That did not take long. Jim Toth did something Jake Gyllenhaal never did and that was to get Reese Witherspoon to say yes to a marriage proposal. Not that Jake ever asked. I wonder if he did ask. You never got that sense that he was all that interested in marriage. According to Reese's rep. Reese and Jim are very happy. Well, if they are not happy to be engaged then they really should not be getting married now should they, so that is kind of ridiculous. Would you expect the rep to say, "Although Reese accepted Jim's marriage proposal, the couple is upset because they know that approximately 50% of all marriages end in divorce and they don't hold out much hope they will beat those odds. But, they will still give it a shot."
They have my blessing because he is a Rangers fan. Unless of course he is some bandwagon guy like Reese is with Oregon in which case he can suck it.

ReplyDeleteThe divorce rate is over 50%. I think that entertainers have a better go at it, when the other spouse is not apart of the industry.

I kinda see Reese as having a string of marriages, à la Liz Taylor. Maybe she'll marry this guy twice.

From the gossip I have heard, I understand that she was dating this guy while still bearding for Jake...and then things got serious so she and jake had to "break up". Her relationship with this guy was announced pretty quickly thereafter.

I don't see Reese at all as the kind to divorce and marry like Liz Taylor. Just the opposite. She seems so no-nonsense to the point of being anal. She's one of those women who, really, once she's made up her mind and is determined, there is no getting out. Unless of course you cheat with your costar and cause her public humilation. But really, that's about what it would take once in.
