Today's Blind Items #2
This former B+ list movie actress has had a mess of problems over the past few years. Lets face it, she is one big drugged out and boozed out shell of what she used to be. Blessed with a chance to get back into the game, she is blowing it. Literally. Her drug habit is so bad that she has already signed over her entire paycheck for her next movie to the drug dealers she owes. The problem is that she has fallen so far off the wagon that she might not even get that paycheck.
Could it be Lohan ?

ReplyDeleteOK, I've got to throw this out there, because I've been really curious about what has happened to Helen Hunt. I don't think she looks well, nor has she for a long time, and she's gone from making some great movies and TV to making ... some stuff, and not even every year.
ReplyDeleteI know there's a "rule" that if they win an Oscar they're automatically A-list, but I don't think she would have ever opened a movie.
So I'm throwing her into the hat.

ReplyDeleteIf Lindsay was ever B+ it would have been for a short time back in 2004. I'd guess Mischa but she was no movie star. Lindsay was partying last week with Shenae Grimes and she was out partying this past Saturday night. Did she even sign on officially to that Gotti movie? Word is Al Pacino will now be in it too.

ReplyDeleteIt's gotta be Kirsten Dunst. She showed such promise in her earlier movies and the Spiderman series, but now she seems like a mess.

ReplyDeleteI think Helen Hunt is gay (not that she also can't be an addict). Lohan is definitely not B+. I like the Kiki guess, but what about Emma Watson? Lainey has been hinting that she's turning into one of those drunken starlets.

Helen Hunt had a baby and I know she directed a film a year or so ago...and that's all I've got...

Doesn't sound like Emma Watson. She's worked steady for 10 years. She's never really been out of the game. Neither has Kirsten Dunst.

ReplyDeleteI would have said Winona Ryder but her only project lined-up so far is a voice gig for a Tim Burton animated movie. Not a very big "chance to get back in the game".

ReplyDeleteWas Whitney Houston ever a B-list actress? It's reported she's been banned from Prince's shows for repeatedly demanding free tickets, showing up an "intoxicated" mess and trying to get on stage with him, which his people prevent to save her from "embarrassing" herself. With the stories of her doing lines at the hotel bar in Beverly Hills and "cracking up" on her most recent tour, this is quite possibly her.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Lohan was definitely B+. After "Mean Girls", she was in "A Prairie Home Companion" with Kevin Kline and MERYL effing STREEP, "Bobby", which had an all-star cast, and "Georgia Rule", with Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman. The girl was well on her way, and back then, talk of her getting an Oscar one day actually made sense. Now, of course, it's laughable.

I'm going with Whitney. Even though she's mainly a singer its true about her doing the Waiting To Exhale sequel.
ReplyDeleteToday on the Wendy show, Wendy actually started crying just talking about Whitney. She basically said Whitney has no business being in out patient rehab, she needed to check herself in to a live in rehab. She showed a picture of Whitney completely strung out on drugs and said she's been there herself and that she's on to how bad Whitney's addiction is.
At the height of her career Winona was at least A-.

I doubt it's Whitney simply because I doubt she is broke.
ReplyDeleteWinona had a key but small role in Black Swan (as the aging dancer that look-alike younger Natalie Portman ousts). I mean that's the role that blessed her with a change to get back in the game. I don't care how small the role she won as a result of that turn -- or if it's just a voice-over in an animated film -- it could be her. The Lohan guess just isn't sitting right for some reason, not that I would know.

ReplyDeleteI second the Tara Reid guess. There were some pics on celebitchy of her looking TORE UP and a story about how one of her veneers fell off while she was partying. She picked it up and glued it back on. Ew.

ReplyDeleteI would put Lohan as a B+ back in her Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, etc. days. She was so cute in Parent Trap. It's sad that a girl with such promise turned out such a mess and I'm probably the only one that wishes she could turn it around. Both parents are a disaster.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kirsten Dunst. She was everywhere a few years ago, and she's had a rumored drug problem. I don't think Lohan was ever B list, or if she was, she was only there for a very short time.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe anyone is suggesting Helen Hunt for this. She was getting S1M an episode in the last year of Mad About You, unlikely she is down to signing over her next paycheck. Similarly there has been no public drunkeness or drug use (although I believe there are a few interviews where she discusses smoking weed in her youth). Her cardinal sin, at least by Hollywood standards, is that she got older. Like some other actresses, Sharon Stone comes to mind, she was in her mid-30s before she hit it big and had only a few years of movie stardom before she hit 40 and became over the hill. Helen turns 48 next month and frankly she looks it but that seems more her avid surfing, where the sun has left her leatherly, than substance abuse. She was always a dedicated actress and I suspect she is counting the days until she comes back in mature character roles.

ReplyDeleteSaw Helen Hunt playing Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing at LA Shakespeare a couple of months ago. (great show with Lyle Lovett leading the house band!). She looked great. Happy. (and looked a lot better in person than she has sometimes in her recent movies.)

ReplyDeleteHelen Hunt was wonderful in "What Women Want" with Mel Gibson. I always liked her way of speaking...her speech patterns. She is a 'one of a kind' actress.
