Fantasia Boycotted Grammy Awards Because Her Ego Was Bruised

When Fantasia finally won a Grammy after being nominated 11 times, you would think she would be bounding up to the stage while her boyfriend/affair guy looked on smiling and counting dollar signs in his head. But no. Fantasia stayed at home and explained why to BET.

"I'm going to be very honest with you. You know I wasn't at the Grammys last night. I'm kind of going through my own little thing. ... Last night they were honoring someone who is my idol, Aretha Franklin, and there is no way I could have sat there and not got the happy feet and wanting to jump on the mic because she is my favorite so I felt like, you know, at the end of the day I should have been on that stage so, I kind of did my own little thing last night."

There are a million singers who would have loved to be in that position. Think about how many incredible singers were not involved in that tribute and Fantasia gets upset enough about it that she stays at home? Move on. Go to the Awards, pick up your Grammy and thank Aretha in your winner speech. That would have been the great thing to do. Now everyone will treat her like a whiner and will make sure not to invite her.

  1. See, this is what I posted on another site-It is called the Grammy's NOT the Fanny's. STFU, sit DOWN and go keep your legs closed to married men.
This one. Girl, if you are looking for sympathy because you did not get picked to sing, you need better people.

  2. I can't stand her, her music and her horrible reality show. Her Grammy win was also not shown on TV so she was probably all huffy about that to. For a four hour show only 4 or 5 awards are actually shown on TV.

@Moosefan- I guess you don't Alicia Keys either?

  4. So she's upset because she wasn't invited on stage with Aretha? So what? Get your damn award and sit down.

That's the Reality alarm clock telling you that your 15 minutes are up.

Staying home from the Grammys and then calling a press conference about your absence does not constitute a snooze button.

Please pick up your parting gifts on the way out. Now sashay away.

  10. I used to like her on AI but honestly, she is another example of a person who can't handle fame.

  11. She won't be getting another Grammy after announcing it.

Let's have her 15 minutes of fame over now please. Seriously, a single mom who is dating married men and tries to kill herself? We are supposed to bow at her feet? Grammy Awards did not want her drama.

  13. Fantasia needs to get over herself. How pathetic that she would give up receiving such an honorable award, because she is a spoiled brat who didn't get her way. Fantasia keep this up and the only performances you will be doing is singing backup at a piano bar in a dive hotel in Westbuttfuck, Idaho.

  14. She's pissed that Jennifer Hudson was invited to sing and she wasn't even though she won that season. Hudson should have won that season and did win an Oscar. Hudson as a singer>All others on the stage>many other singers>>>>>>>>>>Fantasia.

  15. What Patty said. Hudson is CRAZY good.

  16. The Jennifer Hudson on stage must have been an extra sting to her. Jaimee Foxx was pushing for Fantsia for the role Jennifer ended up winning and the Oscar.

    Ouch.

  17. I don't know who all was doing the Aretha tribute, but I would say not showing up to the Grammy's because you're pouting over not be invited to do so is not a very good career move.

I didn't even know she was still singing lol. She should have appreciated she even got an award and shown up. It would have been good publicity for her. Now maybe she will disappear.

  20. Oh, and I like Jennifer Hudson, but every time I see her Weight Watchers commercial, I want to punch her in the face for that shit version of "Feeling Good." And to rant about another pet peeve of mine, that is NOT a *#($@&$(#)@ing Michale Bublé song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. I thought it was all about Aretha? I guess Fantasia didn't get the memo.

Maybe the next time Fanny is near death, Sister Sledge can sing for Fantasia's tribute.

  22. Really Mooshki? I'm tired of the commercial, but I think her voice is AMAZING in that commercial and doing that song!

  23. Fantasia was nominated for a Grammy 11 times? I have not heard one single song of hers.

  24. Mooshki GURL PLEASE with side eye is Fantasias aunt when she was lying about seeing a married man. They're "just friends" Uh huh! Girl PLEASE I am not buying what you are selling! 5 points PLONK!

  25. She is just so ugly, her face cracks my PC screen. Did she ever learn how to read?

  26. I am a Fantasia fan, but she needs to do the math: how many concerts has she sold out world-wide, how many Oscars has she won, been in how many box-office hit movies, records sold, hearts comforted (I'm thinking especially of Yolanda Adams here)?

  27. RQ, she has the voice, but she doesn't have the soul. Not for that song at least.

dunduhdunddun, when they showed that clip on 'The Soup,' I was dying!

  28. Fanny should have been there.

  29. First of all Fantasia is not ugly. She's a beautiful young woman with a fantastic voice. One of the rare talents in the watered down R&B genre!!

I agree with everything Bitter Queen said. Tasia should have been on that stage!!!

And as far as her 15 minutes, Fantasia has proved she is more then just some "reality show winner"

and btw Tasia and Jhud are great friends so jealousy wasnt a factor.

and dont get me started on that half ass Teddy Pendegrass "tribute" by Lady Antebellum.....foolishness!!!
