Lindsay & Dina Still Don't Get It
I was all prepared to really jump on Lindsay Lohan in this post, but I think it is Dina Lohan who is really irritating me. When I think of a parent who has a child addicted to drugs I can think of two responses that seem appropriate. Full support while they go through rehab and tough love if rehab has not taken after several attempts. Their may be estrangement if it is really bad. I cannot remember one episode of intervention or met one parent though who did not care if their child was taking drugs and who, given the chance would probably volunteer a $20 bill so their child could snort some coke.
US Weekly has a story about Lindsay sucking back whiskey and cokes while she was writing her apology and how she didn't care what anyone thought. She is an addict. She needs help. Either she will choose to get help or she won't. However, her mom, Dina, is quoted as saying "Who cares if it's true? Our new team is like a machine. They'll squash this.'"
So, instead of worrying that her daughter is headed down a road towards death all she cares about is keeping her daughter out of jail and earning money for Dina. The sad fact is that depending on how the judge gives Lindsay the 30 days in jail, she might not spend anytime in jail.
The jails are so overcrowded that she will check in and check out if he orders her to serve 30 days. Now, if he sets her probation hearing for 30 days and revokes her bail, then she would have to serve the whole 30 days. Unlikely though. Chances are Lindsay will walk in and out of jail and then go out partying.
