Maria Shriver Moves Out
It's been 25 years of listening to corny jokes, watching him grope women and always saying he will be back when he heads off to the bathroom. Now though it is over as Maria Shriver has walked away from the home she shared with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now Arnie is free to resume his movie career and not have Maria watching over his shoulder when Arnie decides he needs some alone time with one of the extras on the set.
I am actually shocked the marriage lasted this long. They never seemed like a good match, but there must have been something. I think the past few years though they must have been counting the days until the end of his term so they could end the marriage. I don't think it is a coincidence that his term ends and Maria is out the door a few months later.

ReplyDeleteYeah I knew his rep, I just figured she had the mindset to deal with it. (Please note: I'm not saying ANY woman should HAVE to deal with it, just that some do) and that she accepted him as is.
They were done putting up a front for political reasons, and the kids are older now. I think the marriage has been over for a really long time, and now they are free to move on.

So sad. Hilary put up with it with Bill...and it's now coming out that Obama and Michelle were seperated until he decided to run for President. Then she got back together with him for image.

ReplyDeleteMaybe now she can smile every once in a while and perhaps, just maybe, eat a sandwich. Maria is hard-to-look-at skinny. She was being interviewed not long ago and all I could do was stare at her very scary witch fingers at the end of those stick arms. I have no idea what she said.

There was a blind item about this on Gawker. I'm sure there have been a few others. I thought she would leave as soon as he left Sacramento. They never even lived in the state capital and have been living apart for a while.

Politics aside, it was always refreshing about GWB and his love for Laura. Chivalry is so dead in DC, but you never heard anything about Bush running around on her. And I quite liked that, actually.
@Susan - funny you mention the Bushes, because hasn't there been a ton of speculation that he and Laura separated towards the end of his second term? The rumors were that he started drinking again so she left him, but I haven't heard much about it since then. Anyone?

ReplyDeleteUm, I worked for a family member of the Obamas before, during, and after the 2008 election and I can guarantee that, with them, what you see is what you get- they are obviously in love, and have never even come close to seperating!

Yeah....GWB & Laura weren't even living together in the White House sometime in his 2nd term, he was rumored to be a raging alcoholic and it was so well known they stopped even trying to hide Laura was living in a hotel. It was all over Ted Casablanca's blinds.

ReplyDeleteWhat I remember reading about Obama & Michelle was that they've had their ups & downs (like pretty much everyone), but they do love each other and are very committed to their kids. Apparently she was NOT terribly happy when he first starting running for elective office, though; the quote I remember was along the lines of "I married you because you were cute and smart, but this is the dumbest thing you've ever done!", and she wasn't necessarily keen on his running for President at first. (Based on what I've read over the years, this is actually pretty common for First Ladies--living in a goldfish bowl really, really sucks.
ReplyDeleteAlso, while I'm not particularly crazy about GWB (to put it mildly), I'm more inclined to attribute any marital issues he & Laura had were due to his drinking problems rather than infidelity; he's lucky to have her, and I suspect he knows that. She's looked SO much happier since they left the White House--she always looked rather tense, and now she seems so much more relaxed and at ease.

ReplyDeleteHer dad died relatively recently and, I know from experience, how traumatic that can be. Her mom died August of 2009 and her father passed away after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. That's a lot to happen in such a short time.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was watching the announcement on the Today Show, my first thought was that Maria may really want to go back to work. She left her job at NBC when Arnold ran for governor. I guess she could have started working now that he is out of office, but, maybe she feels she has to start over.
Remember, she is a Kennedy. Philandering or smiling while your husband is cheating on you is their way.
The Obama rumor is as rooted in fact as the birth certificate rumor. There's also a rumor that Malcolm X was his dad and that Michelle was caught on tape using the term "whitey". This is where you will find these "separation " rumors. Something for the right wing crazies to hold onto because they can't believe this democratic couple is THE one real marriage in politics, while their family values politicians are anything but. Oh, and they're black and only white people can be happily married in TeaBag land. It's sheer jealousy and hatred and there's no evidence to support it.
ReplyDeleteObama himself wrote in his book how Michelle was not happy about his political ambitions and was very vocal about it. They went through a rough patch when he ran for Congress in 2000 but never separated. It's all in his second book so this is no rumor. And they certainly weren't separated before he ran for President.
You can't fake what they have. Look at the pictures and the way they interact. If that's fake, then they deserve Oscars. Teabag fantasies are simply bullshit. Not gossip.
