Gary Collins Drinking And Driving Again - More People Injured

You would think a guy who has killed someone previously after drinking and driving would get it. It being the fact that you have a problem and maybe you can't do anything about your drinking, but you sure as hell can do something about the driving. Call a friend, cab, walk, do anything but drinking and driving. Gary Collins has a warrant out for his arrest after leaving the scene of an accident last night in Mississippi. Because he left the scene he will probably not be charged with his fourth drunk driving arrest in the past ten years. According to police reports, Gary hit a car with his own and injured a woman and her child. When Gary got out of the car, it was obvious he was drunk and the woman said she had called the police. Gary then promptly left. A-hole.

  1. That sounds like depraved indifference and attempted vehicular manslaughter to me. Charge him up!

  2. Not condoning DUI. However, the 89-year-old man killed in the previous crash was at fault as the elderly driver ran a redlight and collided with Collins. Collins shouldn't be driving. I agree with that, but to say that he killed the man in the other crash is stretching the facts.

  3. @obitguy

You could make the argument that had he not of been drunk, his reaction time would have been better and maybe he wouldn't have crashed into the old fella, even though he was the one at fault.

  4. If you get a Colorado dui, it's madatory jail time. In Washington state it's a felony.

  10. It seems like he's on a fast downward spiral. I hope he stops drinking and driving. Perhaps its best at this point if he just stops drinking, period.

  13. Wait? If you are drunk and you leave they can't charge you with drunk driving? So, the odds are in your favor if you leave the scene??? Is that really how it works? Please tell me I am confused or misunderstanding something.
    Thanks

  14. I have a good friend who loves, loves, loves to drink and drinks too much, too often and has no intention of ever stopping. So you know what he did? He hired a neighbor of his who has a chauffeur's license (and who needs the money) to drive him around when he wants to have a good time. And he has a lot less money than Gary Collins. I have zero patience for the wealthy who pull stunts like this. Pay a driver, rich people!!
