BuzzFoto Blind Item

We heard that an Oscar winning film from LAST year has a leading actor that didn’t get the part too honestly. The actor, (who wasn’t nominated himself) allegedly got the part by sleeping with the director. Apparently that old couch-casting stuff still goes on! More surprising, the actor claims to be straight….

  1. Ed Asner for "Up"

*I'm reading this as a male actor sleeping with a male director but still claiming to be straight, right? So The Hurt Locker is out.

  2. ^ Yeah, my first thought was Jeremy Renner, but that doesn't work because of the director.

  3. I don't think James Cameron would swing that way, he doesn't strike me as that type; otherwise, maybe it would be Sam Worthington and James Cameron for Avatar?

    2010 Best Movie nominees were:

"Avatar," "The Blind Side," "District 9," "An Education," "The Hurt Locker," "Inglorious Basterds," "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," "A Serious Man," "Up" and "Up in the Air."

  6. sunnyside1213 - The director for The Hurt Locker was a woman, so the whole comment about the actor being straight wouldn't apply to this movie.

  7. What does he mean by Oscar winning film?

  8. I didn't read properly last guess. How about Lee Daniels and Lenny Kravitz for Precious to be different from the Avatar guesses.

  9. JJ Abrams and Zachary Quinto
(Star Trek won for make up)

It says Oscar WINNING film so that only leaves:
    The Hurt Locker (female director)
Avatar (cinematograpy but Cameronis known for hooking up with his female starts)
    Up (animated)
    The Young Victoria (costumes)
The Secrets in Their Eyes (foreign)
    Star Trek (make up)
    Precious (screenplay)

  10. Borg Queen - Milk was from 2009 Oscars. Enty says this was from last year (2010).

  11. all it says is Oscar winning film. So it could be any film that won an Oscar for any category, correct?

  12. That is the thing: Renner, is supposed to be gay, slept with the director, Biggolow, who is female.

  13. It can't be Renner. He was nominated.

  14. I guess Zachary Quinto is a possibility, but who else could have played Spock? He was perfect! I can't imagine he would have to go to any great lengths to get the part.

  15. In what world does Zachary Quinto claim to be straight? If anyone suggests Chris Pine and JJ, I will cry.

  16. Last year must mean 2009, as 2010 Oscars have not been chosen yet!

  17. Chris Pine and JJ just to make sunnyside cry. :)

  18. @G, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I am now officially sobbing.

  19. I actually don't know anything about JJ Abrams personal life. Is he gay? The blind suggests that the director is gay (or at least doesn't also "claim to be straight").

I wouldn't call Lenny Kravitz in Precious a leading role so I am totally stumped.

  20. @Missjenny - Damn. My new guess is now James Franco and Danny Boyle - 127 hours.

  21. JJ is married and his wife was the one who suggested Chris Pine for Kirk.

  22. Well then unless his wife is also his beard who serves as a pimp, I got nuthin.

  28. what about Tim McGraw in the Blind Side. I always thought it a bit odd that he got such a big role, seeing as he's not nearly the level of Sandy.... Plus he's married, supposedly not gay. And he didn't win, but The Blind Side did.

  29. What about Brad Pitt for Inglorious Basterds?

Or Rupert Friend in The Young Victoria?

    ReplyDelete
  30. The only other possible guess is Rupert Friend in Young Victoria with the director Jean Marc Vallee. I know next to nothing about the director besides the fact he is French Canadian, but Rupert dated Keira Knightly for 5 years, so would claim to be straight.

But the Lee Daniels/ Lenny Kravitz guess seems a bit better, if his role could be considered a "leading" one.
