Rooney Mara Hurt?
I tried translating the Swedish newspaper report that Rooney Mara was injured on the set of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo or as they say in Sweden, Men Who Hate Women. But the translation is so bad it could be that Rooney hurt herself while training for the film. One sentence says she cannot film for awhile and the other says she is able to do certain scenes right now. In fact, one of the producers is quoted as saying he did not even know Rooney was even hurt. Whatever the case, filming is going on still so reports of a shutdown are incorrect.
I can hardly wait to see this movie.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing the book mentioned on this site so many times I finally decided to read it - and I thought it was pretty good. WAY too much insignificant detail at times, but I did read it all in one sitting and finished it at about 3 in the morning :) Same thing with the second book. I am looking forward to the movie also!
ReplyDeleteThe article says that she has hurt her shoulder pretty badly. She has been seen at the posh private hospital Sofiahemmet, where she had some kind of physiotherapy.

ReplyDeleteI already saw the Swedish version not sure if I will watch the American version. Liked the movie now waiting on the second part which will come out in Oct. on Net Flix.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I'm not sure what the point is in remaking this movie if it's being filmed in Sweden, using several Swedish actors, having Rooney Mara see a dialect coach so she can have a Swedish accent...really? All this just so Americans won't have to read subtitles?
ReplyDeleteThey should take it as a sign and just STOP filming and leave good enough alone.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading about this on the site, I first read all three books and loved them. There was a lot of extra detail, but overall a fast interesting read.
ReplyDeleteThen i watched the Swedish film. I hated it. I usually like foreign films, so the subtitles don't bother me. But the film was verrrry slow and sparse and not as exciting as the material should allow.
I am excited to see the American remake. I like the actors involved (esp. Daniel Craig!!!) and think they will focus on other parts of the story and give it a faster pace.
And David Fincher is an amazing director.
Just finished the first book & movie last week. I'll definitely be watching the American version, wondering how they will translate over.
