Brendon Urie Breaks Ankle - Keeps Playing

I often wonder if this kind of injury happened to Beyonce or Mariah Carey if they would continue to play. Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco broke his ankle performing this weekend in Florida. I mean really snapped it like crazy, but managed to keep on playing and performing.

This is the epitome of "the show must go on"

  2. That isn't brave. It's gross and foolhardy.

Dude. Cut the show short. If your audience appreciates you, they will understand.

  3. I was passing out when I broke mine it hurt so bad. He must be high already to keep going. Wow.

  4. He's not a drug-head. Adrenaline can make you do un-human things.

  5. The way Beyonce dances and moves around on stage there is no way in hell she could keep performing. She would have to stop and seek medical attention.

The only thing Mariah moves is her hands when she is performing so she could keep going.

  6. this is the same guy who played a hard show where someone threw a bottle at him and hit him in the head - he came back and said "it's going to take more than that to bring us down" or something to that effect. He is becoming legendary for his stage shows. I saw them once 3 years ago and they were very good. Sat next to one of the guys parents in the balcony and just a nice bunch of people.

Can you tell I like these kids? :)

  7. I'm so proud of my little Panic! At The Disco! Makin' the big-time gossip blogs! Brendon Urie can get it (and has, from bandmate Dallon Weeks - willing to go where P!ATD stage gay has never gone before.)

  8. I like this band, too ;) Weren't they founded/produced by Pete Wentz or somethin'?

  9. Wow, he must have been in pain. I broke my foot some years ago jumping down some stairs trying to make my friend's laugh on a gloomy afternoon. The whole side of my shoe bulged out. I just layed my head on the table and waited for somebody to take me to the hospital. Boy, it hurt. I wasn't smiling about it like Brendon did. But I was lauging about it a few days later. "Anything to make you guys laugh" I'd say to my friends.

I wonder what Gaga would do? Probably lie on her back and stick it up in the air for the rest of the show.

  10. Jason - the Gaga comment was priceless! Stick the foot up in the air and say that she's making a statement about.... something....

And that's a good thing 'cuz girl can't dance.

Reminds me of Zach from A Chorus Line... "DON'T DANCE!!!"

  13. Fergie will pee in her pants on stage if she has to.

Like the abovers I think adrenaline got him through. I'm sure he is in a world of pain now.

  14. BigMama, I'm with you -- great band (look up Build God, Then We'll Talk) great lyrics. Love them. (And I'm 53 dammit, lol)

  15. I hope he doesn't end up really effing up his ankle by prolonging the treatment, as bad ass as it may seem.

Someone I know waited to go see a doctor once b/c they were convinced it wasn't broken and the recovery time ended up being 2 x as long. :(

  16. MCH, they posted a picture on their website of him getting into an ambulance, so it looks like he is getting it checked out!

I agree with the others, I think they are a great band and they do a good show.

  17. I thought it was cute when he changed the words to their biggest hit at the time because it had a dirty word in it and he didn't want to offend his bandmates grandparents who were also at the show. He even appologized for it at the concert. Very funny
