Ashton Kutcher Kows He Is A Lucky F**ker
Ashton Kutcher was introduced at the CBS upfront thing yesterday and said he felt like he won the Lotto. Yep, pretty much. But, I also think that like many Lotto winners, his luck could run out quickly. Lets face it. The guy was probably the worst choice ever for Two And A Half Men. As I said last week, Hugh Grant would have been brilliant, and Ashton Kutcher just makes this a countdown to when the show ends. Ashton had no career anymore. Every now and then he talks some producer or studio into giving him a few million bucks so he can destroy their movie. He was ok on That 70's Show because he had a limited role in a large ensemble cast. Being a leading guy offers no protection against his many acting weaknesses.
I don't get it. I really don't.
ReplyDeleteHe may surprise us by responding to the negative criticism and going above and beyond the call of duty.
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to see how the audience numbers go.
ReplyDeletewho knows, I think it is going to depend largely on how it is done. I find him alot less annoying than some other actors (wilmer comes to mind)
ReplyDeleteI think this is Chuck Lorre's big F-you to Charlie Sheen. Otherwise, it makes no sense at all.
ReplyDeletebtw - someone stole your N from the headline! I would launch an investigation.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I wholeheartedly agree.
ReplyDeleteHugh Grant would have been classic.
David Spade could have saved it.
Barney/NPH could have saved it.
Hell, even my love Matthew Perry would have been a better choice.
^^ Is it true Perry's Mr. Sunshine has been canceled?
ReplyDeleteAnd is anyone else watching Happy Endings? Really digging that show and hope it makes it.
Mr. Sunshine IS canceled.
ReplyDeleteRQ - I love Happy Endings.
@RQ and Little Miss~I am loving Happy Endings, I am so glad other people are watching. it is really cute and funny.
ReplyDeleteKelso gets in a time machine and lives in Malibu,ya that's gonna work.
ReplyDeleteI don't care. He's a guy from a show I never watched moving to another show I never watched.
ReplyDeleteHow did this happen?? I know it sounds horrible, but I want him to fail so bad
ReplyDeleteAngus T. Jones is already playing the Kelso character in Two And A Half Men, which is the only character Kutcher has ever played. What can he possibly add?
ReplyDeletedon't care..I couldn't stand that show before anyways..I couldnt understand why the hell it was so popular in the first place. Seriously shocking.
ReplyDeleteHappy Endings got renewed.
ReplyDeleteAshton has a production deal with CBS so it was a good fit for both parties.
Hugh was just too lazy to work hard so no sympathy there.
I think Jon & Angus roles will be beefed up to minimize Ashton as he is funny in small bites.
i think they'll get huge ratings for the first episode he's on and then it's gonna crash and burn.
ReplyDeletepeople will think "yeah, it's exactly what i thought it would be. shitty."
lol
oh, and i too am enjoying Happy Endings.
ReplyDeletemy fav right now though is The Killing. good stuff.
I can't really stand this guy and find him extremely untalented. But at least he is appreciative. That's a lot more than we coudl ever say about Charlie.
ReplyDeleteeither it will bomb or get the best ratings ever.
ReplyDeleteIt will get magnificent ratings, but it may not stick. He has funny in him. He was good in Valentine's day. I think he's ok, but not magnificent. Matthew Perry could have worked it in a second!
ReplyDeleteYes, because Two and a Half Men has always been a show to spotlight exceptional theatrical talent, and Ashton might be the glaring, talentless exception who ends the show's stellar critical reputation.
ReplyDeleteOkay.
Two and A Half Men needed a "heartthrob". Matthew Perry doesn't fit that role. Plus, he just checked into rehab. For Lorre/CBS, it would be from the frying pan to the fire.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Ashton can act. Say what you will about Charlie, he can act. I am not certain how it will work but Sheen was getting long in the tooth to play a successful Lothario. Plus, his addiction has had an effect on his looks. In the truncated season, Sheen looked like death warmed over.
Another Happy Endings fan here. Casey Wilson is awesome, adorable and hot. Mr. Sunshine was very good too. Bummed it's not coming back.
ReplyDeleteYes, Happy Endings is coming back next year.
Nothing to do with this story but...I watched the first episode of The Killing and found it very slow, does it get better? I could give it another watch if so
ReplyDelete@kelly -- just the opposite for me. I loved The Killing for the first few episodes, and now I think it's totally dragging.
ReplyDeleteI love the Killing. My husband doesn't like it.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Azzton. I really can't stand this idiot. Everytime I see him I just see him as Kelso.
I am loving Happy Endings, too. Glad to see so much love here! I loved the episode where Penny is trying to convince Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) to date and she makes a reference to Elisha's character on 24.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Mr Sunshine and Im sad to see it, and Matthew Perry go.
ReplyDeleteI know it sounds strange but there are actually people who really like Ashton Kutcher and there are people who like/d Two and A Half men. I like/d the show and don't hate AK. I hope, as a big warning to other over inflated egos all over HW and a big FU to Charlie, that the show does better than ever and gets renewed for another 5 years.
I'm so glad to see some Happy Endings love. I saw comments at another site where people were going nuts about Brothers and Sisters being cancelled and Happy Endings being crap -- I wondered for a bit if I had entered The Twilight Zone.
ReplyDeleteI can't see Ashton Kutcher doing anything good for Two and a Half Men. Maybe he feels like he won the lottery in the sense that he's getting paid tons o'bucks to keep that show on life support long enough for the rest of the cast and crew to make some more money (or find their next career moves).
ak? chuck lorre just lit a fire under his own ass...the pressure to make this 2.0v work must be insane. i'll watch just to see if it'll have been worth the crazy.
ReplyDeletei think the issue with The Killing is that each episode is supposed to be a day in the case, so with that concept of "real time" comes a dragging quality...but i think it's supposed to be that way and I don't like instant gratification with shows i like.
ReplyDeletei like getting to know the characters- especially if it goes for another season. i hate it when shows start with a huge bang, all stimulating, and then get picked up for season 2 and start to suck because they used up all their juice in the first season.
just my opinion :)
I'm glad Ashton got the part! Never watched the show before but I will now.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I wouldn't watch if Hugh Grant got the part so I think it is a GREAT choice.
This is a FEMALE opinion. ;-)
I LOVE the killing too, but I hate AMC's completely crappy HD. It might be super snobby but it was shot in HD and so much of the story lies in the beautiful scenery, and then they go ahead and compress the s**** out of it like that? Unforgivable.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Enty but I just have to disagree with you on one point.
ReplyDeleteHe was perfectly cast as a f**cked up pothead idiot in 'Dude Where's My Car?' I could really shell out some matinee money to see the sequel to that!
@Ida - Exactly!!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a stupid choice but I also think it's a crap show so what do I care.
I like the choice. He's cute and stupid.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to 2.5m's ratings nose-dive. Chuck Lorre has a master of the universe complex. CS was no piece of cake, and he is a disaster in his personal life, but CL truly believes he THE untouchable overlord. Sorry, but even your midas touch can't turn Asston into ratings gold. Ass is a desperate, pompous, narcisistic neanderthal. Oh wait. So is Chuck Lorre. Birds of a feather; can't wait to see them take that plunge. Asshats.
ReplyDeleteI also love "The Killing" and think the acting is superb. Not a fan of Ashton, but it's inaccurate to say he ruins all movies. He didn't ruin that movie with Natalie Portman. It got decent reviews.
