State Department Employee Arrested For Spying On Celebrities
A State Department employee was arrested by the FBI for going through the files of celebrities and looking at their information. Ali Lohan was one of the "celebrities." Can you imagine losing your job just because you wanted to see when Ali Lohan was born? Of course it was not just Ali, there were hundreds of people this woman looked up, but why risk losing your job and jail for Ali Lohan?
Plus, what is there to see? When you get a passport there is not a whole lot of information you even have to complete. Whoo hoo, I know when Ali was born. I guess it would give you an address at the time the application was processed, but not much more than that. Dina of course spoke out because anytime she gets a chance to speak she will and she said she was petrified to hear about it. I already thought she was petrified.
The Lohan family attorney wants to know what the Justice Department is doing to protect celebrities. Umm, how about the rest of the country. We don't matter? Plus, the department did do something, they arrested the woman.
How pathetic of Dina to discuss this at all. Most people who are "hacked" will just ignore it and let the authorities do their job. Not Momma Lohan. Gotta issue a press release about it.
ReplyDeleteOh hell, if I were 19, I'd probably get knocked around for this too. Kids snoop.
ReplyDeleteGet over it Dina, seriously.
ReplyDeleteHaaaa! Good one, Enty: "I already thought she was petrified."
ReplyDeleteThe employee just wanted to see when Ali was really born. She didn't believe the whole "16-year-old" bullshit. What they haven't released yet was that the employee also checked the birth dates of Rachel Zoe & Chelsea Handler.
ReplyDeleteAli Lohan is a celebrity ?
ReplyDeleteMISCH...well technically she is a celebrity....if she wasn't would Enty be talking about it...nope.

ReplyDeletelol@chopchop. I thought the exact same thing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if I may, it's kind of a huge deal to "snoop" when you work in government. Especially the Justic Dept. Yikes!
I'll take her job!
She is seriously dressed to the nines. This can't be her mug shot?
ReplyDeleteI'm with @chopchop!
ReplyDeleteIs the girl in the photo the one arrested??
Does that mean she had access to their social security numbers too? B/c obviously we know why anyone would flip out about that.
I'm pretty sure that photo is of Ali - aka the second coming of Lindsay.
ReplyDelete...at first she was afraid, she was petrified...♫
ReplyDelete@RocketQueen - That's Ali??? Talk about a good photo! That needs to be her permanent Facebook photo.
ReplyDeleteLOL @Pookie!!
"Plus, what is there to see?"
ReplyDeleteWell, that flippant comment proved that the person who wrote this blog entry is certainly no lawyer. Any lawyer would immediately recognize the seriousness of this sort of privacy breach, and would know what kind of information is available for viewing - and probably selling to the tabloids. Confidential information such as home addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, information about marital status and about one's spouse. Proof of citizenship. Renewal information, which updates the details from the initial application. Probably also information about dates and locations where the person left and re-entered the country.
In other words, all kinds of goodies that the paps and the tabs would pay good money to get their hands on, the better to track their quarry.
Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated occurrence. Quite a few people have been fired and prosecuted for unauthorized viewing of confidential files, whether it's tax returns, passport files, birth records, banking records, student loan records, and health records. A lot of times, the people charged weren't even government employees, but worked for private companies to whom work requiring such access had been outsourced. And, of course, we've already heard of people in the healthcare field snooping in celebrities' files. They're just as likely to snoop in the files of people they know personally.
I work in a library. Access to the patron database is strictly controlled. Only authorized staff get access, and only to the degree required for their job. Unauthorized viewing of any patron's records is a firing offense - and hey, seeing what kind of books you check out is nowhere near as sensitive as a passport or health record.
Ali looks so sad.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there's a dark, slimy place in hell for Dina Lohan. God I hate that bitch. Yes, it's not cool that people in certain jobs can spy on celebrities. There's curiosity - I mean, who wouldn't try to look up at least one celebrity? Then you'd forget about it and live your life, right?
ReplyDeleteThen there are those slimebags that sell the personal information they glean on a famous person to the tabloids. The woman likely deserved to be fired. She didn't just look. She either spread the info or tried to sell it.
That photo of Ali reminds me of that site I stumbled upon once where underage Romanian women were advertising themselves as prospective brides to rich, old, fat American men. Still haunts me, and I wish I'd never been there.

ReplyDeleteI don't blame Dina for being pissed, her child's personal info was breached. You can blame her for many things but I understand how violated she feels, Ali is just a child. It's creepy knowing someone who was paid with your tax dollar is doing this. It doesn't make her a bad mother, had she said nothing she'd be a bad mother for not caring. Sometimes you just can't win.
ReplyDeleteThat is Ali in the photo? Seriously?
ReplyDelete@zandra: "Ali is just a child." Lindsay's just a child as well, a child trying to work in Hollywood, against all odds, like the E-trade assault.
ReplyDeleteSo since it's a general opinion on these boards that Ali is just a nobody, shouldn't y'all be outraged that her privacy has been severely violated?
