I cringe to think of Mel being thought of as either religious or a star, but I think it's him. I wonder what twisted, fucked up logic he uses for cheating the tax man. I'm sure it's a doozy.
Off topic, but HA! They just mentioned on TV that an "outraged" LeAnn Rimes has been twittering denials that she is pregnant.
Doesn't she do anything besides tweet and sleep with that great catch Cibriani? Bitch needs to get her ass back into the studio because neither of her hobbies pays and Cibriani apparently likes being a kept man.
@Mango: A lot of conservatives wouldn't think it twisted or fucked up at all to pay as little in taxes as possible so it doesn't go to silly things they disagree with like welfare or education or family planning. The wealthy ones just find as many loopholes as they can. And I guarantee this person doesn't think of himself as a hypocrite for giving to his church (voluntary) and not giving to his government (mandatory unless you want to go to jail).
That said, I don't know of any particularly religious stars, ones who actually attend church. The only "church" I can think of that's popular with celebrities would be the Church of Scientology. Who is religious? Maybe this isn't even actor...
I'm gonna go with Jim Caviezel he is super catholic and even refuses to do love scenes. Something about him always struck me as sneaky. Cheating on taxes would make sense.
@ trinnean- I don't know which stars are religious and attend church (other than the COS believers, and do they actually attend services?) but I know of plenty of "stars" who like to thank God when on stage accepting an award. (And how nice it must be to be hand picked by a deity to win a Grammy!)
I too was thinking someone in Scientology but let's face it, just donating to that church and being able to write that off your taxes burns the IRS in itself (the church and the IRS had years-long battles over whether it was a church and could get tax exemptions etc.).
Separately, I don't trust BuzzFoto for one second to know the difference between cheating on taxes and a superrich person taking advantage of legitimate shelters etc. Seriously.
I've always thought Mel's whole motivation with the church is for tax purposes. He can pretty much put as much money under that as he wants, right? How soon before Nicolas Cage tries it? I'm guessing Mel absolutely.
I am not: 1) famous 2) wealthy 3) religious 4) conservative
and *I* want to pay as little in taxes as possible myself.... which really just means I pay what the forms say and pee on the check before I send it in at the last f*&#ing minute on April 15th....
Mel "sugartits" Gibson!
ReplyDeletesugar tits *snicker snicker* that one never gets old!
ReplyDeleteCrazy Mel

I think the "his church" thing definitely points out it is Mel

I can only hope the IRS investigates Mel immediately.

ReplyDeleteHow bout Tyler Perry to switch things up.
ReplyDeleteWho's really openly religious? There's Mel...the Jonas Brothers (well, at least 2 out of the 3 at this point...)...
ReplyDeleteI do like the Jim Caviezel guess!
I'm going to go against the grain and say Tom Cruise.
ReplyDeleteThink about it.
HIS Church.
Tommy's the poster boy for all $cifags.
Also, according to someone at Gawker, Enty makes up some of these blinds.

Kirk Cameron?
ReplyDeleteGood one, Orange! Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteEnt makes up the BuzzFoto blinds?
ReplyDeleteI'll throw in Neal McDonough (sp?) for fun.
It's only hypocrisy if you equate the State with God.
ReplyDelete"Render unto Caesar," etc...

ReplyDeleteEither Kirk Cameron or Willie Ames. No not Willie, 10% of nothing is nothing.
ReplyDeleteCurious what fellow-conservative Jim Caviezel might have to say about his experience filming "The Passion of the Christ" with Mel Gibson.
ReplyDeleteThat one really religious Baldwin brother. Billy I think?
