New Brad Pitt Movie Booed At Cannes
Terence Malick has always been kind of a no show when it comes to anything public. The problem is this time, Brad Pitt probably could have used him. Shortly after Terence's film, Tree Of Life debuted in Cannes to a mix of boos and applause, Brad was left with the chore of facing cameras and reporters without the director. He defended the director's absence saying that an artist should not have to be salesperson. See, I think that is wrong. They do not have to be. That part I agree with, but if you take Hollywood money to make your art, then I think you have to sell. Can you imagine Brad Pitt telling the world he was not going to promote a movie because he is an artist and not a salesperson?
Anyway, while people did boo, the reviews have generally been a lot of kiss ass reviews because I think every reporter wants to kiss ass the hardest so maybe Terence will give them an interview.
