Sarah Jessica Parker Is Wishy Washy About SATC 3

After the disaster that was Sex And The City 2, Sarah Jessica Parker is back on the wishy washy train. This is a person who prior to the bomb being released was like we are going to make them forever, now has other commitments and doesn't care that the rest of the cast would probably like to do another sequel. What Sarah Jessica Parker does know for sure is that if there is going to be a SATC 3, then it better not be a prequel. She is the only Carrie Bradshaw she wants to see on the screen. She told the LA Times that when she first heard the idea for a prequel she said, "I was like, Wha-a-a-a-t?. There are a lot of important and interesting stories that 21-year-olds can tell, but I don't think we can pretend to go back. It's creating two histories. It's like, 'Oh I didn't know that about Carrie Bradshaw.' "

I left out some of the digs she takes at Blake Lively without mentioning her name. I guess Blake will not want to run into SJP if they do decide to make a prequel.

  1. I actually think a prequel would be a great idea. And could definitely see Blake Lively filling SJP's shoes as Carrie Bradshaw.

  3. No need to make anymore SATC movies. The first one was okay but that second (from what I hear) was TERRIBLE.

I loved the show but really they need to move on now.

GET NEW IDEAS HOLLYWOOD! And if you need help call me because believe me I can give you a hell of a lot better than remakes and sequels.

  4. A prequel would certainly be more interesting than yet another sequel. But NEIGH, it's time to stop beating this dead HORSE.

  5. They would have to make it AMAZING to make up for SATC2. I don't see it happening.

  6. it's ok to let some franchises die. And this one needs to die.

  7. This photo reminds me of the first facelift era in the late 50s and early 60s, when there was a joke that went:

A bunch of old men are sitting on a Fifth Avenue balcony at a dinner party, their wives inside gossiping. Suddenly a young boy comes outside and says, "Hey, one of the ladies inside sent me outside to get her husband." What did she look like? the gentlemen inquire, and the boy puts his hands on his cheeks and pulls the skin as tight as possible. "She looked like this," he says. And all of the men go inside.

She looks like she's 70 years old, Ms Parker does. Ouch.

They should make the next one have Carrie going into politics to run for Mare of New York City.

  9. The second one was horrendous. Give it up.

  10. I think instead of a movie they should make a final mini series on HBO and just wrap up the series for real.

Y'all are SO mean! :) But you made me laugh.

I love SJP but I don't know why she is getting her panties in a twist about it. I don't see how a prequel is ridiculous considering how many flashback sequences the show had. And didn't Candace Bushnell write a series of books about the girls before they were all growns up?

Was she really taking digs at Blake in that quote? Or 21 year olds in general. I was impressed with her use of inertia.

  15. This is dead and can stick a fork in it. She needs to move on. The first movie was a stretch to begin with.
