Ronnie Wood Smoked Sugar

Ronnie Wood banned his children from ever having sugar in the house after smoking some sugar he thought was coke. Yep, how effed up do you have to be to not realize something is sugar instead of coke. Maybe the fact that your kids were baking with it a few minutes earlier would have been your first clue.

Ronnie also told the News Of The World that as recently as two years ago he was drinking two bottles of vodka a day. You know, that is Leaving Las Vegas quantities right there. That is how do you even function? I drink a lot, but I can't imagine ever consuming two bottles of vodka every day, 7 days a week.

Ronnie has been sober for six months now so he blames that whole Russian romance thing on drinking but that his new girlfriend has finally got him on the straight and narrow. One day at a time Ronnie.

  1. I have said it before and I will say it again. I want to see these guys in concert soooooooooooo badly. Because I am SURE one of them is going to spontaneously combust onstage and that would be one hell of a special effect.

  2. Does Jagger still stuff a kotex down the front of his pants in concert?

  5. I can't believe any of them are still alive. It's truly better living through chemistry! He had to be drinking the good stuff.

  6. I'm with _-_=_ - how in God's name are any of them alive?? 2 bottles of vodka a day??? Maybe he meant the plane sized bottles. I know, I know. I was joking. But that is insane that he is not yellow and dying.

  7. You guys are on fire today. X-D

Remember when Keith Richards got hit on the head by a coconut and had to be hospitalized? And the world was like, "THAT'S what gets him into the hospital?!"

  10. Kate, I almost forgot about the coconut! They'll all probably die from something freaky like that. In their old age, probably way over 100 years old!

  13. Get rid of the sugar?? Why didn't it occur to him to get rid of the fucking COKE??!! Asshat.

@ nancer's Stevie Ray comment: As a fellow Texan, all I can say is Amen to THAT! Completely unfair that he died and these coke hounds are still alive.

  14. Good gawd. Keith Richards used to fly to Switzerland every 3 months for a whole blood transfusion! That's how he is still here. Jagger, meh, I don't think he did anything hard. I can't believe that Wood, Richard and Wyman are not dust bunnies now.

  16. LOL @ BigMama

I have never seen the Stones in concert .

I forgot about the coconut story too, teehee!

Well if dude is drinking 2 bottles of vodka a day, I guess I can see how he mistook sugar for coke...

  17. Skeeball - I'm impressed. I've seen the Stones about half a dozen times since 1971 in small and large venues and have always rocked my ass off.

Ronnie Wood, not the world's brightest guy, but once upon a time he had such talent, style, and grace. Was a big fan of his when he was with Jeff Beck and The Faces; even dug his solo stuff. Now, can he even sit on his porch and play? How much vodka does it take to destroy muscle memory?

  18. I used to love the Stones. My first concert was in '81 and I quit a job to travel to a few more concerts on the same tour. Took my newly-divorced Mother to a concert on the '89 tour. She decided to try smoking a joint for the first time because she was curious. Kids around us were freaked out when she took the joint being passed around. Even more freaked out when she got her groove on. About the only time I've *truly* liked my Mother.

Back to the Stones, though. I can't be bothered with them anymore. Their tours now are strictly money-grabbers, IMO. I was disappointed in the '89 tour and haven't bothered since. A friend of mine has managed to get into one of their 'surprise' club shows when they rehearse in Toronto (at the Horseshoe). That's the only way I'd see them again. But pigs will fly before I score one of those tickets.

  19. It had to be icing sugar right? There's no way you could mistake granulated sugar for coke. Even icing sugar is quite the stretch. How high do you have to already be to not realize??
