Random Photos Part One

Shannen Doherty waiting for people to show up at her book signing.
Sum 41 - Birmingham, UK
Well since I see her logos all over town, I figure I should actually post a picture of Tory Burch.
Apparently it was Tom Cruise on the building because these tourists took this photo of Tom.
Here he is learning how to hold a falcon.
Apparently this man loves his toilet paper. Well, public restrooms are not known for their soft paper so this is not a bad idea.
The Situation takes a smoke break.
I have no idea what Tracey Ullman is wearing, but she is the Queen of The Simpsons. That was so long ago when she put them on her show.
And Jennifer Tilly, the woman who makes several million dollars each year off The Simpsons.
The problem with Vanessa Carlton is she needs another song. The 1,000 miles jokes get old after awhile.

  1. How does Tilly make money off of the Simpsons? And she does the voice of Joe's wife on Family Guy, right?

I'd love to go drinking with Shannen Dohert. I bet she's got some stories.

  3. Vanessa Carlton is working on a 4th album. Which is why she is popping up in place again. She dropped her last record label so, not sure if we will get any radio airplay if/when it comes out.

  4. Jennifer Tilly was married to a Simpsons producer, or so I just found online...

  5. @Rocket Queen, Jennifer Tilly was married to Sam Simon who was one of the creators of the Simpson's
Apparently they never had a pre-nup.

Sam owns a piece of the Simpsons and pays Jennifer alimony until she remarries. She has made it clear to Sam she will never remarry (says Sam in interviews I have read).

But don't feel bad for Sam, He is still credited as executive producer on "The Simpsons" (1989), despite not having worked on the show since 1993. He estimates his severance deal earns him around $10million a year.

  6. Sam Simon is a GREAT guy who has sunk his Simpson's wealth into dog rescue, IIRC. He was profiled on "60 Minutes" awhile back. He was very down-to-earth and all about his dog charity.
Google it, it made me cry when I saw the good he does. I think it's therapy dogs too.

Sorry, I have one hand here and can't link it.

  9. @Libby yes he does run a charity for dogs. He takes dogs who are about to be destroyed and then trains to asist disabled and therapy dogs.

    Here is the link -
    http://www.samsimonfoundation.com/

But don't try to donate, nope unlike other celebs. He doesn't accept donations. He funds the charity himself 100%. He really is an amazing guy with a great life.

  10. THANK YOU, Timebob.

I have a cat on me. I can barely use the shift key, let alone google.

That was a BEAUTIFUL profile on "60 Minutes". I was so impressed with him and his attitude about life.
    Thanks again.

  11. As much as Tom Cruise bugs me, it is pretty cool that he does his own stunts.

  12. I'll have to watch that 60 Minutes piece later....sounds good.

    @kimmypie1 - i think so too.

  13. well, maybe she thought marriage was so bad that she didn't want to do it again. That sounds like a personal problem between the two of them.

I like her and she is in my all time absolute favorite movie ever--Saint Ralph.

  14. What's the difference between Vanessa Carlton & Michelle Branch?

And the Situation smokes like a non-smoker. Looks so awkward like he doesn't know what he's doing.

  15. The last time I saw Jennifer Tilly she was on Poker After Dark with her poker pro bf...and she looks DAMN good for 50 somethin or however old she is. Wonder where Meg has been?

I always thought Tracey Ullman was pretty in a girl next door kinda way.

Jeezus Avril Lavigne has THEE WORST TASTE in just about everything...men, clothes, music (sorry Derryck Whibley or whatever your name is)

  16. I agree, chopchop, and thought the same thing...is it "cool" again?

  17. How is it that Meg Tilly is 52 years old???!!! I'm 38 and don't look half as good.

  18. @ Kimmy Pie, me three!

I kinda love Tommy Boy. All the weird, crazy shizola aside, he is uber professional and I've heard he is super nice to his fans and the people he works with. Unlike that hack Jessica Alba who is a c u next tuesday and ignores everyone.

  19. Matt Groening knew comic strips but not comedy.
James L. Brooks knew comedy but not comic strips.
Sam Simon had experience in both animation and comedy, so he was hired as the middleman between the two others and he was instrumental in making The Simpsons a real working show.

However, Simon didn't get along with most of the team, especially the two other creators. He mostly contributed to the first season, was still an executive producer during a few years and he was then left on the side. According to Wikipedia, they have kept the same joke on his name in the credits of all "Treehouse of Horrors" episodes since 1993. He's Sam "Sayonara" Simon.
    So, goodbye...

  20. "Shannen Doherty waiting for people to show up at her book signing."

I'm unsure whether to go with "Did anyone?" or "Shannen Doherty wrote a book?!"

  21. Jennifer Tilly was also in one of my favorite moves, Bound. Rent it from Netflix if you haven't seen it if you want to see Gina Gershon give a good performance in a noteworthy movie.

@ John - re TC being super nice to his fans and the people he works with. Yes, and I've read that he also sets up COS offices at each of his movie locations to try to convert some of the cast and crew to the dark side. He just reeks of phoniness to me. Thanks but no thanks.

  22. Sam Simon is a genius! He did not get along with Matt Groening, but they guy is brilliant. He is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge and it is a shame he left my favorite show. He will be getting residuals from The Simpsons forever! I love Sam Simon.
