Michael Brea Didn't Kill His Mom - Killed Demon Inside Her

Michael Brea, the guy who once appeared on an Ugly Betty episode, gave an interview to The NY Daily News. Why? Who knows? He was probably listening to the same voices that told him to kill his mom. Excuse me, not his mom, the demon inside his mom.

"I was sleeping in my bedroom. God came above my bed and reached his arm to me. I said, 'God, is my time on earth over?' I heard a voice say, 'Yes Michael, today is your last day.'

The next day he went home after work and found his mom cooking chickens in a pot. Michael decided it was not dinner, but black magic. I have no idea what he would think bout a KFC. When she asked him to help, Michael said she spoke with a demonic voice so he went to go get his sword.

"I asked, 'Do you believe in God?' She said, 'No, Michael no,' and began screaming. I began slashing her like this."

I can't believe the guy just opened up and told this. I hope he gets the help he needs, but I also hope he never gets out.

  1. 'I hope he never gets out' - Enty can they imprison you if your guilty by reason of insanity??? clearly he is suffering a psychotic episode, such a sad story.

  4. In the article:

'They just kept saying protocol this and protocol that," said Gregory Clare, whose father owns the building. "Now a woman's dead who should be alive if only the police would have listened.'

    Sad, sad.

    WOW.

Yeah. Dude's mentally ill. Severely mentally ill. He needs help. Period. No need to put that out there. That was uncalled for, Enty. The kid's schizophrenic...and he killed his mom...he's not getting out anytime soon.

  6. I can not believe they interviewed him and that the hospital and his attorney allowed it.

  7. Even if you commit a crime because of a mental illness, you can and often do serve time, but in separate quarters at prisons that have psyc hospitals. You're drugged and imprisoned!

  8. I don't think Enty was out of line, TNC. This guy does need help but that doesn't mean he isn't capable of an extremely violent crime.

His poor mother. I can't imagine what must have been going through her mind. I do hope he gets some proper help for his mental illness and to deal with what he has done to his mom.

  9. It's like the Matrix defense, but a little bit better.

Yeah, the guy obviously has some serious mental issues and does need help. And that help needs to be given to him in a facility that he cannot get out of.

  10. I just read that article. Disgusting. Completely disgusting.

If God told him it was his last day on Earth, then how does he explain the fact that he's still alive?

  11. I can't stand people who justify their crazy by saying "God made me do it."

Whether this was a pure psychotic break or one caused by drugs, I hope he never gets out, either.

  12. So if there's a breakthrough and suddenly we have medicine that can treat this type of illness more effectively than what's out there, he should never get out?

Sorry people don't ask to be mentally ill. We don't know if he was abusing drugs, or even if he had been previously diagnosed with mental illness. This might of been his first serious break.

But when he comes down, and realizes what he has done, I think that will be one hell of a punishment right there.

That being said, the staff at Bellvue violated his rights. He should not have had access to the media in this state, and they've seriously jepordized his case. Has this guy even been given a lawyer yet. I hope he has someone who can advocate for him.

  13. In cases where someone is convicted of willful murder, IMHO they should never again see the light of day, despite the legal state of mind at the time the crime was committed.
If they're declared legally insane at the time of the crime, and sentenced to life in an institution, should a new treatment come along that would treat their illness, by all means, treat the illness.
    But don't let them out.
Willful murder is wholly different from accidental.
Intent is the sole deciding factor.
Now on another tack... who in the HELL granted media access to this man? Aren't there supposed to be laws preventing this kind of thing?

  14. This man's own words describe classic schizophrenia. Once (and IF) he can stabilize on the proper meds, he will have his own hell to live in, with the realization of what he has done. The problem with this particular mental illness is that, as long as the meds are working and taken correctly, the person is typically okay. The problem becomes that they often become suspicious or paranoid about their meds (Someone's trying to poison them, etc). Then they top taking them, and the vicious cycle starts again. Having worked with schizophrenic adults with young children, I can only say that this is one of the most devastating, insidious and destructive mental illnesses there is. The whole thing is just unbelievably sad.

  15. I think his punishment & rehabilitation period should be equivalent to what it would be if he didn't have a serious mental illness. He shouldn't get out of jail early if he can treat his schizophrenia (if that is what he has) better.

IMO, that needs to be taken in to account on where and how he is placed. Whomever at the hospital let him speak to the media should be fired. I wonder if that would be thrown out of any trial.

  16. In some states, you have to prove that the insane patient did not know right from wrong, during the killing. They can trace that through actions. He will go away for a long time.

  17. If someone holding a sword asks you if you believe in GOD, you say YES - HELL YES!!

  18. Joseph - Not true. Remember Columbine? One shooter asked a girl if she believed in God. She answered yes and was killed. I figure if it were my son asking me if I believed in God, then he should know my beliefs. Besides, he clearly had a psychotic episode and I'm not sure any answer she would have given him would have stopped him.

Cases like this make me sad. Treatment would have most likely prevented this. And what's even more depressing is that this makes people distrust those with mental illnesses, when most sufferers are harmless.

  19. You ever wonder what would happen if one of these stories was real? I mean, what if his mother really was possessed by a demon? I guess that's why we have trials

  20. @d, yeah what if the story was real and he is not kidding? u just never know..

but his poor mom though.. she never knew when she gave birth to him that he will be the reason for her death.. if she only knew..
