Javier Bardem & Daniel Craig
The news that Daniel Craig would be back for James Bond #23 was pretty big in its own right. But, now the news is that Daniel will be joined by Javier Bardem playing the villain in the new movie. I know many of you will be hoping they will have a climax ending fight scene which involves them ripping off their clothes and then wrestling in $240 worth of pudding, so keep your fingers crossed.
Javier is great at playing the bad guy. I mean really good. No Country For Old Men? Please. There have not been many better villains in all of films. I actually think they should let him live in the next one just so we can see him twice. This could be the best James Bond ever. The only thing that could ruin it? Kim Kardashian wants to be a Bond girl. Not a great idea. Actually a horrible idea. If they make some new Austin Powers movie she can be in that one. Back in the day, the Bond girls would be people you had never seen before. Lately though, there have been some high powered names who have played some great female roles in the movies. I really thought Halle Berry as Jinx might get a spin off movie.
"they will have a climax ending fight scene which involves them ripping off their clothes and then wrestling in $240 worth of pudding"
ReplyDeleteHell yeah!!!! :-) Ok so maybe I took it out of context!!!
Someone pointed out to me not long ago that Javier Bardems haircut in "No Country For Old Men" is identical to Julie Andrews' in "The Sound of Music".
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it means, but it intrigues me.
After Catwoman bombed no Jinx spinoff.
ReplyDelete"hoping they will have a climax ending fight scene which involves them ripping off their clothes and then wrestling in $240 worth of pudding"
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. Oh HELL yeah.
But it'll probably only be on the DVD extras.
Let me say now that I was one who originally said "a blonde Bond? No way!"... and I was soooooooo wrong.
I cannot wait.
Barry and Levon! Awwwwwww yeahhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Sofia Vergara or Christina Hendricks as Bond girls?
ReplyDeleteImagine the obligatory bikini scene in that movie... Epic!!
Fuck off Kim. If she's ever in this movie, Bond will be dead to me forever.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to nominate Mila Kunis as the Bond girl.
ReplyDeleteRQ : Daniel Craig trumps KK but I agree with your sentiments. I can't stand her.
ReplyDeleteI think this is just another (mama) Kardashian PR trick. Just throw it out there and see if it will stick to a media wall. If enough people talk about it, maybe it will happen.
ReplyDeleteNo way will Daniel Craig share a scene with Kim K.
I would so love it if Zoe Saldana could be a Bond girl, she could some hot Latina with a name like Ivanna Merengue, lol
ReplyDeleteDidn't see "No Country For Old Men", but Javier was pretty appealing as the artist/lover in "Vicki Christina Barcelona." I am in the minority, but Daniel Craig has never done anything for me.
ReplyDelete@Ms Cool - most definitely, but I'll have to get my Craig fix elsewhere :) And I agree with timebob - this is probably wishful thinking on Kim's part. Bond girls don't usually look like aliens anyway.
ReplyDeleteReese - No Country for Old Men was pretty good with Bardem playing the bad guy. He was very creepy lol.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be something for Craig's new gf would play his lover in Bond?????
I actually think they should let him live in the next one just so we can see him twice.
ReplyDeleteOh well, thank you VERY MUCH Enty for the spoiler. No Country is one of my pending Netflix movies. *sniffs*
Luckily, I have a short attention span and won't recall what you posted when watching the flick.
Kimmie wants a lot of things....she's not getting this one...
ReplyDeleteKK as a Bond girl? Ludicrous.
ReplyDelete@Mango: Enty was referring to the fact that every Bond villain dies at the end of every Bond film, and that if Javier survived his turn in #23, he could be drooled over again in #24. No relevance at all to NCfOM.
ReplyDeletelooserdude...Mila Kunis would be GREAT, because she's Russian too, so there's that angle.
ReplyDeleteA Bond Girl must have weight as an actress, as well as being drop-dead gorgeous.
These DC Bond movies are NOT the cartoon-action flicks that Moore, Dalton, and (sorry) Brosnan did. Remember, Denise Richards was a Bond Girl in one of those...so KK wouldn't be far off if they were still doing those kind of Bond movies.
The Bond movies DC does are way too dark, deep, and require real acting. KK is being delusional. WAY out of her league.
Anyone else notice that KK is juuuuuuuust starting to look exactly like her mother, i.e. aging? Other than the lips, but expect Kim to be messing with her face again very shortly.
This is great! So many movies suffer from having a mediocre actor as the villain. I think the villain should be cast as carefully as the hero, and for once, he was.
ReplyDelete"No Country for Old Men" was EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMcCarty could have a bitchin' adult graphic novel series based on Anton Chigurh, the villian.
I could have sex on Javier's nose. I am so happy that he has not had it mutilated by a surgeon. He must be extremely comfortable with himself.

absolutely correct!
"He must be extremely comfortable with himself."
ReplyDeleteI think the answer is that he's foreign - I don't think any other country is as obsessed with generically "attractive" looks as us.
Sylvia, I really can't picture Rachel Weisz as a Bond girl.
ReplyDeleteEnt got me all hot and bothered with the ripping of the shirts, and now rebellious, contrary and nice talks about having sex on Javier's nose.
Oh. My.
This is great casting. Don't cheapen it with a Kardashian. I do like the Vergara/Hendricks and Kunis suggestions.
I could have sex on Javier's nose???
ReplyDeleteRebellious, that's hysterical!!
Daniel Craig-yes!
ReplyDeleteJavier Bardem-No!
I just don't see it about him. Plus, wasn't it recently implied that he cheated on PC with Julia Roberts? Already knew she (JR) was a douche, but not him.
Oh-Mila Kunis should be in the next film, but can't we do away with the whole Bond Girl thing already?? No self respecting actress should sign up for a film just to parade around as the obligatory piece of ass.
