Nas Owes $6.5M In Taxes
Maybe Nas was telling the truth when he told a court that he needed his child support payments to Kelis reduced from $50K a month to $25K a month. Of course that would also depend on whether he would be willing to stop spending $100K a month on clothes. Anyway, Nas now owes the IRS almost $6.5M in taxes. That is huge. Staggering. And you know they will not go anywhere until they are paid. To owe that much in taxes must mean Nas was making way more money than I thought. I mean he must have made $20M to owe that much in taxes. Is he really that popular? I know he had that hit Life's A Bi**h, but has he had $20M in hits?
With all the interest the IRS charges, his bill probably goes up more each month than most people make in a year.
Yes, he was a hip hop/rap heavyweight. And it sounds as if he had a piss-poor account.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he, Wesley Snipes, Nic Cage, and Val Kilmer can all star in a new reality show "Celebrity Tax Evaders".
ReplyDeleteDon't forget he has a very popular album with Damien Marley! May not be "mainstream" but a lot of people prefer things that are not Katy Perry, Glee or Disney related.
ReplyDeleteRJ - LOVE the idea! They can add that Richard guy from Survivor! Maybe Susie Orman can host.
RJ & Ellen - I love that idea!! Orman as host would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteumm enty nas is a legend in the hip hop world ...they all look up to him ..but thats alot of money to owe uncle sam ...good luck
ReplyDeleteI hope that I'm not supposed to feel sorry that he didn't know how to pay his bills like us commonfolk.
ReplyDeleteSuspect...how far back does this go? If it started around the time of his split from the ex-wife I'm calling BS. If it's before then, he needs an entire new team of yes men.
ReplyDeleteUm Nas has been huge for about 15 years. Belly was what, like 99? That film is freaking amazing. He had a couple albums before that. I've always been a fan of his art.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he's produced too lol (now I want to listen to "you owe me" ironic lyrics)
Hopefully the AMAZING album Distant Relatives with Damian Marley will help pay this off; seriously he may not be mainstream, but this is a classic album that should be given a listen just once.
ReplyDeleteBSoM
Could a substiantial part of the 6.5 million be fees and penalties?
