Carey Mulligan Hates Her Hair

Carey Mulligan has kind of made a name for herself for her acting, but at the same time, because of her hair, she kind of stands out from the crowd and people are more likely to recognize her. I think she realizes this because she told Elle in an interview this month that she absolutely hates her hair.

"I hate my hair. After An Education, I had a small part in Michael Mann's film Public Enemies and he wanted me to dye it white blonde, and it wrecked my hair," the actress complains. "Literally, ruined it. It was falling apart, fried. So I had to cut it off. I cried."

Yeah, I know, life sucks. At least you have hair Carey. Every morning I spend less and less time in front of the mirror because it takes me less and less time to actually count my few remaining hairs. It is tough to do a combover when you have five hairs remaining. I am not even sure they are hairs from my head. They might just be ear hairs gone wild.

Oh, and she also talks about Botox and how doctors are always offering her botox to hide her wrinkles and she starts yammering about her craft and how actors should not get botox. Someone will probably remind her of this interview in ten years when she starts getting it.

  1. I'm kind of glad she doesn't like her hair, it isn't flattering on her at all.

  3. Newsflash Carey, your hair grows. Just wait. It's not a big deal. Seriously.

  4. I don't like it either Carey.

  5. I find her crying about this dumb. You make lots of money, buy a weave and get over it. It's hard for me to feel bad for people who have lots of money to fix dumb things like this.

  6. I'm not going to say I won't get botox, because I can't promise that. As long as my dad and step-mom have a freezer full of botox at their disposal, I just might get desperate when the wrinkles start appearing. I tend to avoid the sun as much as I can, so hopefully I won't have to resort to botox. But we'll see.

  7. Public Enemies filmed spring 09 - that's 18 months ago. Her hair could be down to her shoulders by now even if her head was shaved. Does Michael Mann keep making her cut it?

  8. However, her nose looks like it's perkier.....

Anyway, that is a gimicky hairdo. Look, I'm the new Mia Farrow! I'm young! I'm fresh! I'm a classic!

  11. You hate your hair? Well that makes two of us, Carey.

  12. "Ear hair gone wild"....

    Too funny, Enty.

Most of us hate our hair, big deal.

  13. Enty~don't do the combover!it just draws attention to the baldness and looks so bad, I mean NO ONE can wear a combover!! Embrace the baldness, it is soo much sexier than the combover shit!! Baldness can be very hot and attractive!!
The examples of bad combovers are legion!! The first most glaring example is Trump!! total nightmare!

  14. Some research came out a few days ago that Botox may cause muscle degeneration throughout your body - not just in the areas where you got the shots. Stay the f*ck away from botulism, people!

  15. I agree with Skeeball - Enty embrace the baldness. It's sooo hot! My hubby is bald and I actually get upset when he hasn't shaved for awhile.

  16. What Mooshki said. Not to mention the horrific animal testing.

Aw Carey, you're cute. Somebody RT'd a tweet from the urinal Kardashian the other day about how much she HATES her manicure polish and NEEDS to get it fixed. Seriously? Shut the fuck up with your superficial rich person problems.

  17. I don't have a clue who this girl is. I always mistake her for Michelle Williams in the photos.

  18. Tenley-- that's probably why she hates her hair. Everyone keeps calling her "Michelle."

  19. I love her hair - it sets her apart and she doesn't look like every other actress in Hollywood.

  20. Speaking of Michelle Williams, that new 'do and color ages her about 20 years.

Skinny, blonde and Botox doesn't equal the fountain of youth. Never has, never will.

  21. LOL at "urinal Kardashian", RocketQueen!

If her hair is fried at white blonde, why is her hair still that colour?

I'd completely sympathise with her if she said her hair has to stay short because it's so fug when it's long, and she has cowlicks all over so it limits her style choices, but she goes the "wah wah my hair was cut a long time ago, I hate my hair" route.

  22. I don't know...I love her hair...its nice to see short pixie hairstyles instead of long flowy extensions in the media.
I love her hair...it totally suits her face....she is beautiful to look at.

  23. I just cut 20 inches of gorgeous healthy hair off to donate to a cancer charity that makes wigs because my friend's child has been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to do something symbolic. I look crap with short hair but it will grow.

  24. I think the gamine look works on her, but the grass is always greener...or, should I say, the hair always better...

And HELL NO to the combover bit, Enty--trust me, it doesn't fool anybody, especially not women. (And no, growing the rest of your hair long & wearing it in a ponytail doesn't help, either.) Honestly, I don't think it's as big a deal with most women as guys think it is, and hey, as my mom always says, it must have rubbed off on the headboard of the bed. (Why, yes, my dad IS balding...and you had to ask? ;-) Just go bald with grace and dignity--it's much more flattering in the long run, and much more appealing to women, trust me.

  25. LOL @ your comb over Enty. Those never fool anyone. And I'm still giggling over the comments Michael K made about The Donald's hair yesterday.

  26. Good. I hate her hair too. Hope she grows it out a bit, a pixie cut would look cute!

  27. I like her hair!

I cried after a haircut once. It was beyond horrific. It grew out. No biggie.
