Beckhams Yes, Sarah Ferguson No

This one has to sting a little. I'm sure that Sarah Ferguson will somehow get to attend the Royal wedding, probably as the guest of Prince Andrew, but going as a guest is not the same as that 100% sure thing which Sarah Ferguson is lacking. 1800 invitations to the wedding of William and Kate went out including to possible wedding dress designer, Victoria Beckham, but no Sarah Ferguson. The former aunt to William was snubbed and is supposedly a wreck at not being invited to the big event.

11am huh? So, right in time for primetime US television. No having to wake up at 2am to watch this one.

  2. I will always say Sarah Ferguson took one for the team on that scandal. I fully believe that what she did was the norm for most royal family members and not the exception. The only difference is she got caught on tape.

No one can convince a business man was willing to lay down 700,000 USD on the off chance of a meeting with Andrew in hopes of doing some business. Things were arranged and understood IMO.

Sarah is playing the sacrificial lamb on this. I think they ALL make deals like that and do that kind of stuff, save the Queen.

  3. Wait. 11am in England would be 6am on the east coast. How is that in time for primetime US television? Maybe if they'd had it at 11pm.....

  4. her daughters were invited but she knows she can't go. She put her foot in the shit with her scandal.

  5. England is 5 or 6 hours AHEAD of east coast USA time ENTY - the crack of dawn here is hardly prime time television.

  6. No surprise. There's no way the Queen will let Fergie come close to this event. I don't know if I'll watch it, it's early friday morning so I'll probably be at the lab. Oh well.

  7. ya 3am is NOT primetime dear.

  8. She's been on the royal shit list for a while now, especially since the toe-sucking photos surfaced while seperated from Andrew. Poor Fergie seems to be the one who always gets caught on tape.

  9. Fergie must have known it wasn't going to happen, esp. after that last bribe thing she was trying to setup.

Enty has his time zone's backwards. :)

  10. Hahaha - as soon as I read that I was like, "Huh?" Someone needs to bone up on their geography! We are six hours BEHIND them, not ahead! So, exactly the time Enty said it wouldn't be is when it is! 2 AM PST (west coast) and 5 AM EST (east coast).

  11. Sarah's out for toe sucking but Prince Charles is okay for saying he wanted to be Camilla's tampon? Bit of a double standard there mate. And yes, just like last time, I'll be up at 5 am Toronto time to watch the wedding.

  12. I will be watching every second!!!!

And lest we forget, Sarah was an embarrassment LONG before the most recent scandal.

I get the distinct feeling, anyway, that Wills and Harry (in my head, they are my adopted nephews since I adored their mom so much) weren't close at all to Sarah. I don't even remember EVER seeing a picture of them with Sarah. Ever. (Outside formal balcony pics where everyone is invited.)

So it doesn't shock me at all that she's not invited. The report I heard is that she wasn't expecting to be invited. And I'm sure she HAD to be thinking that. And I'm also sure that Andrew has been told that she can't go NEAR the Abbey or Buckingham Palace for the following reception and Prince Charles's dinner.

I, on the other hand, am sure that my invitation (I am Wills' adopted auntie and all) has somehow gotten lost or stolen in the mail ... :-(

I am not interested in watching this even if it's going to be world-wide. I bet their marriage will not last long.

  14. They are 8 hours ahead of us.

  15. nunaurbiz - print the picture of the invitation and send it in!

I agree with the decision not to invite her. His uncle is divorced and she is no longer part of the family. My brother's ex is not invited to my niece's wedding (my niece by my sister), particularly because of why they split and what kind of person we found out she is.

What made me laugh this morning was hearing that it was going to be a more intimate wedding and in the next breath Kanye West was mentioned as possibly being one of the invitees because William loves hip hop. Really? "Hey, I don't know you but I'm going to be King of England one day. Come celebrate my wedding. You won't know many people but that's okay - you can entertain us while you're there. Free of charge of course, since you are a guest and all."

  16. I don't think she's "supposedly a wreck at not being invited." I read on a news site that she wasn't expecting to be invited and had other plans that day anyway.

  17. KLM - we are 5-8 hours behind the UK, not 6-9, except for one week every spring when the UK has changed their clocks and we haven't yet. So 11am UK time is 6am ET and 3am PT. The only person that is prime time for is Lindsay Lohan.

  18. The royal family has been cushy with entertainers for centuries. Kanye won't be out of place. And he will be paid.

  19. I will be watching each and every lovely minute of the coverage with several like minded friends. In fact, I've already arranged for the day off of work! :-)

  20. I watched every minute of Diana's wedding and will most DEF watch this one, too. I'll probably drive the 2 hrs to visit with my Mom and wake up with tea and scones with her to watch it. We come from strictly English WASP background AND my mother was a lifelong English literature teacher. No way she's missing this shit!

  21. You know, Prince Edward's wife was caught selling access to the royals just like Sarah was, but Edward and Sophie are on the guest list.

The differences between Sarah and Sophie: Sophie is still married to Edward, and Sarah has got *decades* worth of public misadventures to account for.

  22. I didn't invite my ex-aunt to my wedding. In fact I haven't spoken to her since she and my uncle divorced, though I talk to my cousins, her sons, on a regular basis and both of them are invited and coming to my wedding.

Why would William invite Sarah Ferguson? I don't get why this is a big deal.

  23. I think it's WONDERFUL that they chose a Friday. Is that a common day for a British or Royal wedding? Because they are being EXTREMELY thoughtful to a certain former colony. And it will pretty much be prime time in India as well. There are a lot of televisions in Britain's former colonies. Plus the Diana connection is important to anyone over 25 all over the world. It's gonna be huge, and I wouldn't miss it for anything.

  24. Ohhhhh....I'll watch. :)

  25. 1800 people? Is that considered "intimate" for a royal wedding?

I don't see a big deal w/ not inviting IF William wasn't close to her.

I would like to see the wedding but I'm not getting up that early to watch so I guess I'll have to see news highlights about it or read about it on here.
