Toni Braxton Owes $50M

Toni Braxton might be rethinking the whole leaving Vegas thing. According to TMZ, Toni has filed for bankruptcy again and says that although she is worth between $1M-$10M, she owes up to $50M. How do you ever end up owing $50M? When you cross that owing more than you are worth thing doesn't that make you stop and say, "hmm, maybe I don't need to charter that jet to buy some BBQ."

A singer like Toni Braxton should never be running out of money. All she has to do is play the casino circuit and she should be able to make a $1M a year. This is not the first time Toni declared bankruptcy, she did so back in 1998 also.

  1. No one would loan her the amount of money were she owes 50 mil. Something's off, but that's not to say she isn't in debt.

  2. Well I owe more than I'm worth but that figure is a lot smaller than $50 million!

  3. I like Toni but she's an idiot. There is no excuse for her to be so deep in debt.

  4. I saw her in concert soon after the first bankruptcy and she is absolutely amazing. I don't see how she cannot bring in money as an opening act like she did then, or like was stated, in Vegas. I'd pay to see her in Vegas.

  8. She is an idiot, she must be surrounded by bad financial advisers because there is no way she can go bankrupt, not once but twice?!!?

  9. Toni always has a tragic story. When she filed bankruptcy the first time around she blamed her handlers, later she was drawing attention to herself because of her heart disease and she does commercials because of her son's autism now she's bankrupt again. Even while she was with her husband (whom she's divorcing) there was drama with one of her managers.

She always has a sad story to tell and of course it's everyone else's fault instead of hers.

I wish she'd stop trying to play sexy, and instead grow up, become responsible and just sing.

  10. After the first bankruptcy, Oprah offered to teach her how to manage her money. I guess she didn't listen.

  11. I remember when she claimed bankruptcy the first time and everyone was sad for her...this time...I doubt people will be. How do you go into hock for $50M? I work in finance, and some people declare bankruptcy on a regular basis because they're just not willing to live within their means. I'm getting that vibe here.

I don't understand what there is to buy for that much money. How many houses, cars, planes, clothes and jewels do you need? Amazing.
