Dianna Agron - GQ Photos "Not My Favorite Idea"
Dianna Agron has a blog and yesterday she chose to write about the GQ photos in which she stars with Cory Monteith and Lea Michele. Dianna apologizes to Glee viewers for the photos - kind of. She does say that the photos do not represent the underdog quality of Glee and for that she apologizes. She also says that the photographer wanted a heightened version of "Hit Me Baby One More Time," which Dianna was not entirely comfortable doing. To her credit though, she says in the post that she chose not to walk away and taking responsibility for her actions.
I admire her for writing about it and not filtering her words through a publicist. You can read the entire post here.
Good for her, and the photog is a creep.
ReplyDeleteIs she the same person who took to her Twitter today and basically defended the photos? I get that you want attention but at least pick a side and stick to it.
ReplyDeleteI really liked what she wrote. If she offended anyone, she apologizes but she is not making excuses for what she did. I wish more people in Hollywood would be as candid as she was. Also, none of the three in the magazine commented on twitter about the photos today.
ReplyDeleteI liked it, too. I generally like this girl, actually, since reading the Rolling Stone interview from last year.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Glee, but I saw the GQ pics on Dlisted and they did raise my eyebrows because I know many tweeners live for this show and my prudish self thought the pics were a bit much. Is Glee meant for kids? This all seems like a well-crafted publicity stunt.
ReplyDeletegood for her. god knows that famewhore Lea Michelle won't say a peep while enjoying the most desperate cry for attention since Miley Cyrus on the Teen Choice awards.
ReplyDeleteI am SO TIRED of girls being told they need to be/look like whores in Hollywood to be taken seriously. Finally we had a show that celebrated all kinds and then Lea poses like a $2 hooker despite having amazing talent to completely ruin it.
I didn't see what the big deal was about these pictures. The actors are well over age, and it's for GQ Magazine for goodness sake. The PTC themselves acknowledged that the magazine is "explicitly written for adult men". Nobody's tweeners should even be looking at the magazine!
ReplyDeleteHer high and mighty 'why are your kids looking at this, i was sheltered as a child' attitude grated on me a bit but she redeemed herself later in the blog. I too don't see the big deal. I understand they're playing high school students but haven't the 'kids' from 90210 done Maxim shoots?
ReplyDeleteI bet Lea is getting these made into Christmas cards as we speak. cannot stand her. Talented as hell, but her attitude ruins it.
The big deal is that they posed like high school girls...and high school girls are usually under 18 and minors. My daughter is a junior in highschool and fortunately she hasn't bought into the lie that girls have to show alot of skin and skin and be all T&A to be attractive. If the GLEE actresses want to pose for sexy pics, that's there business, but pose as WOMEN, not as high school girls.
ReplyDeleteMan, my spelling was the pits. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteDianna is the real star of that show, in many ways, but she can't sing like Lea so she will never get the same level of attention. I've been reading her blog for months now and she comes across as smart, compassionate, content, and even humorous in a gentle, pleasant way. There's something 'peaceful' about her, she seems to be one of the more emotionally secure actresses in Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteall this is about is, GQ trying to sell magazines.

ReplyDeleteHmm...i think what she wrote was well said. I think the photos are kind of lame actually.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in middle school, I had this advertisement that I loved that I had pulled out a magazine and hung up on my wall. It was this (bad-ass) girl sitting on her bed, reading a magazine, with the thought bubble caption: "oh yeah, I always stand around my gazebo in my underwear." I loved that they were making fun of the "sex sells" philosophy.
When I saw the pictures of Lea & Diane in school IN their underwear, it made me think of that ad.
