For some reason, the two ex-Friends stars are now rumored to be ex-friends. If this was some sensational tabloid, you could say it was because Courteney Cox did not pass over the note she got from Jennifer Aniston to pass to Brad when they met for dinner after fourth period French. Oh, or maybe it is because since Courteney is almost single that the pair broke up because Courteney did not tell Jennifer she was going to dinner with Brad and Jennifer fears that Courteney wants Brad all to herself.
Of course, other tabloids this week say that Courteney and David might not be done. I think if they are not done it is going to be a very open marriage. Also, Jennifer is supposedly seriously hooking up with Justin Theroux after of course denying the whole thing a few weeks ago. It is amazing how long two people from the same show can stay popular, but the other four barely make a ripple in the news unless something bad happens or someone gets pregnant.
I find this sad. I mean, if two wizened, boring-ass, narcissistic cokeheads with terrible taste in men and zero acting range can't maintain their mutual admiration society, then the whole idea of friendship is officially DEAD.

ReplyDeleteBut seriously Lisa Kudrow is good in everything she does and Matt LeBlanc was surprisingly good (probably playing himself) in that Showtime series, Episodes.
Cox felt like Anniston was taking her for granted.

ReplyDeleteI am very saddened to hear about this Justin Theroux angle wrt JA. 1) Because I like him and think he should be better than that and 2) because he is cousins with my wretched sister-in-law and now I will never hear the end of how she is going to meet JA, is BFFs w JA, etc. Vomit.

I agree with Little Miss about Episodes. Matt LeBlanc became the only reason I watched it, until he had sex with the wife, then I stopped. That made me lose all respect for the show.

ReplyDeleteI felt like Courtenay and David were not totally done when they separated. They way they did it felt like they wanted to take a break from each other, but that they wanted to get back together once each had sowed their oats.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if JA has a problem with Courtney's need for male attention? JA has been single for a long time and has probably gotten past the neediness, whereas Courtney seems to be clinging to men.
Matthew Perry turned out to be a one-note actor (his latest tv show? awful). What has Schwimmer even done since Friends? Matt LeBlanc was a cool character but boring actor on Friends and after. Lisa Kudrow was unjustly overshadowed by CC and JA.
Kudrow was probably the most talented of all, but Matt LeBlanc has always been good, I felt. People thought that he was one-note, and turns out, he is not. But people wanted to pigeon=hole him. Perry is good in movies, the Whole Nine Yards, etc.

ReplyDeleteI just saw where they might actually be re-naming CougarTown. Shouldn't they have done that after season 1?? I kind of look forward to seeing the credits each week to see them mocking the name.
Cox looks like she's turning into Cher there...and I loved Matthew Perry in The Whole 9 Yards and Fools Rush In.

ReplyDeleteI do not like JA, at all. There is just something off-putting about her. She seems like she thinks she's God's gift, when in reality she's got a wonky chin and can't act, like, at all. She plays the exact same character -- herself -- in 99% of everything she does.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I can't help but like Cox. I really, really hope she and David get back together, and I am ashamed that I am rooting for them rather than not caring at all, like a normal person. Cox does a lot of work and raises tons of money for research into EB, which is a rare and terrible disease my beloved mother has had since birth. Pitt is also a big supporter of the EB research foundation, so as far as I am concerned they are decent people.
Also, Lisa Kudrow is effing great in everything she does. Easy A? The Opposite of Sex? Romy and Michelle? All brilliant!
@Texshan - YES @ Romy And michelle - one of the funniest movies of the past 15 years that doesn't get enough love. Janeane Garafolo was amazingly bitchy in it.

ReplyDeleteJason -- I can't stand Janeane as a person, but she was the absolute best part of that movie! When she finally has a conversation with Justin "Clarence" Theroux, I die laughing every time. And my favorite line in that whole movie was, "I look like an asshole in this!" Just the way she delivered it is too, too funny.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe no one has pointed out that Courtney tried to set up Jen with her on-screen boyfriend, the actor that plays Grayson about 6 months ago, and then shortly after that didn't work out, Courtney took up with him herself.
ReplyDeleteI think they'll work it out eventually. They have distanced themselves from each other before but are always there when they really need each other. They have been friends for a LONG time and regardless of what you think of each of them, they care about each other. For real, like, outside of all the hollywood crap that they tend to get so mixed up in.
I don't believe the tabloid reports that JA and CC falling out anymore than I believe that Brange are breaking up/getting married next week, GaGa is a man or that TomKat are truly in love.
