Caylee Drowned In The Pool?

I guess if you need to make up a defense, you might as well throw one out there that shocks everyone senseless enough that it may cause confusion and a not guilty verdict, but this is crazy. Yesterday, Casey Anthony;s attorney said that Caylee drowned in the family swimming pool and that Casey panicked and did not know what to do and lied about the child going missing to police and the reason she did all this was because she was scared and because she was sexually abused by her father when she was younger. Huh? "So, my dad sexually abused me so when my daughter drowned in the pool, I decided to lie about it." Makes no sense at all.

The attorney for Casey promised lots of testimony about the abuse. If Casey gets off, this will go down as the worst verdict ever. Does anyone think she is innocent?

  1. This is typical behavior of a true psychopath. She's even managed to manipulate her defense team. Wondering how they will explain the tape and her partying ways.

  2. I think I'd have to be privy to all the evidence to make a judgement about her guilt or innocence, but I see what they're doing by bringing up past abuse.

  3. NO! Sentence her to life, without the possibility of parole.

  5. Lots of transcripts online. She is guilty. Prosecution is doing well. She will fry.

  6. If you loved your daughter, why didn't you try to call an ambulance to see if she could be rivived. Sorry, I think she is lying.

  7. Her father was a police officer in Orlando/Orange County for years. Do you think that he was going to cover this up? Please. There is no way in hell that this was an accidental pool drowning. 100's of children in Florida drown every year in pools, that there is no way. As for this I was abused stuff. Her defense is trying to place this on everyone but her. Even going so far to go after the person that found her body.
I am not saying that this family-her parents-are saints. Remember the phone calls to 911 with the Mom screaming she has been missing for a month and I just found out? But I am saying that you can tell that they loved that baby. Casey better enjoy her time in segregation because I think that she will be dead within the year in general pop.

  8. I rarely proclaim who I think is guilty or innocent in stuff like this that is being tried in the press, but with every fiber of my being I believe this chick is nuts AND guilty as sin.

If you would care to direct me towards them, I would appreciate. The only ones I can find are crappy ones with Jane Valez-Mitchell's et al. crappy commentary.

  11. I take that back. I just thought about how he killed Laci and I'm sick.

  12. She is guilty. Someone who was innocent would not come up with the insane story she did after her mother found out caylee was missing. then she proceeded to drag the cops to a job she was fired from 2 years earlier and only when she gets there does she admit she was fired!she still told her parents she was going off to work and dropping caylee at the babysitters. God knows what she was doing all day everyday, but she wasn't working. I can only imagine what caylee saw and how she was treated by casey on those days. she is a liar, manipulator and murder.

  13. I have to say I was pretty shocked at the defense attorney's opening statement, especially the allegations of sexual abuse by her brother and father with her parents sitting right there in the courtroom. Who won't this trick throw under the bus to save her own ass?
I agree with Moosefan. I could believe her actions as a panicky cover-up after a pool accident, maybe, but at the behest of her police officer father? Ludicrous. And shameful on the part of her defense team to even present this as a valid scenario. How do these people sleep at night?

  14. Rose, how did he kill Laci?

While I don't doubt for a second she's guilty as hell, there's something off with the parents. I've had a weird feeling from the very beginning.

Why would Casey's father attempt suicide? Not that that means anything, but how can the Grandmother go from practially accusing Casey of murder in the 911 call to staunchly defending her?

    Something's just not right.

  15. I would just like to point out that my mom was repeatedly molested by her father & uncle. She got married at 19 to get out of the house & had me with my dad at 25. She is a broken person and a far from perfect mother. She, however, managed not to kill me. Or anyone else for that matter. In fact, despite all of her problems she's never committed any crimes. I can't even recall her receiving a speeding ticket.

Jurors are instructed to use their common sense and life experience when they evaluate the evidence. I hope when the jurors evaluate the evidence they will consider for a moment all the people they know who've been abused who went on to lead lives outside of the criminal justice system.

And if the grandparents in this case were complicit in Caylee's murder or the cover up, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

  16. I'm all for "innocent until proven guilty".
However in my decidedly non-legal eyes, the psychotic bitch needs to get the needle (or the chair, I don't know offhand which method Florida uses) and then roast in Hell.

  20. i was watching 'today' this morning and apparently being molested ruined her perception of right vs wrong, hence not reporting caylee drowning.

my one (of billions actually) question to the defense: if she drowned, why put the duct tape, with a sticker of her's, over her mouth?

  22. Yeah that's why she wrapped duct tape around and around her daughter's head and threw her in the woods for animals to eat and tattooed Bella Vita on her body days later and partied it up for a month following and lived in this "sexual abusers" home when she was an adult and had the means to move out and why she left her daughter in the presence of an "abuser" and.......

Um, no. I don't believe she's innocent and I'm not sorry, but proud to state so.

  23. I watched the opening statements on TruTV yesterday and thought the prosecution did an awesome job. And yeah, if this skank gets off it'll be a worse injustice than the O.J. trial.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What was the crazy statistic about the amount of children who are molested? Because they aren't killing everyone either.

I think the parents know she did it but don't want to convict her and that is what's off about them. Casey's mom had the most damning statement of all in her 911 call, that the car smelled like a dead body.

Calif- they don't know because her body had been in the water too long but she had been decapitated, her hands or part of her arms were missing, and part of one leg and the other foot. I think they assume it was done at their home. I lived with a hour or two and I remember coming home the day after christmas and watching the news with her first missing report like it was yesterday.

  25. That family really is strange. I don't know any of the background information or media stories, being a Canadian and all. So the opening defense statement I watched was pretty damn convincing.

I look forward to watching the prosecution's opening statement. I'll watch the stored videos.

  26. OMG...what a psycho/sociopath.

If the child drowned in the pool and was killed, then why did they find masking tape over Caylee's mouth with a heart sticker on it? If the child was dead already, then what need would there be need to cover her mouth to prevent her from screaming or talking?

Casey is a compulsive liar and has been in jail over a year now. You mean to tell me she couldn't cook up a better lie than that in all that time?

Also, if her child drowned in a pool and she knew it, why did she go out clubbing later that night? She wasn't even upset or showing any signs of remorse in the photos or with the people she was hanging with. She's a liar and a murderer.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The defense is going first? Doesn't the prosecution usually do that?

    ReplyDelete
  28. All of these comments are news to me. I didn't know any of these facts about the case.

  29. Calif- He attempted suicide because he's a former cop who raised a murderer, the apple of his eye grand baby was murdered by his own daughter, he's facing the potential loss of his child, his marriage is in shambles and he's facing the public scrutiny of his family on the media and outside his front door 24/7.

I think he may try suicide again after this horrible accusation of sexual molestation has now been thrown out there thanks to Casey.

  31. I think when you get a pool of 12 average people together to review the evidence using their common sense and life experience, they will see right through this bullshit and convict her.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Although it doesn't look good for Casey, I will reserve judgement till I hear more of the facts.

The truth is, the onus is on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. It is the defense's job to create and/or imply doubt. That is all they have to do. I think this will come down to good lawyering.

    ReplyDelete
  33. we're to believe that this doting grandfather threw his granddaughter's body out like trash, after not even calling 911 or attempting to revive her??
that his reaction was to yell at casey and say 'you'll go to prison for life for child neglect. your mother will never forgive you!'
that he's let her sit in jail for 3 years charged with 1st degree murder and has said nothing?

none of that makes any fucking sense. and this guy is WEAK----i'd bet my life he's never TOUCHED casey. he's just not the type. the women in his life have him completely buffaloed and he's afraid of them---not vice versa.

I cannot believe that she said that about her Father and her Brother. OMG!!!! I hope that after they convict this psychopathic BITCH that the general jail population has some fun with her awhile and then slowly kill HER. Hope she rots in HELL.

  35. I really don't get down with this real-life murder/porn. But I think this woman would be a perfect guest star on the upcoming season of Dexter-- for one episode, anyway.

BTW bet parents love the fact that they are paying her defense lawyers (I don't think she has any means of her own based on the little info I know) to say that she doesn't know right from wrong bc one of them molested her. Money well spent parents!

  36. Oh Rose, I had totally forgotten about Laci and her baby! What a horror that was!

OAN, I don't know if I'm just imagining this or not, but almost every photo of Caylee that I've ever seen never shows her smiling. She always seems to be expressionless. Just those huge, dark, empty eyes, but no smile or grin, nor showing any emotion -- good or bad.

I had noticed this before but yesterday on TV when the defense lawyer was talking, I was surpised when the network showed a photo of Caylee and she was semi-smiling! I honestly felt joy at that moment because I don't think I had ever seen her with a smile before.

Then it struck me that I don't recall ever seeing a teeth-baring grin on this baby. You know, like kids who are laughing while eating an ice cream or getting tickled or while being hugged.

Even on the Caylee Daily website, she isn't smiling in the photo of her in her sunhat on the home page nor the one here on this page:
    http://www.cayleedaily.com/2011/05/grandparents-get-caylee-anthony-name-trademarked/

Now, all these expression-less photos may have been hand-selected by the police or whomever for whatever purpose(s), but I have a feeling that this little girl had been living a nightmare for a very long time.

  37. Oh, I totally believe Casey killed her own child. And it is horrific and sad.

  39. Rose, Laci and I share a birthday and being from CA I was glued to the case (like O.J.). I just wondered what you had heard about her cause of death. The only speculation I remember was maybe suffocation due to an indentation on their bed. I thought her limbs, etc., were gone due to the length of time she had been in the water.

Scott's parents tried to cover for him too and look how far that got him? I wish the same for Casey.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think it's fair to compare her to that scumbag Peterson. He killed his wife because she got in the way of spending time with his mistress. Casey found a guy who spent his time in clubs to promote his work and her baby got in the way of her living that life.

It also reminds me of the mom who put her car in a lake with her sons inside because she was cheating with a man who didn't want to date a woman with kids. Susan something.

I think today's testimony showed how much of a sociopath (sp?) Casey truly is. The chair would be too good for her.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Does the state have a cause of death for Caylee? A time of death? Any case at all? Is the "experimental" evidence going to hold up on appeal? What if George is a molester and the abuse never stopped? Didn't she still live there? Did the FBI do a paternity test to see if George is baby daddy? <<<<< reasonable doubt

    ReplyDelete
  42. She killed her and threw her away like garbage. I doubt she has ever felt one second of guilt or remorse for what she did to that little girl. I hope there is an extra hot corner of hell reserved for her, and that it doesn't take very long for her to get there.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sue Ellen, you might also want to check out Investigation Discovery's site. Back when the story first broke, they had hundreds of pages of documents.

Lisa (not original) they did test both Lee, her brother, and her Dad to determine paternity. They are not Caylee's Dad.

Personally, I think this little broad is guilty as sin. However, it is a largely circumstantial case given how decomposed Caylee's was when she was finally found. I really hope we are not looking at a not guilty verdict but she is a skilled liar and who knows if people from Scientoloville will be able to see through her and Mr. Baez's bullshit. (I do not believe for a second that she was abused. Even if she was, that is no excuse for her pathological lying. And this fantasy about how Caylee's died drowning is just that, IMHO.)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think she is too Dani, I'm just thinking Scott did the cutting and that just makes it feel so much sicker in a small way.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't think the father's abuse enters anywhere into this, unless he's the one that killed the baby and the mom is too terrified of him to point the finger. Perhaps she killed the baby because she was afraid her father would molest her as well?

Is she a sociopath? Maybe. Why is she a sociopath?

I think the grandparents are a lot more involved in this than meets the eye. One sociopath killing off their child makes sense, but two grandparents who lived with both and didn't notice the kid was missing for a month does NOT make sense.

And women have been known to cover for their sexually abusive husbands... wonder if we'll ever get the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I remember hearing stuff about sexual abuse in the beginning and I have ALWAYS thought there was something suspicious about her parents.

But I don't believe a word that comes out of this girls mouth.

LOOK AT HOW MANY TIMES SHE HAS LIED OR OMITTED STUFF TO POLICE.

    She is guilty.

Lock her up and throw away the key. I feel that is a better punishment for her than the death penalty (if that is even an option?)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I was talking to someone about the case yesterday because I hadn't heard the sexual abuse brought up at all in the past. They thought Caylee was really the Dad's daughter. I don't really have a opinion on it but I thought I'd share it.
