The Biebs And Punk'd
Everyone is making a big deal of the fact that Justin Bieber is going to be the new host of Punk'd when it makes its return to MTV. So what? It is not like he is probably going to be participating in any of the punking attempts. I mean did you see his acting on CSI? There is no way he can convince anyone of anything when it comes to that. The only thing he will do is the setup and come out with that big grin on his face and tell everyone they were Punk'd.
Of course since he is approaching 1 billion views on YouTube, the guy obviously has fans and those fans will not care about anything but seeing him so I guess it is a win for MTV. It is a loss for me though because Ashton Kutcher will probably show up most of the time since he has absolutely nothing else to do that is remotely popular.
meh
ReplyDeleteDitto Patty.
ReplyDeleteAnd, b/c I am obsessed with celebrity hair, I loathed this GD haircut back in the 70's when Bobby Goldsboro and Bobby Sherman sported it.
Get something NEW, people!!!
I kinda thought the whole world was being Punk'd when I first heard people were going nuts over this kid.
ReplyDeleteYes but with his name attached to it, millions of little girls will tune in every week on the off chance that they will get to see him--thus turning a crappy remake of a show into an instant ratings hit.
ReplyDeletei'm gonna say he has rabid fans, not 1B fans. little girls and tweens will watch that shit endlessly.
ReplyDeletei can't tell you how many Beastie Boys- License To Ill cassettes I went through when i was 11. ;o)
He is very talented, but I don't see the appeal.
ReplyDeleteHe really needs a new hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteI would honestly rather see Kutcher host. He was actually pretty damn funny on Punk'd. JMO.
it's a marketing win/win for both parties...this little boy has the tween market in his back pocket and their parents spend oodles on merch...so hey, milk those 15 min. he's not a bad kid, seriously...that may change at some point...but for now, he's actually sweetly decent.
ReplyDeleteSo Justin Bieber will be the new Ashton Kutcher? Oh hell, I'll stop right there - no sarcasm from me. I was completely in love with Donny Osmond back in the olden days, so there's no room to maneuver.
ReplyDeleteInteresting sidenote - as interesting as Justin Bieber can be that is - the music director on a local radio show here in Boston said the reason this kid's management team is getting him this other gigs (CSI, Punk'd) is because the voice change isn't going well and his music career could be over. Looks like his 15 minutes might come to an abrupt end unless he can get JLo to help him in the fine art of faking it!
