Happy Anniversary - The Contract Is Over

Adrianne Curry and Christopher Knight have called it quits. According to Hollyscoop, the couple announced they were divorcing on their 5th anniversary. I also wonder if that is the date the contract ended. This is one of the strangest relationships ever. It was reality based from the start. Adrianne became someone when she won the first season of ANTM. She then moved on to The Surreal Life, another reality show where she met Christopher Knight and defying all logic seemed to actually like the has been star from 20 years ago who was almost 30 years older than Adrianne. Despite the fact she and Christopher had nothing in common except for a fondness at staring at her breasts, the couple married and then proceeded to have their own reality show. I think Adrianne envisioned the kind of success the Kardashians are having now, but has realized after numerous tries that it was no longer going to work. People just don't care about her like that so she needs to try again with someone else.

I watched this show once or twice when I was in bed with the flu. Mr. Knight is quite the misanthrope, sort of a textbook study in childhood stars who essentially hate their fame that crested decades ago, and in turn everyone around them, all as a means to avoid looking in the mirror.

  2. Christopher Knight and Seth McFarlane could be brothers.

Other than that - I don't realu care about them.

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Smoked brisket at my house, yo.

  3. Oh, goody. A post that I can actually shed light on.

I'm going to sit back and watch everyone throw out their half-cocked theories (Enty...you are so very wrong about this) before throwing in a nugget or two of truth.

  4. I know I'm going to be in the minority here, but I actually liked the two of them together. I watched the Surreal Life season in which they got together, and I follow her on Twitter. She comes off as kind of vain and attention-seeking sometimes, but she's also incredibly intelligent and I truly believe she loves/d Chris. I'm sorry they couldn't make it work.

  5. @Nightmare Child - shed some light on this one pls .... whats the truth

  6. I think she may have been a little young for that measure of scheeming ... to me it seemed she actually loved and cared about him. I think she was just a little young to get married...the american divorce story...but honestly this is sad...I would have loved to have seen them make it

  7. When's the Katie and Tom contract up?

Don't say that:) Seth is my boyfriend. He uh...just doesn't know it.
Seriously though, Seth has more talent in an elbow wrinkle than Bobby Brady ever displayed.

  9. She'll be showing up everywhere now in that Princess Leia bikini trying to land herself a new sugar daddy.

  10. Wasn't Chris married when they got together? Seems like I remember that being part of the story that was kinda overlooked/kept quiet. And if he was, the "contract" aspect doesn't make a lot of sense.

She's also incredibly annoying and emo. Probably why Nightmare Child relates.

    Can't stand her.

I had to look up emo, and it's funny as hell: [An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality. The concept of Emo is actually a vicious cycle that never ends, to the utter failing of humanity]

Or: [A group of white, mostly middle-class well-off kids who find imperfections in there life and create a ridiculous, depressing melodrama around each one. They often take anti-depressants, even though the majority don't need them. They need to wake up and deal with life like everyone else instead of wallowing in their imaginary quagmire of torment.]

Nightmare Child, you can go ahead and spill it. This thread won't have too many comments. These two idiots aren't that popular.

  13. ooo, does that mean you know one or both of them personally, Nightmare Child? Spill! I don't know or care much about either of them, but if ya got something good, share!

@Jessice: I think the name Nightmare Child might be a Dr. Who reference, which is more sci-fi geek than emo. Not that there's anything wrong with being either or both, lol.

what? adrienne likes black meat and you gave her a ride? well, i would cheat if i was married to chris. btw, if you are not going to put out info, then shut up about it.

  15. I'll check back later when Nightmare Child has finished the parade and picnic, and treats us to dessert!

  16. @shiny_special_one - FINALLY!!!! SOMEONE GETS THE REFERENCE!!!!!!!! Yes, I am a huge Doctor Who fan and that's where the name comes from. ^_^

To answer everyone's question, yes, I know Adri personally. And yes, there are two sides to every story. In this case, it's a matter of age & lifestyle differences, Adri's personal issues (of which there are many) and Chris's inattentiveness as a husband.

Basically, Chris kept getting annoyed with her about stupid shit and she needs to work on her issues. That's about it, really. Nothing horribly scandalous.

And I love how all the trolls came out to play. <3 you guys.

  17. I think they had chemistry when they met and genuinely like each other they just petered out. Pun intended. ;) They don't have a lot in common and they have a big age difference. They lasted longer than many Hollywood marriages.

    Nightmare Child, why?

  18. Never mind you answered, I just don't know why you would announce you'll announce the info later. Kinda lame.

What you said makes sense, and is exactly what you saw on their TV show. I'm not implying that you're not her friends. I'm saying it's been obvious from the get-go and there aren't a lot of crazy theories to suggest that I have seen.

  19. @Rose - If you look at the time stamp on my first post...and then my later posts, they're about three hours apart. That counts as later. Besides, everyone that's in the states is busy doing Memorial Day shit.

Sorry, everyone. It is what it is. I wish there was something about a monkey, a rubber nun outfit, some cheese curds and the Letter Q, but...nope.

  20. Dammit, still waiting for a good old Hollywood scandal with the letter Q. Tired of it trying to look so innocent all the time, hanging around with R. I know something is up.

  21. I never thought she was to YOUNG for him, but she was/is wayyyyy to IMMATURE for the kind of relationship she wanted with him. I "grew up" with the Bradys and feel like Chris is a brother figure. It was obvious he had lots of baggage from his first two marriages and needed someone with more life skills than AC has/had. The episode with Florence Henderson (who, I'm sure, kicked up her heels when she heard the news) was spot-on. Do you remember the episode when AC met the other Bradys? None of them liked her. RUN, CHRIS, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Ha, NC, I thought so! And thanks for the info. No matter that it wasn't terribly salacious (lmao @Hell's Kitty's comment). Not everything is. I do think that many "Hollywood" relationships are scripted and/or contracted, and I know a lot of weird shit goes on, but it's good to have a grounding reminder that sometimes, things aren't that complicated.

  23. I find them both annoying and attention whores. Neither one of them came off too great on their reality shows, but I think a lot of these has to do with them not being newsworthy. Did anyone even remember them? I had totally forgotten about them. How much you want to bet they are trying to get their separation taped for VH-1?

i'll rip ent a fresh asshole for his cockamamie theories, but even he did not spew any this time. rose...you want a fuckin' rose for your last comment. it's exactly what you saw on tv.

  25. I like Adrian!! I loved her on ANTM. I also watched Surreal Life and didn't get their pairing - seemed off to me & lo and behold. The fact that she had to hide her pot habit sealed the deal for me, you can tell that shits not gonna work if you can't be yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I like Adrienne if only for the simple fact she didn't tolerate Tyra's shit. Respect!

  27. I knew it was over when she went on Howard Stern and said they weren't having sex anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  28. NC - Glad my suspicions were correct. Although I'm sure they were nuts about each other, I always thought they were too different to make it work out long haul. Maybe age difference, but maybe even more introvert/extrovert thing.
    I hope it's a drama-free amiacable split.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, their marriage lasted longer than most. I like 'em - no hate here. And as always, the trolls can suck it. People who spread hateful shit all over the internet about people they've never met are pathetic LOSERS.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Sarah MacManus (lovely last name, by the way)- I hope it's drama-free, too. They're both scheduled to appear at Austin Comic-Con.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks, NC. I don't blame her a bit for snagging him up, I think he's a doll. But it's hard to have a common denominator when one of you is settling down and the other is just getting started. Been there, done that, sad but true. I hope they stay friends. They seem like nice people.

  32. Excuse me, but when you announce your divorce on your anniversary, that is a bid for attention. Has anyone read the crazy press release? It was so not needed! Why didn't they just tweet it? Curry tweets everything else!

Curry had already gone on Howard Stern and said their marriage was over and Knight was cheating on her. Let us not get into the whole anal sex thing she brought up about their wedding night or how much she would rather be with women.

These two put their private lives up for sale and should not be surprised if people have opinions about them. That's up there with Lilo calling the paps and complaining when they show up.

  33. I don't know anything about the relationship but I was on Trivial Pursuit, which Chris hosted. He was charming, sarcastic, funny, etc. Of course he could be totally different in his personal life, but I left with a little crush on him...and $14,900. :)
