Charlie Sheen Is Out Of Control
Charlie Sheen was on Good Morning America and The Today Show this morning as he continues to do everything he can to burn every bridge with CBS possible. Oh, and to repair that bridge he is not apologizing for being an ass or for being out of control all season or insulting the creator of the show or taking responsibility for his actions. Nope, instead Charlie wants a raise from $2M an episode to $3M and episode. By my math, carry the one that would about $78M a season if there were 26 episodes. Wow, that is a lot of money for cokes and hookers. Depending on which network you watched this morning you got different craziness from Charlie. I prefer the NBC version where he talks about the different blends of drugs he will not take because he does not want to end up dead. Hey, Charlie, an overdose is not the only way you can go out you know? As many drugs as this guy takes, his body could shut down any second. He did pass a home drug test Radar gave him over the weekend. I wonder if he would pass one now. Plus those things miss a lot.
Jeebus. Does he wear tights and fight crime at night or something?
ReplyDeleteThese are the words of a man surfing the crest of a manic high -- and he's going to crash biiiiigtime pretty soon.
And, again, I only feel bad for his kids.
On GMA this morning, they gave the results of a drug test also that showed him as not having anything in his system. However, they also said he came back from vacation early because he was so eager to take it. I suspect the real reason was he wanted to control the timing of the drug tst because he either was a) sober for a few days or b) had taken something to cover the drugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat amazed me most about the GMA interview was that he kept saying that he is different, that he has a different life and should be judged by different standards (paraphrased). This guy is so out of touch with reality that he doesn't think his shit stinks. His world is going to hit a huge brick wall any minute now. I feel bad for his family, which has probably tried everything they can think of to stop him but failed.
It is not difficult to beat a drug test. Anyone who has ever done drugs over a significant period of time knows this. In shops down in Vancouver's east side, there are liquids in bottles you can take to flush shit out of your system in half the time it usually takes.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, he might really have been clean...the point is, he's pretty far gone mentally and emotionally right now...one of the effects of sustained and prolonged drug use. What a train wreck.
Lorre only canceled the show for the remainder of the season, wondering what he thinks now....kill it permanently?
His looks have deteriorated quickly.
ReplyDeleteOn GMA this morning the interviewer said that the "family" by his side the entire time of the interview were two women who live with him and these women seem to be in control.
Martin Sheen needs to pull a Jamie Spears on Charlie's ass.
he may be clean and what we're seeing is full blown mania and psychosis. It could be that he's always been mentally ill or the years of alcohol and drugs made him this way. In any case hes not well and he's headed for a major crash. I hope he gets help. Also I hope they replace him on the show. I'd watch just to support all the people who have suffered due to his antics. It's a good show and the other actors, writers and crew should not be punished because Charlie is off his rocker.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like shit. And he's delusional. No way is he going to get a raise now. Has his acting improved? No. So no raise.
ReplyDeleteAbout the his rant about Chuck/Haim - I took him saying Chuck's real name was Haim whatever to mean that Chuck was fake because he changed his name. I never read any anti-semitism in that remark. I figured he was just grasping at straws because he couldn't find anything really bad to say about him. Unless he held back (which I doubt he would).
While I must admit that his insanity and bravado is certainly entertaining, it is also pathetic to watch someone come completely undone in the public eye. We've all seen Lindsay and Brittany melt down, but this brings us to a whole new level of melt down.
ReplyDeleteHe is just so entertaining - the fact that he actually seems to believe that he is special and different from all of us, and that we are all too stupid to comprehend his abilities - it's so bloody funny. How could the drug tests come back clean? Is his mind that far gone? Can he get better? So many questions, so little time...
Like earlier commentators, its easy to beat a drug test. You can be clean for 4 days and the coke leaves ur system. He prolly drank himself into oblivioin those 4 days and that wouldnt register on a drug test. Clearly his mind has been damaged from the drugs and if the recent blind items are true, Charlie suffers from a mental instability which is exacerbated by drugs. Please this is the guy who shot Kelly Preston in the 90s. He has gotten away with so much (like Lindsay) he cant fathom that he has done something wrong. That being said, I didnt read anything anti-Semitic by calling out his producer by his Hebrew name. I agree Shakey, it was Charlie's way of calling Chuck Lorre a fake.

ReplyDeleteCharlie who? Oh, yeah. That guy. Whatever happened to him?
ReplyDeleteIf, as the blinds are hinting, Charlie's main problem is that he's bipolar, then he doesn't have to take drugs to be crazed and manic. He would take them to self-medicate, to control the highs and the lows. So, he just abstains for several days to publicly pass a drug test. So what? He's still nuts, because he's mentally ill.
ReplyDeleteI hope his family can somehow get a 5150 and conservatorship for him. Right now he's mainly a danger to himself, but he could end up taking other people down with him.
I believe he's not on drugs right now. He is totally manic, I've seen that with a friend of mine. They just get out of control, think they're so great and can do no wrong and that everyone else is insane. His family better help him fast before he ruins his entire life.
ReplyDeletethe sweaty forehead and crazy eyes give him away.
ReplyDeleteSome of the stuff he's said is kind of funny. In a unstable, mental, kind of way. I can't wait for more!
ReplyDeleteI just have three things to add.
ReplyDelete1) has anyone noticed that he's wearing the same blue shirt in his interviews with ABC, NBC and Radar?
2) we also haven't heard a peep from his PR guy; I mean, how does he even begin to rationalize some of the things that have come out of his mouth these last few days.
3) Lindsay must be breathing a sigh of relief that Charlie's antics have taken the spotlight off her, albeit briefly.
There's a new interview on TMZ right now that he just did. BTW it's another sign of mania when you don't sleep, he's been up all sorts of hours and now doesn't want the camera to do any closeups
ReplyDeletethis is getting very bad very fast
@Surfer
ReplyDeletePerhaps PR man quit(I would). It's hard to spin crazy.

ReplyDelete@Sue Ellen - I thought about that. He may finally have thrown in the towel.
ReplyDeleteThe PR guy DID quit. Just now. after the TMZ interview. TMZ has the story. Been with Charlie a long time and now it' over.

ReplyDeleteYES!! Called it!
ReplyDelete*fist pump*
I have a friend married to a manic-depressive man who reminds me very much of Charlie, so much so that it is sort of freaking me out. He goes days on end without sleeping, too, and becomes so out of control my friend has to leave her home, sometimes for days at a time. He self-medicates with coke and alcohol, too. He also thinks it is everyone else who has a problem, not him. My friend should have gotten a divorce years ago, instead she is taking fertility drugs to try to have this lunatic's baby. And just like Charlie's women, I have little sympathy left for my friend.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see either of the interviews this morning, but for the last few hours Charlie has been live from his backyard on TMZ's home page. I saw some of it; sordid to say the least. Not likely he'll ever get to have any unsupervised visits with his daughters again.
ReplyDeleteYay, Sue Ellen!
ReplyDeleteNote to Martin, you better do something fast or you will be losing a son. Charlie is at a nexus for Armageddon.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me so much of my brother. He was diagnosed bipolar and took god knows how many drugs to feed it over the years.
ReplyDeleteI also hope his family can get a 5150. He's an ass, but all the signs point to bipolar.
@sunnyside - I'll be amazed if he lasts 48 hours without winding up in jail, a hospital, or dead :-/
ReplyDeleteForgot to say, my brother was diagnosed bipolar about 10+ years after he started abusing drugs.
ReplyDeleteI still say he is a sociopath and this is all part of the mental game he is playing. Only now he can no longer control the rage and all shit is let loose vs. him being able to semi-hide it for years.
ReplyDeleteMania is a hallmark symptom of bipolar disorder. To be more precise, mania is a cluster of symptoms that are associated with one aspect of bipolar disorder. An episode of mania can quickly spiral out of control, causing a great deal of disruption and mayhem for the individual and his or her loved ones. As such, it is important to be familiar with the warning signs of mania.
ReplyDelete.

I don't care what's wrong with him. The quotes are too good.
ReplyDeletewinning
ReplyDeleteworld's slowest suicide ever.
ReplyDeleteanyone who has him on their show is exploiting his mental illness and addiction issues.
gross.
Here comes Napoleon!
ReplyDeleteBIPOLAR, I went through this with a friend. At first it was annoying because they were always showing up at places randomly and nonstop talking. Then it got scary, weird all-nighters in the backyard talking about communicating with famous people about making a movie will all of us in it, even talk about communication with Obama. I get the heebie-jeebies with this whole story because clearly this guy is in a manic state.
ReplyDeleteCharlie, what's a beautiful guy like you doing racing in a place like this?
ReplyDeleteWinning???
I'd like to see clips of Charlie's interview mixed with L7's song Shirley.
Am I the only one that thinks it's funny that he doesn't apologize for his personal behavior...
ReplyDelete@Hannah, there is nothing wrong with his personal behavior. It's everyone else who has a problem ... his castmates, the crew, his bosses, his family ...
ReplyDeleteHe is bipolar, ok. But does he really have psychosis? I know what that looks like, this is definitely bipolar.
ReplyDeleteLook what THEY put him through.
ReplyDeleteAmazing.
Charlie, you really aren't all that special.
Anyone who has been around coke addicts knows these are the rants of someone on cocaine.
ReplyDeleteI will give Charlie a pass. He is an addict. It's the drugs talking, not him. The best thing for him is the shut down of production of Two and a Half Men. The money doesn't matter, but refusing to sweep the bad behaviour under the carpet, because he helps a lot of people make money, does.
I hope Charlie can deal with his demons but, having grown up in a family full of addictions, I doubt he will. He hasn't hit bottom yet, and he never may.
His father and sister have bipolar disorder. Bipolar sounds likely, with him being in a full manic phase.
ReplyDeleteTrying to drop a net on a man who earns as much as Charlie does is no easy task. He has plenty of yes-people around him.
TMZ - Warner Bros. will open its corporate wallet and pay the crew of "Two and a Half Men" for the 4 weeks they would have worked for the remainder of the season.
ReplyDeleteThis stopped being funny a couple of days ago and moved to disturbing and painful. I know that people with mental illness can be very difficult to corral but where are his people? What is holding up the 5150?
ReplyDeleteThis feels like standing beside the tracks waiting for the wreck to happen. Its going to catastrophic and no ones doing a thing but selling tickets!
It is difficult to get a conservatorship, but his interviews over the past few days should put the icing on the cake. You know his father has been collecting every bit of usable legal evidence he can find.
ReplyDeleteThey may now be waiting for him to hit the drugs and booze again so they can go in with a special ambulance.
Here's hoping the same doctors who let Lindsay loose so fast from the hospital are not the ones to "help" Charlie.
Why does he sound so nasally? Its distracting
ReplyDeleteIs it the massive amounts of coke?
Bleck
I'm being weaned off a prescription drug right now, and it is beyond fucking up my brain. I think it's bs to blame this on mental illness, this is withdrawal.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as for his drug use you can really tell how much he has been doing from his face. Especially when they did montages of his mugshots from only October- he already looks SO different!
ReplyDeleteHe was so cute in Ferris Bueller. Hard to believe it is the same person. I don't see a long life ahead for him. Sad.
ReplyDeleteThis just depresses me and makes me sad. Anyone can clearly see this man is not well, whatever the reason, the interviews should stop and shun this man from even attempting them until after he has gotten help. Yeah, yeah, I know, this would require some compassion for another human being instead of compassion for ratings and money. I hate this.
ReplyDelete"I’m tired of pretending I’m not a total bitchin’ rock star from Mars."
ReplyDeleteI'm torn because that is an awesome quote. But I feel icky because this is a seriously ill man. Martin Sheen- where's the 5150 already?!!!
I am super creeped out by the media attention on this meltdown. I haven't watched any of it myself but from what I read, everyone just seems to be scrambling for a closeup. It's pretty disturbing. He's going to end up blowing his brains out playing russian roulette on live morning TV or something. Can't we stop?
ReplyDeleteAbout 10 years ago, I had a friend go through the same thing. Spent $40K on drugs and working girls one month and wound up being taken out the service elevator of a fancy hotel in NYC. He also only took the advice of his working girls during that time. Eerily similar. Like my friend, Sheen is clearly bipolar and is having a meltdown. I think it's pretty sad, really.
ReplyDeleteI adore Craig Ferguson -- Never more than i did last night when he announced that he would not be talking about Charlie. He compared it people who paid money to look into peepholes at mentally ill people in the hospital, Bedlam, centuries ago. Craig is pretty upfront about his past addictions and routinely makes fun of himself/puts himself down for his past behaviour.
ReplyDeleteHe also pointed out that it has to be really bad when a person who's paid to make fun of others refrains from doing so. And he said, as if it could register with Sheen, that it should warn Sheen that he's in a very bad place when people "won't go there" to talk about him
Sorry -- ...compared it "to" people....
ReplyDeleteelspeth, thanks for pointing that out about Craig Ferguson! I don't watch his show, but I'm definitely a MUCH bigger fan of him, now!!
ReplyDeleteMy experience with Charlie Sheen is: one movie that was a parody of Top Gun, plus hundreds of stories about his drug problems and the fact that his primary sexual outlet is paid sex workers. I've never seen him in any shows or movies except that one parody, so I yet again find myself asking: Why do my fellow Americans love Charlie Sheen so intensely?
