, hit a car and then fled the scene and went home. From records, she called Bobby FLAY for advice (??) and then went back to the scene, presumably after she had sobered up. This prompted all those "sleeping with married men" rumours, which, it turns out, are probably true considering her current situation.
Second: according to Zach G., she invited him over for a conversation and then after about 15 minutes, said: "You should leave now", basically shooing him away. Who does that?
I didn't know Jada & Tupac dated either?! I would totally see that musical. I loved his music.

I'm not January Jones sympathizer but I think it's kind of shitty what Damon said, especially via Twitter. That seems worse to me for some reason than saying it in an interview.
it saddens me that she makes such poor choices and seems to shoot herself in the foot time and again...she was really promising, career-wise, for a while there, wasn't she? wow.

She does well enough in Mad Men because that is the nature of the character she is playing. She was horrible in Swedish Auto & I couldn't believe what I was watching. Her interviews & how she presents herself show what a bitch she can be. How call a married man when they are involved in a drunken driving hit & run? I'm sure Bobby had a few choice words in private for her. How did Josh Groban ever put up with her. Ashton Kuchter doesn't count.

bumblebee - I assure you I've been "slamming" this trick long before she got pregnant. I adore Mad Men, and she's the only glaring weak link. I've been criticizing her as an actress since season one of said show, and subsequent seasons plus SNL haven't proven me wrong.

ReplyDeleteShe was terrible on SNL but a lot of actors have been. Some just don't have comedic timing. The two worst that come to mind (who weren't athletes, politicians or singers) were Calista Flockheart and Pierce Brosnan. Wayne Gretzky was adorably bad.

ReplyDeleteOk, I've never seen her in anything so I can't comment on her acting. However, I still like her... There's just something about her that I like and I can't figure it out. I've seen a lot of sucky people on SNL, actually my husband and I were talking about it just the other day. Some people get shitty jokes, some have bad timing, and sometimes they rely too much on the person's reputation of being funny.

Stating an actor cannot act (January Jones) is not the same as bashing her. I've never seen her TV show, but what I have seen her in does not display any acting ability. That can be said of most of Hollyweird though.

IMO, January Jones is about as boring as Blake Lively. Zero acting skills? Check. Forgettable face and personality? Check. Success in Hollywood achieved under suspicious circumstances? Check.
