I have heard of some pretty idiotic things in my life, but Kanye West replacing a perfectly good set of teeth with diamonds and gold might just be at the top of the vanity idiot list. In an interview on Ellen, Kanye showed off his new set of bottom teeth which are made of diamonds and gold. It looks like a grill so Ellen asked if it was and Kanye said, "It's really my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row of teeth. I guess there's just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do."
It is one thing if you have bad teeth and need to have them replaced anyway, but he had great teeth and had them removed. What kind of dentist would willingly do that? Yes, I know, one who is paid a lot and will get lots of free publicity as a result of this.
I think they look stupid. In other news he said that after the whole Taylor Swift thing he just decided to get away so went to Japan and to Rome to get away from the paps and the tabloids. Huh. Hear that Lindsay? Yeah, as if she would ever do that.

I guess I'm disappointed, all the uber talented musicians are dying off like MJ and what I see nowadays is the people coming up who are talented have zero humbleness about them. They are fake just by trying to conform to the idea of coolness or as Kanye puts it 'rock and roll'ness.
This era sucks right now. I wnna go back to the 90's and 80's when ppl gave less of a fuck :(

Not to mention the inability to just hang out at Tower Records all day and listen to some cool underground stuff. Everything is SO gimmicky and contrived. And the best part is that Kanye thinks he's SO rock and roll. Just like Taylor Swift thinks her John Mayer revenge poem is SO deep and edgy. Gag.
ReplyDeleteNot the most original idea he's ever had. It kind of smells of desperation. If they were rotten, it's one thing, but to mess with perfectly healthy teeth is just stupid. I can't imagine that he had his teeth pulled. Looks to me like they might be precious metal crowns with diamonds imbedded. But, even to do that, you have to cut back the natural tooth to a post, and cement the crowns over top.

his whole mouth was so screwed up from the car accident (does everyone really forget his song through the wire"?) that it is highly unlikely those so called "great teeth" you speak of were really his teeth but veneers or something like that anyway...so it is not as ridiculous as you are making it out to be...i would never do it, but then again i will never have as much $ as he does...

ReplyDeleteI am baffled why this is news, he has talked about it before, even posted pics of it on twitter long ago. He had a really bad car accident years ago and lost those teeth. He didn't quite decide to go have all his bottom teeth removed and replaced with diamonds.

He could do so much good with the money he blew on his teeth. think about all of those people who lost their homes, can't afford to eat, can't afford clothes. are those blood diamonds? how many people lost their lives to bring those stones over here, just to go into his mouth.

ReplyDeleteKanye's teeth were already fake; he simply had the veneers removed and replaced with this diamond encrusted mess. (He was in a bad auto accident several years ago and lost most of his teeth a well as broke his jaw, which he had to have wired shut for some time.)
