Well, This Should Be Boring

For the past season or two of Jersey Shore, I have been pretty bored watching it. It is the same show every week almost to the point that you feel like they just use the same footage each week. Well, that could all change when the cast goes to Italy. They are going to be filming in Florence. I guess and Italian town finally broke down and granted MTV permission to film there. The mayor of Florence though has some very strict rules about the filming. Number one on the list is no filming in places that serve alcohol and no public drinking. Considering that at least half of each show is devoted to watching the cast get hammered every night at a bar, this will be interesting. I guess what will happen is we will see a shot of the cast going into a bar and then a shot of them coming out drunk. Wow, that is great television. It is like the yada, yada yada of reality.

So, I went into a bar, yada yada yada and came out with a black eye.

  1. Lol - might be good for them to go out and visit an ART GALLERY for a change ;) I would LOVE to go to Florence!

  2. Good for Florence. Nice to see a city with some boundaries and class.

  3. I've gotten over my obsession with reality TV. I barely watch any of it anymore. It's overly saturated and it's become to similar and to over the top.

I gave up Jersey Shore when Ronnie, who I hate, started throwing Sammi's, who I hate, clothes around and outside, dismantling her bed and tossing everything out of her room. Everyone acted like it wasn't a problem.

When MTV RW DC didn't automatically get rid of the guy who through the other guy over a balcony because he poured a beer on him. The asshole held the other guy upside down over a 6 foot drop over concrete, paused for a quick second, and dropped him on his head. It was a effing miracle that he was fine. He could have died. I don't want to watch people like this anymore. I'm too old and people are getting stupider and it's not helping society to no longer have any generations grow up without documenting every moment of their lives on TV & the internet.

    Off topic rant over.

  4. *cocks ear* I think I just heard a guido death knell! Hooray!

I just started watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix, and I now see why people have been crapping their pants over that show for the past few years. And I HATE football. Oh, and I've gotten into The Killing, too. The writing and acting on that show are excellent, and the Seattle locale makes me wanna sell all my stuff and head out West NOW.

My point: there are GREAT television shows out there. Life's too short, and I think I'm done with the shitty kind of T.V. for good.

  5. Friday Night Lights is a really great show. I think Tami & Eric have one of the best and most realistic marriages on TV.

  6. @Rose -- I want to be the third partner in that marriage. Those two are HAWT.

  7. @Ida - you'll be happy to know my bf and I have just started watching Mad Men from the beginning. I'm digging it, but he's finding it boring :( (we've watched the first 3 episodes) Please tell me it'll speed up for him!

  8. It's so funny you guys post that. I have been sick and laid up in bed and have gotten so overwhelmed by how nasty my DVR is. I feel like it belongs on the Christina Aguilera "dirrty" tour. I started watching some random shows not on my DVR and I swear I slept better last night than I have in ages (full disclaimer: the Nyquil probably helped).

  9. I started watching The Killing last night. It's fantastic!

  10. I can't wait to see what happens to these bozos when they come face to face with Italian Italians. Then again, I may be in for a severe disappointment, but I hope not. Remember the Sopranos or the RHONJ going back to the old country? This will go over as well, I think...

  11. Why does anyone keeps watching this? I get the appeal of season 1 but people are still interested in these dumb sack of rocks?

@Ida FNL was great and I also dislike american football but it was just good tv and all of the characters seemed genuine.

As far as drama tv goes I'm waiting for Breaking Bad and Mad men. Parks and Rec, Community and Modern Family are my must see series. I got bored with TBBT.

  12. In other news, Superman and the rest of the Justice League have invited Matteo Renzi to join....

  13. Rose - YES, I agree with everything you just said. Also watched the show until that episode, after that it made me sick to just see them. Not.OK.

  14. ^^ What Ida Blankenship and Rose said.

  15. @Rocket Queen -- your boyfriend is BORED by Mad Men? Has he SEEN Christina Hendricks yet? Or January Jones? Oh my GOD.

I was honestly enthralled with the show from the get-go, but it really picks up after the fifth or so episode. And my personal favorite season is the second one -- you haven't even seen the best episodes yet! I'm kinda jealous.

@Jess -- I FULLY endorse Breaking Bad. And Mad Men, too, obviously.

  18. Jersey Shore - NOTHING BUT SHOUTING!!!!!!!

"Hey gang, Whaada y'all wanna do tonight?"
"Drink, and fuck and SHOUT!!! WOO-HOO!!"

    "FUCK YEAH!!!!!!"

I mean they shout on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" to but at least there's a purpose for it.

  19. Good for Florence! I still say a better destination would be Myrtle Beach, SC for this group.

After we (finally) finish Six Feet Under, we have Friday Night Lights next up in our queue. Glad to hear it's getting lots of endorsements on here.

  20. Fuckin' "Jersey Shore" gets written about every week but nothing for "Parenthood."

Last night's finale had me crying the whole hour.

  21. Right then. If I haven't gotten him by episode 6, I might be on my own.
I'll suggest Friday Night Lights as an alternative. I think we'd both like that one.

Cannot stand these loosers. When is 15 minutes going to be up? Would not waste my time watching this scum. So many better things on.

@Ida, my husband only watches Mad Men for Christina Hendricks. I swear he stops breathing when she comes on the screen. January Jones is stunningly beautiful. A very hard to like character but beautiful, regardless.

  24. @JasonBlueEyes - Shhh! I haven't watched it yet! :)

Re: Mad Men - I am not happy about having to wait until March 2012 to watch the next season! :(

  25. @anita -- yeah, I DEFinitely live in a house with a man like yours. He literally stops moving/breathing/talking when Christina comes on screen (and he's a Gemini, so he NEVER shuts up, let me tell you). The other day, he said that he couldn't think of a female movie star more attractive than her, and I just smiled. We have the same Girl Crush! ~True Love~...

@MCH -- I KNOW! I can't even FATHOM it. A summer without Mad Men?! I'm gonna have to find a new T.V. obsession, but NOTHING will supplant it.

  27. These people need to go. Why send them to Italy? doesn't Europe have a bad enough impression of Americans?

Why not send these idiots to live like the Amish. No make-up, No TV, no technology, etc.. They'd last 5mins.

I really like the KILLING. It's a great little show with some excellant actors. If you can, watch it.

  28. Damn you all for bringing up Friday Night Lights and making me start crying all over again for the finale. That show was so freaking good.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Robert - what exactly does your comment mean "I can't wait to see what happens when these bozos come face to face with Italian Italinas"? Do you think Italians are gonna be all like, 'Aye, oh, you betta stop making such-ah bad-ah impression of us-ah, or we break-ah your face."

Italians are beautiful, intelligent, classy, great dressers and for the most part aren't really into fighting or gelled hair.

    They're not like The Fonz.
