It has been awhile since I have done this, but for Johnny Depp's 48th birthday I thought I would revisit the birthday photo gallery and let you profess your love for the guy who consistently gets the most requests in my inbox.
DAMN. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was watching 21 Jump Street and enjoying one of my first celebrity crushes.
He's a beautiful man and a wonderful actor, but I'll give him everything in my bank account if he'll promise to wait at *least* three years before he plays a pirate or collaborates with Tim Burton again.
Not my total favorite but I do like him. Maybe it's just me but he comes across as actually being a nice guy (as opposed to the usual celebrity me me me).
I've never heard a bad thing about him and I don't have a single ill word or thought about him. The man is pure class all the way. I hope he has a totally awesome & low-key birthday.
He had me at, 'Ed Wood' (I jumped on the Depp train pretty late - never did pretty boys before him). Love him to pieces, and since he's older than me, I'm not committing a crime by crushing on this one.
Gorgeous man. However, when he was doing publicity for "The Tourist", he looked oddly plump in the face, as if he had had something done. I hope he stopped it, whatever it was.
Never really thought about him one way or the other, good actor, fun celebrity. THEN I saw him in that photo with his jeans slung low, on the boat, chains on his bare chest, eyes closed and a glass of wine in his hand. I think it was the tan line that got me. SWOOOOON.
What I find most appealing about him is that he does a lot of wonderful things for people. He is pretty but doesn't really do it for me and I dislike that he defends Roman Pervert Polanski.
FORTY-EIGHT?!?!?

ReplyDeleteMy favorite human being alive... Happy Birthday... hows about a birfday kissy.... MUAH! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree Ida, I would love to see him in a role where he doesn't have to wear a costume.
ReplyDeleteI love him though, I can't believe he is 48!
Ah...Crybaby! That movie was so underrated...and a sure sign of his characters to come ;)
ReplyDelete*swooooooooooooooooooooooooooon*
ReplyDeleteThanks Enty I so needed that!
The first picture reminded me why I liked him so much. ;)
ReplyDelete@RQ - Crybaby is my fave Depp movie!
@ida - he can have my bank account too. Srsly.

ReplyDeleteSorry, but a man smoking isn't sexy anymore. I wish those photos hadn't been included, they are kind of grossing me out.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he's almost 50! Wow. 50 will look damn fine on him.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
ReplyDeleteis he again with Vanessa Paradis? because i didn't see them together since a long time

ReplyDeleteHe's still got it. I love him.
ReplyDeleteHe definitely "still got it". I wonder if he will share it with me? ;)
ReplyDeleteDitto Ida and Rose...
ReplyDeleteand thanks, Enty!
De. Lic. Ous!
ReplyDeleteJD was my first celebrity crush. His being a decent person makes him that much hotter. Hope his day has been a good one for him.
ReplyDeleteHe had me at, 'Ed Wood' (I jumped on the Depp train pretty late - never did pretty boys before him). Love him to pieces, and since he's older than me, I'm not committing a crime by crushing on this one.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason he does not appeal to me. Used to like him in 21 Jump Street but now ..... lol
ReplyDeleteI liked Crybaby too. But I like John Water's movies in general.
ReplyDeleteHe was with Kate Moss for a few years, though. Ick.
ReplyDeleteLoved him as the Freddy Krueger victim! He was gorgeous as Leo DeCaprio's brother too! So was Leo!
ReplyDeleteHe made CRY at the end of Edward Scissorhands! What a doll.
ReplyDelete@Jason -- oh, come ON. They were a gorgeous couple. Four of the planet's most magnificent cheekbones!
ReplyDeleteGreat actor, but he does not do it for me. A little too greasy, feminine or something.

ReplyDeleteHe does it for me.
ReplyDeleteI loved him with Winona.
I dream about the wine this man drinks...mmmmm, I bet it's amazing.
ReplyDeleteNo fair for him to look that good at this age, since I don't, but the only 'pretty boy' I've ever been a bit nuts for. Gorgeous inside and out.
ReplyDeleteSo many good movies, this one. Super sexy. Happy Birthday, JD!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Enty.
He's enough to make a woman melt in her tennis shoes.
ReplyDeleteBut why is he smelling his armpit in that one pic?
ReplyDeleteWhat I find most appealing about him is that he does a lot of wonderful things for people. He is pretty but doesn't really do it for me and I dislike that he defends Roman Pervert Polanski.
ReplyDeleteSo hot. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he's 48. He is seriously ageless, and yes, I definitely would.
ReplyDeleteGood lord he's pretty...i'm not sure i can continue working..i'm overheating ....SWOON -he's my number one Freebie.
ReplyDeleteLike the best -- He's getting better with age.
ReplyDeleteAh, my favorite. I wonder how he celebrated this year? I know last year there was a big party and the way he reacted made me like him even more.
