Ke$ha Spends Thousands Of Dollars On Glitter Every Month

I knew going in that reading the Ke$ha interview in Vanity Fair would probably be painful and that I might not survive. I did it though because I knew that I owed it to all of you to suffer so you would not have to. It turns out though she is not a bad interview. Awful lyrics but not a bad interview. She is not afraid to drop f bombs and other choice words which always makes for a much better read than if she was just spewing platitudes everywhere. She is honest about the fact she wanted to be nominated for a Grammy. She loves Labyrinth and is a huge Bowie and Muppets fan. All good things in the scheme of liking a person.

At one point the interviewer asks how much Ke$ha spends on glitter each month and she said that her bill runs to several thousand dollars each month. Can you imagine having so much money where you can blow rent money on glitter? She says though that glitter is important to her and she wants to choke the world on glitter and then take over the world. Hey, at least she has ambitions.

  1. I am so sick of Vanity Fair and their profiles of teeny boppers like Justin Bieber, Lohan, and Ke$sha. I subscribed to Vanity Fair and canceled my other subscriptions to get AWAY from this pop crap and now VF is going the way of other cookie cutter women's mags. Yuck.

  2. They want a piece of that youth pie, SFG.

Damn, I would hate to be Ke¢ha's housekeeper.

  4. I hope the housekeeper has a Dyson Vacuum cleaner. That is the only thing that is going to get all that glitter shit up.

  5. Pffft - that woman better cut back on her glitter habit and put some of that money in bank. Somehow I don't see her being a household name for the long haul...

  6. I'm sure she finds a way to write it off as a business expense.

  7. Um, by glitter she means blow.

  8. I miss the days when one-hit-wonders knew their place and disappeared after their 15 minutes were up.

  9. Shitting Glitter! This immediately made me think of this WeHo fixture: http://www.shittingglitter.com/Home.html

  10. I don't know whether its good or bad that she's not blowing her money on cosmetic surgery enhancements. Maybe she's preserving that face for the Vinnie Barbarino role in the "Welcome Back Kotter" biopic.

  11. How is that even possible? How? Is this glitter made from actual gold and silver? I don't care if she has glitter over 100% of her body 100% of the time, how could it cost that much?

Now someone's going to post a link to a $500 bottle of glitter.

  13. Meir, she's already spent money on surgeries. I think I've seen some before and afters and the implication is that she's definitely had work done to make her more appealing to the masses.

  14. Okay - you guys are hilarious with the comments today :) Thanks for the laughs, everyone!

  15. The fact that this no-talent assclown can afford thousands of dollars worth of glitter makes me want to curl in a ball and weep.

  16. I thought Ke$ha would go away rapidly after her first hit, but the hits just keep on coming, one after another. "Blow," for instance -- she's got the overproduced compressed sawtooth-wave club music thing down really well. Knowing the best producers in the biz has helped her tremendously.

  17. And I wish she'd choke on all her stupid glitter. Her personality and appearance are nauseating and I can't stand the way she half-sings half-talks over recycled Britney Spears beats from five years ago. Ho, sit down.

  18. i understand the glitter thing. i, too, have a sick fascination with it...but as a 31 year old, i only get out the glitter for special occasions.

  19. LOL @ Awesome Balla.

That was a fairly entertaining interview, actually.

I don't get the glitter thing. I think a whole rolly tube of glitter I had in college from Victoria's Secret lasted a year. But the way Ke$ha talks about it, it's like she has the stuff shooting out her vag so, who knows.

  20. Barton, I think you had a typo. Shouldn't that have read "Blowing" instead of "Knowing?"

Kesha "sings" about glitter in more than one song. In one she sings about glitter on the floor. If glitter means blow, what a waste!

All in all, I think she's a horrible singer but her songwriting isn't half bad. With a good producer, her songs would make great hits by Rihanna, et. al.

Stick to writing and producing, Kesha, and leave the singing to the pros. Thank you and have a nice day.

  22. when I was in college I had a boyfriend whose dad invented makeup products. He gave me a jar of this awesome glitter that kinda looked like gel. It smelled great though, and was just the right amount of glitter. I loved it and would wear it when I would go out dancing, but when it was gone it was gone...maybe I should buy some more glitter gel :D @Chrissy Buns, if you aren't too old for it, then I'm not either! I think I will next time I go out !!

  23. That made me think about my fun, goofy grandmother. You're never too old for glitter! :)

  24. I used to be covered in glitter in the late 90's! Everyone knew when my bf at the time and I had seen each other that day because his beard would always be full of my glitter!!

I haven't rocked the glitter in ages..It should be around here somewhere still! MAC pigment bottles last forever

  25. She will outgrow that, because glitter is not kind as you age. It gets stuck in your crow's feet and wrinkles.

  26. Actually, that interview was pretty funny. I think she's probably a little smarter than people (including me) give her credit for :)

    Also, glitter is AWESOME.

I guess she started with the glitter "after."
