Party On Garth
It was nostalgia week on SNL this weekend. Dana Carvey hosting the show was great. Whether it was Church Lady referring to the Kardashians as the Holy Trinity Of Sluts or all the guests from Dana's era, this was a SNL I really enjoyed. The cold open featuring Wayne & Garth showed what a great night it was going to be.
Yes, really funny episode, both for nostalgia's sake and the current sketches- celebrity teen crisis line, James Franco "I love jobs!", The Roommate parody. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteto me it just looks like SNL is getting desperate-they have to bring back the good-shiz b/c the current (save Samberg) stuff blows.
ReplyDeleteIt was the best SNL in a long time. Even better than Jim Carrey, in my opinion. The Wayne's World open was so spot on, too. It's nice to see someone showing these new guys how to create a character that's not just obnoxious, but actually funny (I'm looking at you, Kristen Wiig).
ReplyDeleteI still watch SNL every weekend. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI honestly have to say I almost didn't watch it. Dana Carvey hasn't been relevant in years nor was he even remotely a favorite cast member of mine. But I am glad I did. I actually thought it was one of the better shows of the season and nice to see Mike Meyers for a few a cameos.
ReplyDeleteBut I could of done without the Justin Bieber cameos. Can't wait till his horrible concert movie comes and goes.
I completely missed this. I am so out of the loop lately...*L*
ReplyDeleteI never watch it, but this was cute. Amazing how little those two changed, looks-wise.
ReplyDeleteI got pubes. Lol!
SNL must be getting desperate to have invited Chris "gf beater" Brown to host. :(:(:(
ReplyDelete^Boo hiss on that!
ReplyDeleteI have this saved on my DVR. I loved Dana Carvey, so I'm glad to hear mostly positive things about it!
I loved the Holy Trinity of Sluts comment from the Church Lady.
ReplyDeleteShows like this just make you realize how bad SNL has gotten. I liked the show, but it just highlights how bad this season is in comparison.
ReplyDeleteMooshki, he's the singer. Russell Brand is hosting.
ReplyDeleteKellyLynn, love your comment about Wiig.
delilah, I'd put Bill Hader with Andy Samberg. Especially when he does the Vincent Price show and the Italian interviewer. I wish they would really let him shine more because I think he really gets what the show was and how it's supposed to be.
