Joseph Gordon-Levitt In Hesher

This is not how I am used to seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt but the movie looks really good.

  3. I saw a preview for this a couple weeks ago - can't wait to see it.
But PLEASE - ENTY if you read this - did they ever release a cause of death of JGL's brother? I remember when he died, his friends were running around the internet telling people to quit assuming it was a drug overdose - but I can't find where a cause has ever been released.

  5. I'm loving JGL these days. Such diversity.

  6. This is not a slam - but I don't think any female over the age of 40 is exactly the target demo for this film. Then again, ANYONE over 40 is likely not either. It is an adventure in non-linear storytelling with a skipping narrative, meant to induce uncomfortable laughter from mundane situations.

Did anyone here see or like Donnie Darko? This movie is very similar - just more slacker than psycho. Someone who is Jewish may get the Hesher title joke. Or you can get the Metallica music and logo joke.

I know this because I read the script for it last Fall. It's an amazing read. JGL is also an amazing talent. I hope this movie does well, but yah - it's a bit off the wall.

I have always felt that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is going to be the next Heath Ledger talent-wise. I hope he fares better personally than Heath did though.

  12. ITA with c17. WTF, Himmmm? If you're over 40 and female you're not cool anymore or have lost the capacity to appreciate movies that are "off the wall"? Eff you. Sincerely.
