Enrique Says Adios To Britney

Britney Spears had a huge announcement about her tour and the opening act was going to be Enrique Iglesias. That lasted all of about two hours. No reason was given for the sudden departure, but I am guessing someone told Enrique he would be a full act and not the traditional opener and someone said, no, we just want you to do 30 minutes or some kind of nonsense. Either that or he did not want to be gone from Anna Kournikova that long. You would think that prior to any announcement being made that all of this would have been worked out. Someone will probably lose their job.

  1. Enty ... I think Brit should be the opening act for sexy Enrique

  2. Enrique is as dumb as a bag of rocks, but damn, he's easy on the eyes. Plus, he can really sing as opposed to Miss Auto-tune Britney.

  3. I gotta disagree with you there, RJ...have you heard that latest auto-tuned mess of his? I used to like him, no more.

I really don't care for Iglesia just as I don't care for his old man.

  7. Britney was in SF recently, and my friends said she was horrible. Whereas she used to be known for tight dancing along with her lip-synching, now she can't do either.

My guess is that Enrique's ego felt dissed at having to be an opening act for someone who seems inferior to him.

  8. Rocket Queen, I haven't heard Enrique's latest. Sorry to hear that he's gone the autotune route. Too bad. His voice is good.

  10. did anyone see the GMA performances? I exert myself more when I am chair dancing to the Jukebox at my local bar! It was as if she was A) Afraid of falling - deathly afraid or B) half numb from the waist down from pain meds.
As for Enrique- yum! x 10 and I don't blame him - I agree with the above comment that she should be opening for him.

  11. Sorry forgot this - Did i miss what happened on Saturday with the radio show? I couldn't find anything in the comments or blog post's but thought I may have overlooked something about why it wasn't on. Anyone know? Thanks

  12. My friend at work takes the train with an editor at ABC and he told her it took 16 hours of footage to cobble together 1 hour of content suitable for her ABC special. Her handlers didn't want any ass shots (it's huge) and she was a mess couldn't synch her lip synching and couldn't dance for shit.

    Hil-ar-ious

I can see Enrique not wanting to play second fiddle to Britney. It's pretty embarassing as a singer to have to be her supporting act and not co-headline at the least.

I am just glad he lost the mole. I always wanted to flick that annoying thing off his face.

  14. @Stacey - there was no show this week. Again.

There's a very interesting article at the Daily Beast about Britney - how she basically is a shell of her former self, and the general feeling is that she hasn't completely recovered from her breakdown. Really sad. Having read that article yesterday, what happened (this announcement) is not so surprising.

  15. In that stupid I Like It song, for about a month I thought the baby I like it part was Katy Perry...

  16. @Err - that's the song! That's the one I hate. Just awful.

  17. Or there could be something going on where Anna didn't want him on tour with a not-married Britney. Or it's P.R. meant to imply exactly that so Britney makes gossip headlines (isn't her tour called Femme Fatale or somesuch? This is a stunt)

  18. Anyone else think that Britney is MV? Enrique won't open for her. Justin doesn't want to do a song with her. I don't hate Britney. I feel sorry for her. The pressure would be huge if you had to fake it.

  19. Good for him! I have heard he is fantastic live, actually...by someone who was surprised. When I heard about this, I thought it was a shame for him.

I don't know any of his music, but I'd go see him solo, though. Can't stand Britney. There has to be talent remaining on SOME level (apart from the producers) to grab my interest.

    Also? HE FINE.

  20. Enrique's Asian-looking brother used to be out and about a lot in South Beach in the 90s when I lived there. I was surprised by how friendly he was, until I discovered that, well, he was famous for being friendly, in spite of his wife waiting at home.

I love Enrique so much -- he's proof that Miami turns out the best things in the world.

  21. I feel bad for Britney and just can't feel catty about her the way I do for Xtina. Britney has never had the rep for being nasty to fans or the little people. She's not very bright, makes poor decisions, her personal life is in shambles, she lost custody of her children to an utter loser, and she's a singer who cannot sing--Her songs are auto-tuned out the wazoo to the point of sounding like she's "singing" inside of a cat food can. Sad, sad, sad.

  24. ABC has been pimping out these Brittney appearances all week. Now that I'm a breastfeeding momma, I see a lot of previously missed daytime television. They actually made her look good in the GMA promos. I missed the performance. I love her new song. I also love the new Jennifer Lopez song, AND I love Enrique's new song. I think I need my head checked. I'm a classical piano teacher, but sometimes you need a good mindless song, right?

  25. I don't find him attractive. He's lower back looks like his front.
