Paula Abdul And Her Magical Brownies
Who knew that Paula Abdul enjoyed pot? I guess it makes sense, but hasn't she always said she does not do drugs? Then what can we make of Kara DioGuardi eating so many pot brownies at Paula's house that Kara ended up in the hospital. Last night Kara was on George Lopez and said she was at Paula's house one night. Paula was there, sitting on hired immigrants for the night, when she offered Kara something to eat. Kara, who had not eaten all day said yes, and soon a plate of brownies was placed before her. Kara ate six of them and instead of throwing them up like a good television personality, they kicked into overdrive and "Six hours later I was like, 'What's going on?'" she said. "I fell out of bed, on the floor and stumbled down stairs ... and the ambulance comes, and this guy is like, 'This b-tch is high as a kite!"
Kara says the brownies were left by someone after a party. Uh huh. Please.
Welp. Nobody invite her over to your house for a party. She can't be trusted.
ReplyDeletePARTY FOUL. Kara's talkin' maaaaaad shit -- on a TALK SHOW, no less. What happens at Paula's house needs to stay at Paula's house.
ReplyDeleteThat said, anyone know where Paula lives? Her parties sound awesome.
I read the story that she was staying at Paula's house and FOUND the brownies herself and ate them without advice. Paula was NOT there. Enty is making it sound as if Paula is irresponsible enough to drug someone without their knowledge. Not cool, Enty.
ReplyDeletei hadn't quite heard this enty version...i call crap on all of it tho. 6 brownies? that's a lot even for foodie mcfoodersons, isn't it, considering pot brownies are normally not fun-size? she's itty bitty, even if she binged, that's a lot to scarf down.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Bruno reference Enty lololol
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Ida- that is some serious snitching right there, dayum :P
I've read a couple of versions of this, and all I have to say is: anyone who actually ever believed Paula Abdul has "never done drugs" or drinks is crazy. That chick loves to get messed up. Brownies were obviously hers.
ReplyDeleteOh, and btw, dont know if this is TMI or not but baked edibles scare me. With pot normally you can see how much you doing but with edibles the few times Ive done them I usally eat more than I should cause it takes so damn long to kick in sometimes. I have almost been in Kara's place. Not 6 but 2 HUGE pieces of triple layer chocolate pot cake and I was not feeling good a few hours later.
ReplyDeleteIt coulda happened to anybody, so I feel this chick's pain
Can I get the recipe??
ReplyDeleteeat three brownies...get the munchies, eat more. it can happen.
ReplyDeleteWhat Jax said. :-)
ReplyDeleteooooh! *enlightenment* thx jax & Ida...that puts it in a whole new perspective. hadn't considered that particular angle. hee.
ReplyDeleteHonestly RQ, when I read about this the first time, I thought "BODY BUZZ!!!" Paula's behavior all makes sense now.
ReplyDeleteI have a old friend who never smoked, but always had a permanent body buzz from eating it. When he drank or did pills, he slurred a lot like Paula.
@ Ida - I know, right? I want to hang with Paula. Maybe if I eat enough Brownies, MC ScatKat will show up, too.
ReplyDelete@Jasmine - It's all about moderation. I'm a pretty meaty guy and I was given a brownie that was about 2" by 2". I ate half one day and half the next day and I felt GOOD both days. The first time I ever ate magic brownies, though...I ate half a tray and couldn't move for fourteen hours. And as a result, pot's the ONLY thing that calms me down or makes me sleep. It's all about responsible moderation and having someone monitor you.
Shame on Kara. No tattling.
Shit, I've gotten completely wasted on 2 brownies, I can see scarfing down more in a munchie-induced state. There is nothing like the munchies to make you eat. Why do you think doctors originally gave it to anorexic chemo patients?
ReplyDeleteDid you know that 25% of the population does not get effected by digestion? I always wondered why everyone was diving into the brownies and having a great time while I didn't even get to enjoy the taste of chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI know this because I have a MM card, and I was given freeby candies to try to test whether I was one of the unfortunate ones. Bummer!
@msgirl - That is interesting. I do know it takes about an hour after eating for me to feel the effects, but I didn't know that there were people who were immune to the digestive route of administration. Do other oral narcotic pain medications work for you?
ReplyDeleteI personally don't like to smoke, it's the reason I quit smoking pot in college.
I oddly find Paula hot. Can't explain it. I'd have to refrain from the brownies though. Me and drugs do not mix. I don't even drink.
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss - I haven't taken many narcotic pain meds, so can't say, but that's an interesting question. And I use a vaporizer - no smoke.
ReplyDelete@Pookie - I thought the same thing (re: 6 brownies) too until I read Jax's post. ;)
ReplyDelete@RocketQueen - Yeah I've never believed that either. It would be like Anna Nicole Smith saying the same on an episode of her show.
I want a brownie now.
I believe she got high as fuck, I just think her story is a bit off. Pot brownies do not taste like regular brownies.

ReplyDeleteDoesn't Kara have an eating disorder? Would she really eat even one brownie? I think she is subtly trying to dis Paula.
