Bristol Palin Made $262K For Being A Teen Mom
Apparently if you have a baby and are a teenager and then are willing to tell other teenagers that they should stay abstinent, you can make some big bucks. I think you can probably make more if you are an MTV Teen Mom and then do a bunch of club appearances, but Bristol Palin did alright for herself talking about something she probably does not follow. Do any of you really think she is not having sex? Candie's reportedly paid Bristol $262,000 to make about three speeches about teen abstinence. This is what I don't understand. I have never heard her speech but would you not presume it is all about doom and gloom and dire warnings about becoming a teen mother and how nothing good can come out of it? Is she saying all of this with a straight face? The only reason she has made any money is because she is a teen mom, so how can she tell other people their life will suck if they become a teen mom? Does she not want any competition for these dollars?
That whole family..well mama and daughter are money hungry hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteAnd Kevin Federline makes $35K a month as Brit's baby daddy. Wouldn't it be hilarious if.....Nahhh, too frightening to even think of.
ReplyDeleteNice gig, Bristol. Wonder how much she made off DWTS.
ReplyDeleteIf mama Palin was serious about public service, she wouldn't have quit her job as governor and cash in with book deals and reality television shows.
Can't believe anyone takes her seriously.
At least she makes more per speech than Snooki.
ReplyDeleteErm...
It’s actually even worse than Enty says. According to ThinkProgress:
ReplyDelete"The Associated Press reported that the Candie’s Foundation released its 2009 tax information, revealing that Bristol was paid a salary of $262,500. But a closer examination of the tax form by ThinkProgress shows that the group disbursed only $35,000 in grants to actual teen pregnancy health and counseling clinics ... Thus, the nonprofit paid Bristol over seven times what it paid to teen pregnancy prevention groups. In addition, the Candie’s Foundation spent $165,000 on advertising ... Bristol’s Candie’s Foundation group is run by Neil Cole, an executive at the teenage clothing company Iconix Brand Group. Many critics have pointed out that the Candie’s Foundation appears to be geared towards improving the public image of Cole’s company rather than reducing teen pregnancy."

ReplyDeleteI'm sick GENERALLY of people thinking these days that they don't need an education anymore because all they really need is 15 minutes of fame or a famous relative to be set for life. Would I not go back and do my degree? No, but I'm a little bitter about the pay disparity going on here.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, education and hard work will put women at the bottom of the barrel. We should all strive to be Goddesses! At least we're in good company right now.
ReplyDeletePlease, universe, before I die, please reveal who Trig's mother really is. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am 51 years old. Is it too late for me to become an unwed teenage mother?
ReplyDeleteGood god, looserdude, don't go there!
ReplyDeleteThis is repulsive on so many levels.
ReplyDelete*gasp* looserdude! takeitbacktakeitbacktakeitback!
ReplyDeleteWhat is even funnier is that Candies makes all their money selling teenage sex - have you seen their ads?
ReplyDeleteAwww! Republican hypocrisy is always SO darling.
ReplyDeleteConsidering most teen mothers actually could have used the money for diapers and food you would think she could have donated her time instead of taking money that could have actually helped who it was intended for.
