You know, these kinds of stories just write themselves. A Congressman from New York with the last name Weiner gets in trouble for sending pictures of his wiener to various young women from his Twitter account. Yesterday, news reporters decided to really give it Weiner and asked him how his wiener ended up on his Twitter account. You could tell Weiner was having a hard time talking bout his wiener when he yelled at a CNN reporter who had the nerve to throw a hardball question right at Weiner about his wiener.
"I'm going to have to ask that we follow some rules here and one of those being you ask the questions and I answer the questions, does that seem reasonable?"
Weiner says his Twitter was hacked which is how the picture of him standing in grey briefs showing off his bulging wiener was sent to a college student he follows on Twitter. Apparently the wiener was doing the leading.
Would he really be stupid enough to send a picture of his wiener to someone?
ReplyDeleteSo someone hacked into his twitter AND his cell phone camera to first get the picture to send via Twitter? Unlikely.
ReplyDeleteI live in downtown DC. I see these aspring idiots every day. This guy totally sent it.
ReplyDeletewhat a weiner. (sorry, couldn't resist)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure it was a picture of his weiner. It was a random picture of someone (no face). At least that's how it was written about in the news report that I read.
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine he would send a public tweet like that, so I'm guessing it could have been hacked.
It's fucking Andrew Breitbart trying to get him out in trouble. His website is the one that reported the nonstory. The corporations controlling the GOP have to draw attention away from Paul Ryan's Medicare-killing bill people. Wag the dog, man, wag the dog.
ReplyDeleteyou can only use the "I got hacked" excuse so many times. I love the media is trying to get a criminal investigation going on "his behalf" becuase hacking a senator's account is criminal activity and he wants nothing to do with that. He got married a year ago. So it is not like he is single and was just playing around.
ReplyDeleteI think if you are going to throw the "I got hacked" excuse you better have the truth behind you to cover your ass.
God, I love twitter.
I'm a little surprised at you Enty for being so quick to believe this, as this "story" comes from Andrew Breitbart. Yes, the same Andrew Breitbart who was responsible for Shirley Sherrod losing her job, before it came to light the hoax he had perpetrated.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to Bob Cesca calling the whole thing a scam.
http://bobcesca.com/blog-archives/2011/06/an-open-letter-to-cable-news-people.html
@Dianne - of COURSE he could be this stupid! Remember that married idiot congressman who was trolling for women by posting a picture of himself naked from the waist up flexing his muscles? I don't care what party they belong to - these politicians ALL believe they're above normal conduct and totally entitled to do whatever they want to whoever they want.
ReplyDeleteWhat we need are term limits - at least we'd get rid of them after a few years - just to get a new crop of idiots in office. Both parties are equally corrupt, decadent and have overwhelming senses of entitlement.
I'm going to make myself a drink now.
I can't believe this is even a story. I caught something on CNN earlier today and there was lots of hand-wringing, with the anchor actually saying "The congressman had not actually denied the picture was of him." Um, yes he did. He did the very first day this was reported about, I saw the live clip. The last thing he said about it was "I guess the weiner jokes never end." So wtf? Much ado about nothing. Really weird, imo.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is a story at all. Andrew Breitbart is involved.
ReplyDeleteAnd if anyone understands how Twitter works, then a hack or prank is exactly what this looks like.
In what world does someone believe Andrew Breitbart?
Well now Weiner says he can't say with certitude that the picture isn't him. So obviously he's had pictures taken of his little weiner before - and he's not dealing well with the publicity.
ReplyDeleteCongress = parasites - every one of them.
A world where Glenn Beck is respected, a TV "minister's" rants about the end of the world make the news for days, and Sarah Palin is expected to run for President.
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ, we are fucking doomed.

ReplyDeleteWas the weiner a big weiner or a little weiner? Because if the picture weiner is bigger than the real weiner then I think he would claim the picture weiner regardless if it was really his weiner or not. I mean, guys send pictures of weiners all the time and they are impostoweiners. Somehow guys think when you see the real weiner you won't know the difference. I can tell you, I can tell the difference between a picture weiner and a real weiner, as I am sure most of you can!
ReplyDelete@__-__=__
ReplyDeleteImpostoweiner? OMG, that's hilarious.
I heard on the news that the FBI and Capitol Police said that they are not investigating.
ReplyDeleteWeiner should ask for Bohner's help.
ReplyDeleteAngela, you just made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, the compromising pics reportedly were of a Bohner.
ReplyDeleteI've been following this story and reading many more angles of it than I probably should. Interesting to see Enty's take on it, and the exaggeration he employs. My favorite moment of the whole silly mess was Jon Stewart, who has known Anthony Weiner for years, showing the picture and saying no way that is his former roommate because he's 'more Anthony and less Weiner'.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with Rep. Wiener having that photo on his computer or his cell phone, that's between him and his wife. I have no problem with him not getting the FBI or anyone else involved if he does not believe there was a serious breach of his personal accounts or his Congressional accounts (he's a Rep, not a senator). I don't see why he would have sent it to a young woman that he had never previously communicated with, that part doesn't make sense to me. I just want to know, if that isn't Weiner's crotch, who does it belong to and can we see the rest of him?!?!?!?!
You know, funny that no one mentions the girl it was sent to -- she's a college student in Seattle, has never met the Congressman and has never had any kind of inappropriate exchanges between him and her. Yet the pic was sent to her only -- and Breitbart found out about it? HOW? I cannot imagine anyone that follows the Congressman would give damaging information to Breitbart. This is just a way for the Right to try to shut Weiner up -- he's their worst nightmare (a Democrat that isn't afraid of them).
ReplyDeleteGood point. What's her relationship with Breitbart or any of his people? I'm not saying she's in on at all, but if she was randomly picked by Breitbart then he's a sociopath of the first order.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'm completely jumping the gun and saying he's behind it all. It's more his style anyway.
Oh, off topic, don't wish for term limits. They do not solve anything. We have them here in California, they are a large part of the reason this state is such a mess, short term "employees" have no motivation to engage in long term planning, and all the policy expertise is gone. I was in Sacramento, I saw it first hand.
ReplyDeleteStatement from the "recipient" of the photo
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2011/05/29/2011-05-29_statement_from_gennette_cordova_student_who_was_sent_lewd_twitter_photo_from_rep.html
Jon Stewart devoted a segment to this last night and pointed out inconsistencies in the pic posting that bloggers (!!!) have found that "respected journalists" have not bothered looking into.
ReplyDeleteBreitbart cannot be believed and why others would take up a story he was the first to report is beyond belief.
I'm just as tired hearing about it as he is.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Rose. What he does with his weiner is between him and his wife. I couldn't care less.
ReplyDeleteIt just irritates the hellfire out of me that Republicans are so worried about a picture of his cock when they should be putting this much effort into creating jobs, balancing the budget, resolving the issues overseas, taking care of the poor and the homeless, and leaving Planned Parenthood the fuck alone.
I hate them all.
Here's an explanation how the photo was sent out on Weiner's account. I can't verify its veracity, but it is interesting.
ReplyDeletehttp://cannonfire.blogspot.com/2011/06/weiner-affair-close-to-solution-but-i.html
He sent it. If he didn't, why doesn't he want the FBI to investigate who is hacking into his accounts? Why doesn't he just say, No, I didn't send it to her? And this college student is one of only 198 Twitter users that he follows. They obviously communicate.
ReplyDelete@FS -- the article is gone -- I wonder why?
ReplyDelete@Netta -- read it, tried it.It sure makes a good case for what happened.
@CarolMR got proof? Because I am sure the FBI would be interested in knowing how YOU know all of this.
More proof of the 'hacking' http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/05/29/980400/-Breitbarts
ReplyDeleteCindy, the article is still there, it was just a bad link (too long). Try this one: http://nydn.us/layZkZ
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of Twitter people on my follower's list with whom I don't have regular communication. Just throwing it out there.
ReplyDeleteGiven the political climate, I don't rule anything as unlikely anymore.
Thanks FS -- It's ridiculous what these SOB's put innocent Americans through for political gain.
ReplyDeleteInteresting @FS
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't make sense that an account would be hacked and the picture sent to ONE person....but Cordova made her response to the NYDN so I guess that's that.
LOL @ her being referred to as "Femme Fatale of Weinergate,"
I have an alternative theory. It's his. He sent it to his wife, and during a lucid moment, when she really wondered wtf she was doing married to this jerk, SHE twittered it. I understand the yfrog photo storage of twitter is easy to hack, get the username and you are on the account, no password needed. But he's behaving so oddly for either a guilty man OR an innocent one. So I think he knows who sent it and wnats it to go away. What a fight that must have been!
ReplyDeleteAngela - that is too funny!!
ReplyDeleteHe just admitted sending the pictures. Pictures PLURAL.
