Dancing With The Stars
I think we could all pretty much assume that Psycho Mike would be the first contestant kicked off the new season of the show. With the exception of drunk college kids calling into Loveline, does anyone really know who he is. Unless he came out and danced like Fred Astaire, you knew he was going to be gone. I feel sorry for Lacey Schwimmer because she is one of my favorites and now she will be gone for the rest of the season. I refused to watch last night because of Chris Brown appearing but thought Tom Bergeron was great when he said he would ask Chris Brown about everything if he was allowed to interview him. He wasn't. Also Cheryl Burke said if it were up to her, she would not have Chris on the show. Obviously it was not up to her. Kudos for those two for making the a-hole feel unwelcome. I also thought it was interesting that Chris Brown chose to sing Forever. I think he did that because he wanted people in the audience to associate him with that song because they probably like it. Therefore they would like him. Fail.
Good for Cheryl Burke & the others who shunned him. I didn't watch it - and let ABC know it, for all that was worth. I read the spoilers online about who left.
ReplyDeleteNot a huge fan of Lacey but I liked her a whole lot better than either of the Houghs. I'd like to see Maks win this season, if nothing more than for what he did for the cancer patient that was reported on TMZ. Yeah, he's got an ego, but apparently he's got a good heart in there, too.
I did not watch it either because I am also outraged they invited Brown to perform on the show. Give me a break...
ReplyDeleteI like Lacey and the judges were very critical of her when she first started on the show (maybe because she came from SYTYCD?). She's put up with a lot and I hate to see her leave so soon.
ReplyDeleteI only watched the last three minutes of the show to see who got axed.
Robin Roberts was ridiculous..how many questions did she need to ask? She kept asking him the same stupid question over and over again..is he even 20years old yet?
ReplyDeletehe paid his debt now let him move on...same thing happend to Jennifer Capriati they asked her the same questions over and over until she broke down and cried all she wanted was to move on from her past and try and start fresh.
girls cry when frustrated boys throw things no big deal let him move on for christ sake!
^^ "boys throw things, no big deal"?? Sorry, not all men behave that way, nor do they need to. Then again, Chris is hardly a man, is he?
ReplyDeletehis behaviour was not acceptable but the media needs to back off sometimes.
ReplyDeletechris has issues he needs help but so do a lot of celebrities..and we still support them.
How many chances did Robert Downey Jr get a zillion..
As I recall, RDJ's drug problem only involved and hurt HIMSELF. Chris Brown and Mel Gibson are in the same category - men who abuse women and throw violent, angry fits when they don't get their own way. Big difference.
ReplyDeletePeople may start to back off when Chris stops throwing violent tantrums like a CHILD. Until then, he continues to prove he has a scary temper.
Well, you don't see any photos of women that RDJ beat the crap out of on the internet, do you? RDJ's issues were self-inflicted - he admitted his addictions, paid his penance in prison and got clean. People do come to respect that. And those issues RDJ had are STILL brought up today even though his prison stint was over 10 years ago. You don't see him constantly whining about how people need to move forward, and throwing chairs through windows when the media asks him about it, just because "he's a boy." But that's the difference between self-entitled, smart-alec" "boy" and a "man" who has faced his demons, has made peace with his past, and moved forward.
ReplyDeleteSorry gr, your defense of Chris Brown falls flat. The media does not need to back off, and he has not paid his debt fully. He is still under court supervision, and he is still having a hard time accepting responsibility for his behavior. His 'apology' on BET after the GMA chair throwing incident was full of half truths and placing blame on other people. He will not get a pass until he TRULY mans up and takes account for what he has done and what he continues to do. He is lucky he has some powerful people behind him that he can even get gigs like SNL and DWTS, but he needs to drop the attitude that he is entitled to anything. Let me assure you that if any other random Black guy in So Cal had bruised up a woman the way Chris did, he would not have walked away so easily. If he wants this to 'go away' then he needs to find someone he trusts and sit down for a no holds barred, unrestricted interview and face the consequences. Without the fake tears he used for the MJ tribute.
ReplyDeleteMaybe his people should call Oprah.
Chris Brown was 19 years old...old enough to know better but still he was a kid..he has issues he needs help but i dont think Robin
ReplyDeleteRoberts asking someone the same stupid questions over and over is ok to do also..
she asked them question he answered it then she re worded and asked it again he tried to side step it then she asked again he side stepped again
get a clue move on to the next question do u not have anything else to ask how many questions about the same thing is enough?
DWTS is one of my favorite shows, I make no apologies. Bless TIVO, I just fast forwarded through CB and called it a night.
ReplyDeleteSorry to see Lacy go so soon but she does need to do something with that hair.
She asked him the question several times because he refused to answer it. I am glad she did that, too many journalists let people get away with that shit.
ReplyDeleteok then my question is this:
ReplyDeleteHow long after a celebrity makes a mistake should the media still be allowed to ask that celebrity about it? 1 year 2 years 3 years ?
at what point do we put the incident on the shelf and move on?
if Chris Brown can't handle being asked F-CKING QUESTIONS and has to become physically violent towards furniture then he IS FUCKED UP and deserves NOTHING. not our respect, our sympathy, our admiration and CERTAINLY NOT OUR TIME OR MONEY.
ReplyDeletePeople need to stop defending him,it makes them look dumb as hell.
oh and blaming Robin is classic "blame the victim" type shit. please.
1.) Chris Brown is a criminal who has not even finished his laughably small sentence.
ReplyDelete2.) I saw the interview. She asked the question and then Brown messed up and told the real version of the acronym name of his album not the hearts and flowers one. She called him on it and asked if that wasn't being defensive and antagonistic. He tried but knew HE had blown it. Not Roberts.
3.) He has not overcome his anger issues. His reaction makes that clear. He probably took it out on the window and the chair because there wasn't a woman he could hit. And yes, I mean that to be as offensive as it sounds because none of us know that isn't the case.
4. ) And for those of you who say to move on. What do you pay, how do you make amends when he does take out his anger on a smaller human being again? I'll cut Chris Brown a break when I can be sure he has learned to control his temper and people and animals have nothing to fear from him.
calm down jax it's just chris brown and rhianna you dont know either of them..why do we act as if we know celebrities?? Rhianna has moved on so should we...why rehash it...who really cares...he is just a screwed up young boy with talent..enjoy his music or dont enjoy it but dont have a hissy fit over his hissy fit
ReplyDeleteIf you're seriously wondering why people won't let Chris Brown move on, go and take a look at those pictures of Rihanna's bruised, swollen, bloody face. That is why. Because he is an abuser, a woman-beater, and therefore, a BAD PERSON. If he had come out with a sincere apology. If he would have stayed out of the limelight until his probation was over. If he had tried to become part of the debate about the abuse of women, by talking about his issues and why he resorted to violence and what he is doing to get better. If he had shown remorse. Then I could see why he should be given a second chance. Bue he hasn't done any of those things - he is a mean, nasty, disgusting abuser in most of our eyes and he'll stay that way until he mans up and takes responsibility for his horrible actions.
ReplyDeleteBut somehow I don't think that'll ever happen. It has been proven to him already that he doesn't have to do any of those things.
@gr - YOU'RE the one who brought it up, asking why we won't let it go. We've explained why. You obviously like the guy, good for you. But don't expect the rest of us to give this abusive man-child our money or respect.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see Chris Brown show any genuine remorse for what he did. The only apologies seems to be contrite and forced by his handlers.
ReplyDeleteAnd since I hold the purse strings for my teen, I will never ever allow anything purchases that benefits a woman beater.
Personally, I have zero time for someone who beats a woman or an animal. People like that deserve to be forgotten for a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteRDJ went to prison and changed his life. His prison term was no cake walk. He routinely got beat up while there. He also is the first to admit what he did.
ReplyDeleteChris Brown did road clean-up and complained about doing it. He seems neither contrite or remorseful. He seems like a spoiled arrogant child. When he acts like a grown-up and finally shows contrition for beating the hell out of someone then and only then will I CONSIDER giving him a second chance.
I really love Lacey and am sorry to see her go so early. Mike was seriously pigeon toed! I don't know what to think of Lacey's hair, just really an awful mess.
ReplyDeleteI did like that song "Forever" when it first came out. That's really the only song I know of his. But it definitely got tarnished after he beat the crap out of Rihanna! Even the couple in that famous wedding video put a link to a domestic abuse website after the Grammy's. Obviously, most people were/still are upset about it with good reason.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what constitutes "enough time" to have passed when something like this BUT I think the difference here between him and other celebrities is how it was handled in the aftermath and I do not believe that Chris Brown has conducted himself in the appropriate manner. I don't think I've ever seen anything where he seemed TRULY remorseful and I don't think we ever will (at least at this point).
he did NOT sing, he lip synched.s a fraud.
