Oprah Wants To Act On Broadway

Since her talk show has been running so well, Oprah has had little time to do any acting. She did produce a version of The Color Purple for Broadway a few years ago, but has not actually got out there herself. Well, she told The Chicago Tribune now that her show is ending she is probably going to do something on Broadway. I wonder if she will be any good. I wonder if she will be nervous to have it be a bomb. She can certainly pick and choose which show is the most likely to succeed, but she also might want to pick a show that is already playing and jump in as a guest for a few weeks. After so many years of being on top, you know it must be scary to be exposing yourself to not only to bad reviews but to a crowd that might never show up despite the Oprah name.

  1. She probably acts 80% of her day anyway. Plus, she was excellent in The Color Purple.

  4. She wants it all! Nominated for Oscar, multiple Emmy winner....now a Tony? The woman never stops. I personally don't care for her show, but I gotta give her props for working her ass off and achieving success.

I am glad that she pushes herself to keep growing as a person. I think she can pretty much do anything (other than lose weight and keep it off, but most people can't either) that she wants to. She makes me proud she is a woman and I cannot say that about many female celebrities.

  9. If she could sing I could see her in the Pearl Bailey role of Hello Dolly.

  10. Yes to everything RocketQueen said.

I think she might actually be quite good on Broadway. She's a smart lady. She'll make the right decision.
