BuzzFoto Blind Item
This British actor known for his diverse range of theater, film and television productions made a cult favorite movie in the 80′s that didn’t do so well in the box office. He revealed recently he once had a sordid, “experimental” affair with a straight actor he worked with on that film. It was a short-lived romantic relationship, but the two remain good friends to this day.
Tim Curry for either Rock Horror Picture Show or Clue.
ReplyDeleteOops, my bad Rocky Horror was 1975 but he still fits for Clue.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Tim Curry and... Martin Mull? Michael McKean? Christopher Lloyd?
ReplyDeleteOOOOHHH, Lee Ving?
I immediately thought of Brian Blessed? The film being Flash Gordon?
ReplyDeleteI say the butler in the closet with professor plum...and you don't want to know what they used ;)
ReplyDeletei know who tim curry is but i don't know much about him so i went to his wiki. this is an exact quote from the wiki, "...known for his work in a diverse range of theatre, film and television productions." it's the exact same wording, like someone copy-pasted from his wiki to describe him for the blind.
ReplyDeleteI think Legend would also satisfy the "cult favorite" bit, it never made back what it spent. And so I pick TOM CRUISE as his love interest.
ReplyDeletethis gives no opinion whether the cult favorite actor is straight, gay or bi, just that the affair was with a straight actor. it wouldn't surprise me that tim was bi, but i'd be heartbroken if he was gay and i had no chance whatsoever!
ReplyDeleteCult 80's movie - Withnail and I. Richard E Grant (born Swaziland, Naturalised Brit) and Paul McCann.
ReplyDeleteI thought Richard E Grant too!
ReplyDeleteLEE VING HELL YEAH
ReplyDelete"just how many husbands have you had?"
"mine or other womens?"
Oh my - Tim Curry. It must be him. (Wondering when we were going to have any TC gossip on this blog!!)
ReplyDeleteLOURVE HIM!
I believe Tim Curry was born in Australia.
ReplyDeleteRichard E. Grant is straight? I would never have guessed that.
ReplyDeleteKind of a boring blind, BuzzFoto. So a straight actor had a homo experience? He's not the only one.
ReplyDelete@feraltart
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge TC fan. He was born in good ol' England. Grappenhall to be exact.
I'm sure he's been to Australia.
; )
feraltart, he was born in Cheshire. He also did Times Square, but there isn't another male actor of note in that movie. Could have still happened, though but I do like the Tom Cruise guess.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Ian McKellan? Is The Keep a cult classic? Scott Glenn, Jürgen Prochnow
Roddy McDowall and Chris Sarandon
ReplyDeletemovie is Fright Night
maybe?
Based on the wiki language, I am going with Tim Curry.
ReplyDeleteRoddy McDowall has been deceased for many years, now....so he and Chris can't be the blind as they are clearly not "good friends to this day".
ReplyDeleteFirst thought, Tim Curry...going with "Clue" (love that film!!), not sure about the 'straight' actor, but there is definite chemistry btwn TC and Michael McKeon.
Who was in that movie "Buckaroo Banzi" in the 80s besides John Lithgow, who totally fits the clues, too, btw?
ReplyDeletewait, wait, wait...Clue didn't do so well at the box office?!?! It was a classic in our home, and I had most of the lines memorized by the time I was 10!
ReplyDeleteIt's Legend.
ReplyDeleteAnd Tom Cruise.
There were lots of stories about how production went way over and Tom was stuck in England much longer than planned. I think he and Mimi divorced shortly thereafter.
Patrick Stewart-Dune
ReplyDeleteTimothy Dalton in "Flash Gordon." The straight actor being Sam J. Jones.
ReplyDeleteGary Oldman and Alfred Molina-Prick Up Your Ears
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick but as someone else pointed out "Rocky Horror" was in the 70's so I have no clue.
