Hangover 2 Sets Box Office Record
Although I am not really surprised that Hangover 2 eclipsed the $100 million mark for its opening weekend, I am shocked that it beat Kung Fu Panda 2. R rated movies never ever beat family movies, especially one with the base of Kung Fu Panda. Hangover 2 did just that at least domestically. Worldwide, the gap is much narrower and Kung Fu Panda might win. Hangover 2 grossed almost $140M this weekend domestically while Kung Fu Panda did almost $70M. It was a box office record for the weekend. Did you see either of them this weekend?
I took my little to see KFP2 and I will be taking my dad to see TH2 tonight :) I am stoked for the movie tonight..I liked KFP2 ...it was cute ..and no spoilers ( as if anyone here really cares that much! ) but I have neverseen a movie leave such an obvious open to a sequel ... it was sort of cheap I thought...but hey, whatever it takes to make a buck right?
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I went to see Hangover2 since the both of us were looking forward to it. Just going to say it was not that funny. It had it's funny moments but not as funny as the first one.
ReplyDeleteI've had quite the weekend, so I'm about to go escape and see a movie. I'm torn between seeing The Hangover or Bridesmaids. I've seen a couple of people say they didn't like TH2 as much as the first, but some of the reviews I'd read said it was just as funny as the first??
ReplyDeleteI love cartoons but never saw Kung Fu Panda (the 1st). I bet a lot of people took their kids to the Pirates movie this weekend...I know my sister did.
^^^Go see Bridesmaids.
ReplyDeleteI saw Bridesmaids yesterday. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't watch either of these. KFP1 wasn't that good, so I wasn't interested in KFP2. Everyone I talked to said HO2 is exactly like the first one except there's a monkey instead of a baby.
ReplyDeleteI got out to see the Pirates movie and it was good.
I saw KFP2 with my son and really enjoyed it! I will probably wait for Hangover2 to come out on DVD
