ReplyDelete@Lissette He is the founder of a radical Baptist church that is known for picketing the funerals of soldiers. He even "thanked" the gunman in a YouTube video...I refuse to watch, just read on a news report. He pickets with signs that say God is punishing us for our evil ways...

ReplyDeleteFred Phelps is not going to picket a little girls funeral because she was a democrat.... He is a religous zealot of the worst stripe and often pickets the funerals of teachers, children and of course servicemen to tell the world that god hates fags (his words).
Oh Lord, that Phelps character sounds awful. RIP, little angel. My husband watched the interview with the girl's mom on the news yesterday and was tearing up just telling me about it.

ReplyDeleteThat Phelps guy and his family have picketed the funerals of soldiers who died in Afghanistan/Iraq, here in Oklahoma. Why? Because there are gays in the military. He says he cheers everytime someone dies of cancer, because God is punishing them for sinning.
ReplyDeleteAnd he picketed the funeral of the Amish girls who died several years ago. This guy is an asshole of unimaginable proportions.
My condolences to those who lost loved ones in Tucson.
P.S. That picture of Wood and Winehouse looks like they are plotting an alliance on Survivor.
ReplyDeletePhelps just wants attention. He picks out funerals to picket not because he actually has a coherent reason to do so but just because is an enormous asshole who loves the attention.
ReplyDeleteI do not condone violence but I won't be sorry when that man is dead. I'm torn between pity and revulsion for his offspring, many of whom have been brainwashed into being his followers.

The people in Tucson died on January 8th, Elvis Presley's birthday, and all these Fred Phelps posts have the song "Devil in Disguise" running through my head now.

ReplyDeleteThanks for Christina's picture and thanks for all of you caring. I live in Tucson and have been covering the story all weekend for a news outlet. I knew many of the people, including Gabrielle Gifford and Judge Roll, involved in the shootings and my bf was close with many of them, too. It's been a rough weekend, especially when we keep hearing angry talk not abating, but even escalating.
