No Career? Lets Make Another American Pie
One of the things about a franchise is that they can get old after awhile. Sometimes you think you are such a huge star because the movies did so well that you can walk away and be a star in your own movies and not have to share the spotlight with 5 other people. So sayeth the cast of American Pie. Some did get lucky and were able to walk away like Mena Suvari, Jennifer Coolidge and Alyson Hannigan.. Tara Reid just kind of staggered away while clutching a bottle of tickle pink. Natasha Lyonne? Crawled away while looking for her entertainment lawyer. Eugene Levy? Never left. On his tombstone it will say SCTV an American Pie 1-23. Oh, and Club Paradise. Great movie but it would have been better with Bill Murray who was supposed to play the lead. Anyway, back to the movies.
Seann William Scott had a lot of success when he first left the series of movies but lately has been relegated to second leads or the funny guy who tries to steal scenes. Reason? Check the blind items.
Jason Biggs? Yeah, like you ever see him in anything. Chris Klein? Loves rehab.
Well, Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott have agreed to make another American Pie movie. Of course Eugene Levy too. Also, Universal is in discussions with every member of the original cast and hope to start shooting in May. I think they will get everyone but Tara Reid. I think they will take one look at her and realize it is a lost cause.
Eugene Levy: SCTV and American Pie 1-23 and the Christopher Guest movies (that he also co-writes)
ReplyDeleteWonder which BI's are Seann William Scott. He just entered rehab for "personal issues" so...
ReplyDeleteJason Biggs is on a network comedy series this season, with that chick from Scrubs.
ReplyDeleteJason Biggs is in Mad Love on CBS with Sarah Chalke and Judy Greer.
ReplyDeleteRight you are, Angela!
ReplyDeleteAnd let's not neglect Splash! as well.
Is the Sean blind the one about wearing the T-shirt from the movie? Was there a T-shirt?
ReplyDeleteI think this is related to the t-shirt blind. Actually, I guessed Jason Biggs for that one. Close, but this isn't horseshoes.
ReplyDeleteAnd on Jason Bigg's tombstone it will say "Pie Fucker."
ReplyDeleteIt seems the last time Sean W.S. was in a movie was "Jackass 3-D." and even then he was only in it for 30 seconds.
ReplyDeleteYou know it's bad when even the Jackass guys cut you completely from their movie.
Eugene Levy was also in Best in Show, one of my all time favourites
ReplyDeleteWow, i guess enty's medicine has him feeling generous, there was a lot of dirt in this one.
ReplyDeleteI loved Best in Show!
ReplyDeleteEugene Levy has been in most of Christopher Guests movies. Best in Show, Mighty Wind, Waiting for Guffman. He was also in Splash, Father of the Bride, Night at the Museum and many more. The guy is definitely not desperate for work and is a well established actor. He's always got something going on.
ReplyDeleteBTW...does anyone know which B.I. is Sean William Scott?
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing with Levy, why does he keep going back to all these crappy American pie movies? HE seems to be doing alright on his own
ReplyDeleteSWS may be the t-shirt blind, but he's also got to be the answer to some drug blind, if Enty's talking about his trip to rehab, right?
ReplyDeleteSeems like Natasha Lyonne is an answer to another blind as well.
ReplyDeleteSWS did a film with Paul Rudd called Role Models in which he was the second lead and funnier than shit. That movie is a total guilty pleasure of mine (I'm ashamed to say), but it was a perfect part for him. Hopefully he can rehab his "personal issues" and get back to making mindless inane funny entertainment. After earthquakes, tsunamis, nuclear meltdowns, and some personal problems I'm having, I love a little escapism entertainment.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Eugene Levy movies are Splash and Best in Show.
ReplyDeleteI love Splash!!!!
Damn....I loved the movie Role Models too. SWS was perfect in that movie. Now I have to watch it again. Could use the laughs these days......
ReplyDeleteEugene Levy as Dr Allen Pearl is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. "People say 'You must have been the class clown.' And I say, 'No I wasn't.' I sat next to him and I studied him." "Guffman" is in my top 5 all-time favorite movies.
ReplyDeleteTara Reid will work for free just so she can say she was in a movie within the last decade.
ReplyDeleteSo Natasha Lyonne is one of Enty's clients?
ReplyDelete"Natasha Lyonne? Crawled away while looking for her entertainment lawyer".
I actually really like the new show Jason Biggs is on. Mainly for Judy Greer and the guy playing opposite her, but the show is cute.
ReplyDelete@Little Miss Smoke and Mirrors -- I LOVED Role Models! My boyfriend and I saw it on a whim and practically cried we laughed so hard. I adore Paul Rudd, too. One of my faves.
ReplyDeleteThat said, isn't this, like, the SEVENTH American Pie movie? Uggggh.
And not only is Eugene Levy too good for this franchise, but so is Jennifer Coolidge. WTF?
I've never seen any of the American Pie movies. Confession is good for the soul! ;)
ReplyDelete@amoteafloat said, "And not only is Eugene Levy too good for this franchise, but so is Jennifer Coolidge."
ReplyDeleteAmen, sister!
Do you really thing Alyson Hannigan will come back? I think she's doing ok...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ROLE MODELS!
Alyson tweeted that she'd love to be in it, but they haven't asked her yet. I think this is supposed to be a serious sequel, not just a toss-off like the last few have been.
ReplyDeleteI loved Role Models too, but S.W.S. Can never top his performance in Old School!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else remember a blind from a long time ago about Enty getting phone calls in the middle of the night from a female celebrity? I don't remember all the details--the blind was from 2006 or 2007, I think--but I can't help but think that the reference to Natasha Lyonne might be about that blind...
ReplyDeleteI love Eugene Levy. Waiting for Guffman is my favorite movie; but I can't help but love Levy in Best of Show. He had two left feet!
GladysKravitz - I remember that ancient blind, and I was thinking maybe Natasha Lyonne was connected to that, too.
ReplyDeleteThe first American Pie was hilarious. The rest, not so much. If they do actually make another I hope it is at least entertaining.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love SWS and I thought he was hilarious in Role Models.
ReplyDeleteHope he's not a douche and that he's getting back on the road to recovery.
I was always kind of surprised Eugene kept doing the Pie movies, too.
ReplyDeleteI actually liked that movie, Losers with Jason Biggs & Menu Suvari.
I loved the first American Pie...but I don't know about ANOTHER one. What would the premise be???
I love SWS, too :) He was in a couple of movies with the Rock awhile back and just hilarious. Role Models was good, but not as good as The Rundown. Get better, buddy.
ReplyDeleteSWS has just gone into rehab hasn't he? The reality show that never ends.
ReplyDeleteBiggs is currently in a sitcom with Sarah Chalke and the always underrated Tyler Labine. Sadly it's a pale copy of How I Met Your Mother.
For the record, of all the people I've interviewed, Tyler Labine made me laugh the most.
