Rick Springfield Given Favorable Treatment In Malibu Arrest
Apparently everything Rick Springfield said when he was arrested two weeks ago was not entered into the official police report. TMZ is reporting that the police report stated Rick Springfield was belligerent when he was arrested for DUI. What Rick actually said was in fact, more than just belligerent. "If you tow my car I will f**king kill you and your family." Oh Blackie. This is the same police station where Mel Gibson was taken after his arrest and the famous sugar tits incident. I guess they have decided to self censor all police reports since then.
Er, Blackie Parrish was played by John Stamos, not Rick Springfield...
ReplyDeleteDr Noah Drake!
ReplyDeleteThat's sad. He was my first crush when I was little.
saw him play in concert in atlanta about 15 years ago, he was actually pretty awsome.
ReplyDeleteThe police were probably too busy laughing. Even drunk and pissed off he just looks pathetic.
ReplyDeleteYes, bflogurl is correct...
ReplyDeleteBlackie was John Stamos.
I agree with Looserdude.
ReplyDeleteHe was on a few episodes of Californication, and even his character seemed pretty washed up. Art immitating life?
I'm supposed to see him in concert at the end of this month. He had better not cancel!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, go ahead and make fun. I don't care. He was hot when I was 12, and he's hot now that I'm ... not 12.
I kinda like the police response to this mess: drunks say all sorts of wrong and stupid things when they're drunk, cuz their drunk. Give them a pass.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd say that even if he wasn't Dr. Drake
This is Malibu land of the rich white men. Who make the rules and Police follow them.
ReplyDeleteThe same station that tried to cover up Mel Gibson's rant and the officer who reported the truth went through hell becuase of it.
If you get drunk, just drive to Malibu and you will be fine. Unless you're black then you're f'd.
Aside from Jesse's Girl, does he have any other songs?
ReplyDeleteIsn't he 60 something? Nice face lift, guy!
"She's Got to be Somebody's Baby" which was Jennifer Jason Leigh's character's theme song in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. That was the perfect song for that character.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd be asking... but where's Rev. Al when we need him?
ReplyDeleteThank you bflogurl! I was like "Blackie"? Is that a Rick nickname I am unaware of? lol. anyway, unfortunate for him, and I actually agree with what JJ said, people say a lot of stupid ass shit while drunk. Regardless, not cool to be drinking and driving. A friend of mine works with Rick and quite a few projects and I think he's kind of a hard core partier, but also one of the nicest guys around....
ReplyDelete@Texshan -
ReplyDeleteI saw him in concert (for free, last year, NYS Fair) and it was fine until he felt a need to rip his shirt off and perform with his 60-year-old six pack. It was creepy.
you guys have seriously great 80s recollection...*off to down some ginko biloba*...am i twisted for thinking he looks kinda hot in that dui pic? *shamed*
ReplyDelete@looserdude -
ReplyDeleteShe's Got to be Somebody's Baby was not Rick Springfield, it was Jackson Browne.
Thanks, Snarky. I was about to correct Looserdude, too. And I would have clutched my pearls and swooned if I had been at that fair.
ReplyDelete"I've Done Everything For You," "Don't Talk to Strangers," "Celebrate Youth," all hits, along with several others, Looserdude.
Dude looks good for 60! I need his surgeons number.
ReplyDeleteOops. Pass me the ginko.
ReplyDeleteHow soon before he's on Celebrity Rehab or co-hosting The World's Dumbest "_____" with Leif Garrett, Danny Bonaduce and Tonya Harding?
ReplyDeleteI had a crush on him for more than 25 years. Then I read his bio. What an asshole.
ReplyDeleteThinking about his arrest for domestic violence a few years ago, I no longer am willing to entertain the possibility that his sister-in-law overreacted as he claimed.
Asshole.
How dare you call him Blackie!!! That is my teen dream John Stamos! Springfield was Dr. Noah Drake.
ReplyDeleteI still like the Rickster. I think has some pretty cool song lyrics. Besides he was drunk and at least he did not say anything racially inflaming. He did not say any racial slurs about the cop or his family.
Rickster has a history of bi-polar disorder and my guess was he did not take his meds.
Am I *really* the only person that remembers the cartoon "Mission: Magic" from the 70's? He did the voice for himself as one of the main characters. I feel so old. :-(
ReplyDeleteAlso, he was in TigerBeat back in the day. *sigh*
I don't know how I feel about censoring the reports....humiliation factor may make him think twice about getting behind the wheel.
ReplyDeleteHe threatened to kill the officer's family when they were going to tow his Corvette...typical drunk talk. Hope he feels like a jack ass.
