Do you remember a few years back the Super Bowl commercial about herding cats? Well, this behind the scenes IKEA ad is so much better. What happens when you let loose a 100 cats inside an IKEA store during the night and try to herd them?
It's The Goopster's new movie. You don't have to watch the entire trailer, but watch the first ten seconds and her eye roll. That is The Goopster. Even in this she thinks she is better than everyone else.
I watched this....brutal
ReplyDeleteWhy in the world would someone hire Gwyneth Paltrow for this part? Her audience - such as it is - is not the audience for this movie.
ReplyDeleteI actually liked the trailer, and would have considered seeing the movie if it didn't involve looking at Fishsticks for two hours.

ReplyDeleteDid she put out a CD when she came out with Hewie Lewis?
ReplyDeleteI think her "eye roll" was her in character. I wouldn't mind seeing this movie,it looks good. I live in Nashville and it will appeal to the audience here.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who still likes poor Gwenyth?
ReplyDeletei think you are Sauce.
ReplyDeleteI love the cat video so much. I would LOVE to let my cat do that, but I'd be TERRIFIED he'd get lost or escape or something and I'd never see him again. HE would probably LOVE it though, he loves other animals and he'd love to explore like that :D
ReplyDeleteWhy no black cats? Don't they like ones like my sweet black babies in England?
ReplyDeleteAlso, probably a lot of asthma attacks and red itchy eyes in the customers who came in afterward. Kind of not cool, IMO, since simply vacuuming is often not enough to help people with bad cat allergies, esp. after cats have traipsed all over the place...
But I loved watching it!
Well jes' a look at Gwyneth masterin' another accent jes like she did real English!
ReplyDeleteI don't care for country music ( with the exception of Patsy Cline, and who doesn't love Patsy?) so can't work up much interest for this movie, but Tim McCraw was pretty awesome in The Blind Side.
Ordinarily Cats + IKEA = Some Sort of Twisted Heaven but I couldn't let my two babies loose in an IKEA. They would come back as two traumatized chain-smoking, promiscuous kitties.
Basically, they would come back as feline four-legged versions of Lindsay and Paris.
With all the effort they made to get Gwyneth to look like an aging Taylor Swift, why didn't they just cast Taylor Swift herself?
ReplyDeleteI am not a big Gwyneth fan when it comes to things she says or writes, but she's not a terrible actor. I will probably see that movie too, it looks like something I might enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the kitty video! Such beautiful creatures and they just crack me up.
ReplyDeleteMango - HILARIOUS about them coming back traumatized, chain-smoking and promiscuous. I know one of mine would come back with battle scars and looking for a medal, the other would sit down right where I put him and howl to go home!
I wish Tim McGraw would just embrace his baldness. He would look so hot if he just let himself be real and not wear those horrible hairpieces all the time. He is one good looking guy and he makes himself look like a tool.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, Mango.
ReplyDeleteA smooth jazz station I listen to plays a duet of Gwyn and (I think) Babyface singing Just My Imagination. Her voice is okay, but I wouldn't buy any CD.
Isn't this the Lurlene Lumpkin story?
ReplyDelete^^^LMAO, Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteikea is very smart...they just "happened" to release an iphone app today at the same time as this video!
ReplyDeleteLurlene Lumpkin!!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteselenakyle - my guy's black, too. Big huge furry black boy. You're right, not enough diversity in this shoot! Racism!!! LOL ;P
I don't like country but you know what this looks like a good film and her voice isn't that bad.
ReplyDeleteI would actually go and watch this film.
Leeghton Meester ...great actress, great singer voice...love her.
If anything I spent most of the Ikea piece wanting more footage of the cats -- it seemed to get really loooong and slow but the final half minute is a great payoff. And I laughed at the very end shot. :)
ReplyDeleteI love country music and many of the country music movies I have seen, I've enjoyed. BUT ... F'ing Gwyneth Paltrow - I don't think so. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteI hired someone to photograph my animal bebes a few years back and while we were in the photographer's studio (a small warehouse) my cat got lost for 2 hours. If I let my cat out in IKEA, I would never see him again. Hell, he could get lost in one of those "This is what it's like to live in 200SF" displays.
ReplyDeleteThat trailer looked...not so great. I'm sure I'll see it.
@Sauce - I like Goop the actress...I'll see this...when it comes out on Lifetime *meeeoooow!!!
ReplyDeleteI kid! I will watch it on PREMIUM cable.
I love the toodins so much. I wish I weren't so allergic to them. :(
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of country music, though it has played a role in 3 distinct periods of my life. Nor am I a fan of the Goopster, but I have to say, that movie looks good. Then again, I found myself watching 'Love Story' and weeping the other day, so I'm in one of those moods.
@Sauce, I don't hate her either.
ReplyDeleteThis movie has my name written all over it...although for some reason it reminds me of a gender switch of Walk the Line. NOT that I am implying GOOP and The Man In Black should be considered in the same breath in any way, just the feel of the film, kinda. I don't know. Just chuck me up for a ticket anyway.
ReplyDeleteOn another note KITTIES!!!!!
