John Mayer Dumped Taylor Swift - Taylor Gets Him Back

Taylor Swift has never been shy about making it perfectly clear to whom she is referring in her songs. On her latest record, it seems pretty obvious that she is slamming John Mayer. Apparently he broke her heart and I don't think it was in an innocent kind of puppy love way but rather, using her and then spitting her out in his serial dating and churning lifestyle.

On her record, Taylor has the following lyrics:

"Dear John

"I see it all now that you're gone Don't you think I was too young To be messed with The girl in the dress Cried the whole way home I should've known.

"It was wrong Don't you think nineteen's too young To be played By your dark, twisted games When I loved you so.

"My mother accused me of losing my mind But I swore I was fine You'll add my name to your long list of traitors Who don't understand And I'll look back in regret I ignored what they said 'Run as fast as you can.

Yeah, he screwed her over good, but this is some pretty good revenge she is dishing right here.

  1. Love it....a taste of his own medicine...Perfect !
But it would have been even better if she never got involved with the shit in the first place.

  4. Not quite "You Oughta Know," but still a pretty good slap in the face.
John Mayer is SUCH a douche! Although I don't much care for her, the poor gal should have known better...

  5. pfft. if Taylor Swift didn't know that John Mayer was a d-bag with a capital D... well then.

I don't know that I even consider her lyrics "revenge". She's basically telling him (and the world) that he broke her heart - and that she was in love with him!?!? Revenge would have been saying that he had a tiny peen or a bad lover - at least that's my vision of revenge.

  6. Sadly all young women have a douchebag in their past.. and most of us learn from it.

Well played Taylor! Very well played girl!

  7. Did she not get the memo that Mayer is a douche prior to hooking up with him?

  9. Dear Taylor
You are too young if you think you can change a man.

    The End

  10. So I'm the only person who finds her lyrics to be incredibly juvenile and lame? She's too sweet for me. Now, if John Mayer fucked with Pink - that would be a different story and made of awesome.

  11. And he's so creepy looking...I don't even want to hear him sing because of it...I'm no Taylor Swift or Jennifer Aniston but how desperate are these women to allow themselves to be used by him??? Is everything in this "business" an opportunity? How sad.

  12. its about time taylor stopped writing about guys who eff her and leave her, especially if they're true stories. at some point she should smartin up #kanyeshrug

  13. Susan, no you are not alone. I can't get into her music. I mean Tanya Tucker has quite a past, but she was singing Delta Dawn for goodness sakes at 13. Now those are LYRICS.

  14. what are these /kayne shrugs?

  15. OK I am soooo sick of Taylor. You're 19 he is 32. He didn't want to be your best friend, he didn't want to be your mentor, he didn't want to be your prince charming.

He wanted your young poonani and you gave it to him. You're not a victim you're just a 2AM hump and pump like the rest of the women in his life. Get over it.

  16. Awwww, Taylor did you think you could change him and make him a "good boyfriend?" What a dumb little girl! Now go back to writing silly teen anthems and singing them in your one range voice. I'm sure there will be another Jonas brother to come along in a day or two.

Can you tell I'm sick of "poor, sweet, innocent" Swifty?

  20. lol @ 0! #kanyeshrug is an immediate classic

I kind of feel sorry for Taylor because she's so young, but come on - the warnings were all there.

Mayer is an asshole - through and through. He reinforces it daily.

  21. I don't care if she is 19-how can John Mayer not feel like a complete perv bedding her. What a total loser. Reminds me of so many of the guys I dated in my naive young past.

  22. @Susan, i am SO with you on that one. this kind of looks like the kind of 'poem' an angry teenage girl would scribble on her binder in 3 period math because her first and one true love of 2 weeks just dumped her.

  23. Yeah having a hard time feeling sympathy for her. And this revenge song is sort of pathetic. Sometimes you need to be the bigger person and hold your head high and move forward, reminding yourself how awesome YOU are and if some dude is too dumb to realize that, don't waste another second on him. Easier said than done, sure, but it can be done and you'll feel better about yourself in the long run when you look back and see that you didn't do anything to show him that he hurt you. Don't give him that satisfaction. And I'm getting really tired of her lyrics. Same song, different tune. Over and over and over...

  24. LOL @ timebob & also #kayneShrug

I love Taylor...but she should have known better than to even mess with Mayer. I highly doubt this embarrassed him like she embarrassed whichever Jonas she was with (Joe?). Maybe mentioning his (lack of) sexual napalm...that would have done the trick.

  25. Hmmm, I'm no huge Taylor fan, but she was 19 while he was 32, that is more HIS responsibility over a teenagers'! Who of us girls as teens was smart when it came to a charmer? Maybe a few, but not me or the majority I would think.
    I'm firmly on her side!

  26. So let me get this straight, she has a song on her album called "Mean" about how mean it is when people criticize her online, and yet in other songs on the album she trashes other celebrities in a not subtle at all fashion. Quite ironic.

  27. love her...and i so wish he'd hook up w/ goopy...they're perfect for each other...pretentious, over-rated, obnoxious and awkward. what was truly funny is the way taylor was so gracious to him the times he caught her show on tour. she's a classy one, go her.

  29. Listen, I was 19 once upon a time. I got together with a complete sleazebag who broke my heart. We were both in college, so he wasn't some been around the block and then some 30+ douchebag. There's no age restriction on being an asshole.

Everyone I knew wondered what a "nice girl" like me was doing with a douche like him (he gave me The Joy of Sex to "look over" so we could eventually "practice" it...ewwwww! Never did the deed with him, thank goodness).

Most girls that age still have stars in their eyes. Funny, but Don Henley's "End of the Innocence" was popular at the time I was seeing him. Couldn't have put it better. I might not have had sex with him, but I was super jaded by the time the relationship ran its course.

  30. P. S. Taylor's young enough to believe that "I can change him" shit. Wouldn't be surprised if he fed her that ancient line of bs. What was Jennifer Aniston's excuse?

    ReplyDelete
  31. John Mayer a douche? Not really

I think the women KNOW what they're getting into when they get involved with him.

    Why are they so surprised?
    She's an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I knew they were going to hook up the night I saw John Mayer tweet that he really wanted to work with her. It was just out of the blue. Now why would John want to work with a country musician so badly?

His picture should be next to douche in the dictionary.

    ReplyDelete
  33. She is going to find herself all alone and unable to sustain a serious romantic relationship because now every guy on the planet knows if they are with her for any longer than a minute and a half that she is going to write about them in a not too flattering way on her next record...which btw will be sung in that childish monotone, out of tune voice.

    ReplyDelete
  34. She's not an idiot. She's 19. I fell head over heels with some glorious losers at 19. Cut her some slack.

  35. i'm with renoblondee. most of us have been there---didn't listen to mom, didn't listen to our friends. yeah, he's fucked around a lot but 'we're different.'

jeez, people here are harsh. shit, if i could've written songs about it, i would've, by god. that's what songwriters do---they write from life. not one damn thing wrong with that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. She's as crappy a songwriter as she is a singer. What is the appeal?

  39. Look at it this way--yes, most of the people who read gossip blogs, etc. are all too aware that JM is the Governor of Douchachusetts, but I'm not convinced that's common knowledge in the world at large, and particular among country music fans. She was young, foolish, probably convinced that he'd be different with her...and, well, he wasn't. Some of us have done the same damn fool thing when we were a hell of a lot older than she is, so I'm cutting her some slack on this, and if her song makes a pile more people realize just how big of a d-bag he really is, then living well really will be the best revenge, especially if it gets you a top 40 hit, eh?

  41. I'm another who doesn't find this good revenge. At all. And I too have noticed that she tells about and trashes literally everyone she kisses but no one can utter one word about her. She WILL one day have someone write a hit single about what a bad lay she is or somesuch, and it will be an overnight pop culture phenomenon because it will be so damn funny and she will be wayyyyy past deserving such a very public comeuppance, you all do know that, right?

  42. There's a reason older men like to go for younger girls: younger girls haven't yet learned the difference between fascinating and fucked up. Once they do learn, they steer clear - but hey, there's always more younger girls who haven't learned yet.

  43. Have to agree with Ice Angel and others. She's 19! That's skeevy perv for Mayer to go for her. Before this he was a douchebag. Now he's a perv.
