Victoria Beckham Schedules C-Section For The 4th Of July

Well, I guess Victoria Beckham will not be sitting in front of her computer reading the reveals on the 4th of July. I guess David could read them to her from his phone. Apparently in an effort to prove how patriotic they are, the couple has found a doctor willing to blow off the holiday and deliver their baby on July 4th. If they were in Canada they would have done the 1st. I did not actually realize that Victoria Beckham was that far along. She just started showing the other day. You would think when someone weighs 95 pounds and they have had previous kids they would start to show sooner. She is like 8 months pregnant and just now got out of her size zeroes.

  1. You can schedule c-sections for certain days?? So even if she isn't in labor, is she going to force it so she can have her baby?

  2. Hmmm does she plan on calling the kid Independence Beckham?

  3. the rich and famous do it all the time, and get a tummy tuck at the same time, if you have enough money, you can tell the doctor what to do! unbelievable!

  4. It's not just for the rich and famous. A friend of mine had a baby 2 years ago. Scheduled C-section. She picked the date.

  7. Scheduled C-Sections are totally common, especially if certain risk factors exist. No big deal.

  8. Wasn't it Betheny Frankel who scheduled her C-Section a month before her due date so she wouldn't get too big? Or is that just the rumour?

  9. I'm 23 and I was a scheduled C-section. My mom picked my dad's bday then decided she was tired of waiting and moved it up a week. My brother was an emergency C-section 2 years earlier...

  10. My sister scheduled all 5 of hers. She had to have C sections anyway so this way she could plan for them.

Both of my children (22 and 13 yrs old) were planned C-Sections and I picked the date. Very common place. The younger one would have been born on April Fools Day if my doctor prevailed. I said HELL NO and she was born on the 2nd.

  12. How can it be patriotic if Victoria is English?

  14. When you know in advance you're having a c-section the date is always scheduled. It's only not if you go into labor and end up needing a c-section.

  15. trouble bubble, she's taking back the colonies one vote at a time?

I like Liberty rather than Independence, personally. Or really freak people out and call her Georgina or some other shout-out to George III!

  17. RocketQueen,
I think that is just a rumour, probably started by Jill Zarin. Lol. Bethanny's reality show showed her going into labour, but she had to have a c-section because of some complications.

  19. Posh not only found a doc willing to work holidays but one willing to deliver a 7 month fetus. The good news is the baby will be better fed.

I don't care about scheduling the c-section, but deliberately saying she wants to have the baby in the US ought to alert the feds because she's basically setting her kid up to claim US citizenship. When poor women try and do this, they get deported. I get she's rich and that means she can flout the law and get away with it, but still...

  22. ^^ I have a couple of American friends who are totally coming up here to give birth because they want their kid to have Canadian citizenship and access to Canadian health care for him/her. Can't say I blame them.

  23. @D - I'm pretty sure if the Beckhams want US citizenship, they could easily get it. After all, David has been living and working in the US (so presumably their family all has green cards) for 5 years now, and at a certain point you are eligible to apply for citizenship. I'm sure he qualifies on his own merits. I'm sure they are simply having the baby there because they live there, at least a good portion of the time.

@RocketQueen - I hope your friends have looked into this... it might not be so easy for them to get across the border once she is really pregnant. Border officials are trained to look out for that situation, and my question her extensively about her plans for giving birth, and may even block her from entry if they're not sure she plans to go back to the US prior to giving birth. A note from a doctor may help. One of my good friends is a Canadian customs officer, she has spoken of this situation before.

  24. Scheduled C-sections aren't really that good for mom or baby, though. In some cases it is necessary, but in others it does more harm than good. According to WHO, the optimal c-sec rate is between 5-10%. The US now has a record breaking 31,8%.

  25. I didn't know that scheduling a date for a C-section was the norm but seriously, the 4th of July?

This is totally a publicity thing - the Beckhams don't do anything without publicity. And yes, I guess 'America' or something equally 'fitting' will probably be the poor child's name.

All the people on here that go on about Tom & Katie being crazy, this is the British version.

    Truly awful.

  26. call the kid Indy. thats pretty cool. lol

I can't believe its been 5 years!!! I remember their show they had. I remember that night. I missed the first 20 mins.

  27. I still think she has a surrogate. She will stop wearing the pillow on July 4th.

And G-d help that little girl.

  28. @Char - I used to be a border official myself - it can definitely be done ;)

  29. @linnea --- adding on to your statement:

It bothers me that people act like scheduled c-sections are totally normal. I understand c-sections do have to happen on occasion, but the United States is the only country in the developed world to have such a high rate of the practice despite the fact that we are number 33 in infant mortality (behind most of Europe)!
