Christina Still Boozing

You would think that if you just got taken to jail for being too drunk to take care of yourself that you might give up drinking for a few days. If you were going to keep drinking, then hopefully you would at least to do it in the safety and comfort of your own home so no more embarrassing incidents would happen for awhile. Of course, none of us are Christina Aguilera. Just three days after Christina went to jail, she and her boyfriend returned to the same place she got hammered before and proceeded to get hammered again. US Weekly is reporting the pair downed two bottles of wine with dinner and when the waiter asked if they wanted dessert, they ordered more wine instead.

Is this par for the course for all Diva's?!?! Must they all get hooked on booze, drugs or have some sort of mental breakdown???

  2. Wow. I'm a little ashamed. I do that about twice a week with my girlfriends...

  3. I should clarify that I do not have a child at home though....

  4. Compared to Lohan and Sheen, Xtina's vices honestly look pretty normal.

I honestly get the feeling that she'll be okay. She's a vain little snot, but I don't sense totally cray-cray vibes wafting from her. She's obviously close to rock bottom, though.

I wonder if she has older mentors in the biz, or if she's alienated everybody with her attitude? I'd love to see, say, Stevie Nicks or Annie Lennox smack her upside the head and order her to take her career seriously. Personally, I don't go for the melodramatic ballad-y pop stuff, but she really IS talented.

  5. This poor girl, not only was she raped by 2 family members when she was little and had intense therapy 3 days a week when she got older...and it seemed that she had gotten her life back on track when she got married and had a baby. Now it's like she's relapsing. She's a beautiful and talented girl. She's too old to take 10 steps backwards. I hope she doesn't pull a Britney/Linsday.

  6. @Crila -- WHAT?!?! God, that's horrific!! :-( I knew that she was estranged from her dad, but I had no idea her childhood contained so much trauma.

Ugh. I don't have children and am loathe to judge mothers because I know it must be incredibly draining, but...wouldn't a terrible childhood make a person want to give their OWN children the most stable upbringing possible?

  7. Look, she has no business doing this to her kid, Max.

  8. At some point you have to grow up, particularly when you have a child. I get that she had a horrible childhood, many of us did, but she needs to make a better life for her son. The cycle needs to be broken.

  9. She had no business HAVING a kid. You have kids when you're tired of all this type nonsense so the kid can have a life. This is just sad. Disney does need to open a rehab. Seriously, Disney on top of a childhood like that can't be good. And neither is that man of hers. He should know better and be taking care of her if he's a real man. Ugh! Furthermore, if she didn't get a lesson from Cher I don't think there is any hope. Didn't you see Cher looking all so chummy with her at every movie premier?!?!?! I think Cher was disgusted and probably did try to help.

  10. "I think Cher was disgusted and probably did try to help."

I can TOTALLY see this. Cher's been a consummate professional since the sixties, and hasn't been scandalized by rehab stints or addictions (not her own, anyway). Not to mention the fact that she's obviously a supportive and responsible parent.

  11. Wasn't there a blind recently about how drinking isn't the only thing going on? Hopefully she'll get it together sooner rather than later. She's going through a lot with basically a failing career and a divorce. I think she needs time and I ain't gonna judge.

  12. I have never heard about Xtina being raped. Her father beat her mother, and she has been very open about that, but crila, I think you are confusing her with someone else.

  13. @amoteafloat - "...wouldn't a terrible childhood make a person want to give their OWN children the most stable upbringing possible?"

Nope. Not always. I had a very, very, VERY close friend who had a less than stellar childhood and she did next to nothing to give her two living children the best possible life. But, I will commend her in the sense that she was smart enough to at least acknowledge how much of a fuck-up she was and sent them to live with their relatives. But...no, bad childhood sometimes doesn't equal "I'm going to do the opposite".
